Using God's name would demonstrate respect and honor for the Creator.
The removal of the name is indefensible whether for superstition or otherwise and has been thusly effective in causing most Christians to not view using it or acknowledging it as important. Those seeking to please God would want to be obedient as Jesus and not selective in their decision to obey God's word. (John 10:24)

I will bite - where book/chapter/verse was the name of God removed from Bible including names like Elohim, Adnonai, Jehovah, Yahweh and the plethora of other names Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek that were used?

One place where many Bibles do not contain God's name is at Psalm 83:18. The divine name for instance is supposed to appear some 700 times in Psalms alone for instance.
Some Bibles in the introduction will state that they have removed God's name from scripture and replaced it with God or Lord.

Hey Jason. I just want to say I appreciate your defense of the KJV.

I agree with you that we don't actually understand some, if not more of the words in Hebrew (I can't comment about the Greek.)

I agree that most people who teach about the languages in the manner that they do aren't qualified, and are sometimes even bitter and hateful instead of curious and loving of Yahweh's Word, and are closed minded to discovering it's meaning.

I agree that the modern translations are mostly evil. You have encouraged me to study the Textus Receptus as I learn more about Greek.

And I want to take it a step further, and admit that I believe there are errors in the Hebrew, and although I have not examined it as closely, it does seem that the Greek has errors too.

For example, compare Isaiah 28:16 to Romans 10:11.

This is not the KJV at fault here, if you check the Septuagint, which Paul seems to be quoting, it mistranslates the Hebrew, and it crept into the NT! That error is as old as the Septuagint is!

Anyway, I appreciate that you believe it's not just the KJV but the sources that are inspired too. I think the KJV is pretty amazing. You know, they were braver about the Name (irregardless of pronunciation) than they could have been. Surely there were people who didn't want them to transliterate it at all.

I don't really want to argue, I hope I didn't come off that way.

Yahweh help us! And keep in Christ.

As far as I can find the one that does contain Jehovah is the Jehovah Witness translation the New World Translation and I would not suggest that it is the benchmark for the quality of modern Bible translations.

The King James Version (1611) uses LORD or GOD (in capital and small capitals) to represent the Tetragrammaton in the Hebrew Scriptures, except in four cases.
The fact that languages change also affects Bible translations. A translation that was easy to read when it was first produced may not be so clear later on. An example of this is the King James Version, first produced in 1611. It became one of the most popular English Bibles. The wording used in the King James Version even affected the English language. However, this translation used the name Jehovah only a few times. In most places in the Hebrew Scriptures where God’s name was originally found, it used the word “LORD” in capital letters. Later printings also used the word “LORD” in capital letters in some verses in the Christian Greek Scriptures. In this way, the King James Version acknowledged that God’s name belonged in the so-called New Testament.

When the King James Version first appeared, the English words it used sounded modern. But as time went by, some of those words began to sound old-fashioned, and today they are difficult to understand. The same thing happened with early Bible translations in other languages.

The Divine name Jehovah may appear in the King James four times-Exodus 6:3;Psalm 83:18;Isaiah 12:2,26:4.
The American Standard Version of 1901, restored the name to some 7,000 of its rightful places in the Bible.
Hi Sister ..I appreciate you pointing out another translation error and it actually makes me very sad that brothers and sisters in Christ are arguing about such things . We are actually commanded not to argue about certain things by the apostle ( the sent one ) to the Gentiles, our brother Paul. We are to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints. There was of course no J in Hebrew thus no name Jehovah. Even Jesus' name is greek for Yeshua . The Jehovah's Witnesses are big on this as of course some of the pentecostal Jesus Name group is on His name ..Hebrew Roots group insist in the original hebrew , Yeshua , etc. There are many people hung up words but do not understand meanings . Paul said if anyone thinks they know anything, they know nothing as they ought. This was in regard to idols ...The Corinthians had become spiritually puffed up in their "knowledge " ..but true knowledge will yield love , humility and meekness for it is actually from above . In accordance with the teachings of Jesus ( Yeshaua , etc. ) Christ /Messiah ( the anointed one , etc. ) , I call God , Father ...I do not get hung up on names per se . I believe , the translation YHWY to the greek , Jehovah was the best they had . But when Moses asked who should he say sent him , God said to tell the Israelites that " I AM " sent him . If have all knowledge but do not have love , we will get a failing mark on THAT Day . I give you a new commandment , that you love one another.

Jesus gave many commands and much advice based on divine principles-- all of what the Bible says is important and we need to seek to show reverance and respect for all of the scriptures.(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
The Pharisees and Saducees of Jesus' day were infamous for being selective with how they would worship God.

Removing any name is going against the true purpose of the Bible. That would include The name Jesus etc wherever it is supposed to exist. In addition the names of the Philistines, Baal gods such as Molech etc, geographic locations, pagan kings like Nebuchadnezzar were not targeted for deletion or substitution but interestingly some saw fit to target God's name .
Jesus emphasizing the importance of God's name told his followers to pray for his Father's name to be sanctified.(Matthew 6:9,10) Lord and God are titles not names. Satan for example is identified as such in scripture and is referred to as a "god".(2 Corinthians 4:3,4)

It helps me to use God's personal name because I know that I should. If God didn't want us to use it he wouldn't have placed it in scripture. That the " most high" in the universe has revealed his name in scripture to mankind and that his many worshippers have used it through time is a solid testimony to the need to esteem this name.(Psalm 83:18)

That people question it even when faced with overwhelming fact about the wrongness of any translater removing God's name whether it appears once or several times is a testimony to the ill effect that tampering with God's word has had on many Christians.

And when you pray say " Our Father , who art in heaven . " Jesus said to go out and make disciples teaching them to observe all that He commanded . Jesus is my Lord . I do not call my earthly dad by his name ...Abba Father is the equivalent of daddy . Jesus never spoke the name Jehovah while he walked in the flesh for it is a greek/latin/ english word I believe ...with that said , God knows our heart which is what counts ..if you do not believe me ..look in Isiah ( KJV or otherwise ..the important thing is the understanding ) Then the Lordsaid, "Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote,

So again ..the outward has no relevance unless the heart is changed .

KJV is satisfactory to me.

EX 3
[13] What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
[14] I AM
[15] this is my name for ever

God Bless,
SBC
THE name Jehovah comes from a Hebrew verb that means “to become.” Some scholars feel that in this instance the verb is used in its causative form. God’s name is thus understood by many to mean “He Causes to Become.” This definition well fits Jehovah’s role as the Creator. He caused the universe and intelligent beings to come into existence and continues to cause his will and purpose to become a reality.
How, then, should we understand Jehovah’s answer to Moses’ question recorded at Exodus 3:13, 14? Moses asked: “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your forefathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is his name?’ What should I say to them?” Jehovah answered: “I Will Become What I Choose to Become.”

Note that Moses was not asking Jehovah to reveal his name. Moses and the Israelites already knew God’s name well. Moses wanted Jehovah to reveal something faith-strengthening about the kind of God he is, something that may also be reflected in the meaning of his name. Hence, by responding, “I Will Become What I Choose to Become,” Jehovah was revealing a thrilling aspect of his own nature: In each situation, he becomes whatever is necessary to fulfill his purpose. For example, for Moses and the Israelites, Jehovah became a Rescuer, a Lawgiver, a Provider—and much more. Thus, Jehovah himself chooses to become whatever is necessary to fulfill his promises to his people. However, while the name Jehovah may include this idea, it is not limited to what he himself chooses to become. It also includes what he causes his creation to become in the accomplishment of his purpose.

Thank You sister for passing that along. The meaning of one's name or the meaning of a word is a delight. It is a bit lost in this day and time ...as I understand it , I was named for an individual but my actual name does not have a meaning as many did in ancient days..for example ...And she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call His name Jesus ( Yeshua ): for He shall save His people from their sins ...and of course Yeshua ( Or Joshua in English ) means " God/Jehovah/Yahweh is Salvation " And it is likewise interesting that Elizabeth was told to name her son " John " or Yahweh is Gracious . Thank you again for sharing that . Obviously there is much we do not understand but we do understand that God is a giver for He gave us His only begotten Son in whom is life . The giver gave this name to call upon.

  • Acts 4:10-12 "… let it be known to all of YOU and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Naz‧a‧rene′, whom YOU impaled but whom God raised up from the dead, by this one does this man stand here sound in front of YOU. This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”"

I AM THAT I AM ~ I AM

Gen 1
[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
.....God IS, (I AM, LORD, YHWH, JAH, JEHOVAH, FATHER)
.....God Created.
.....HOW?
[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
.....Gods Spirit (light, power)
[3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
.....Gods Word (JESUS, Lord, Son, CHRIST)
.....HOW?
.....Out of Gods Mouth

Gen 1
[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
....Us WHO? Our WHO?
....YHWH, JESUS, SPIRIT / Father, Son, HS /Lord God Almighty

Adam ~ made in Gods image and likeness
Woman ~ out of Adam

Gods word comes forth out of Him, into the beginning of mankind. (ie God spoke, God said)
Gods word comes forth out of His mouth, and is revealed to mankind out of a virgins womb.(Jesus)

Male and Female (in the beginning) change ~ defy God
....now another image and likeness of mankind.

Gen.5
[1] This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
[2] Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
[3] And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

Isa 45
[23] I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
....sworn BY who? "I" "myself"
....the word....what word? Gods Word....who? Jesus, Christ, Lord
....FROM?....out of Gods Mouth

Isa 52
[16] And I have put my words in thy mouth...
....Gods WORD, He puts IN mouths of his creation, ie mankind
....WHY?
....Begin, RECONCILIATION, of mankind BACK to the image and likeness of I AM.

Pss 23
[3] He restoreth my soul:
.....WHY?
.....Process, of RECONCILIATION, of mankind BACK to the image and likeness of I AM.

1 Pet 1
[23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
.....Process, continues, of RECONCILIATION, of mankind BACK to the image and likeness of I AM.
.....Gods SEED
.....By Gods Word
.....who Lives forever.
WHAT, does Gods SEED BIRTH?

Ezek 18
[31] Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
.....a New spirit, from Gods seed, by Gods Word
.....and Where does this New spirit, abide?

Ezek 36
[26] A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
....HOW?

Rom 2
[29] But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
......HOW?
......BAPTISM
......OF WHAT? WITH WHAT?

Mark 1
[8] I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

John 14
[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

.....WHO?
John 14
[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

.....WHO?
we.....our

Gen 1
[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

....WHO?
we / our / us / our / our

.....WHAT?
RECONCILIATION of the WHOLE of A man, to be BACK in the likeness and image of the WHOLE of GOD, who is ( we, our, us, our, our,) WHOLLY, "I AM".

Matt 9
[12] But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
[22] But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

WHOLE WHAT of mankind, BACK to the image and likeness of I AM....the WHOLE of God
(Father, Son, Holy Spirit, / Lord God Almighty / Body, Soul, Spirit / we, us, our, ?
....body of man, crucified, washed, sanctified, now lives in Jesus' body
....soul of man, restored
....spirit of man, quickened (brought into living), by Gods Seed, by Gods Power, by Gods Word

WHY?
....complete a man's RECONCILIATION.

WHY?
....BECAUSE
....Every man Reconciled BACK to "I AM", is Gods "inheritance".

Deut
[20] But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

And mans inheritance?

1) land
2) the LORD

Deut 4
[38] To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

Deut 10
[9] Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

Do men delight in hopes of HAVING an inheritance?

God delights in Having His inheritance.... :)

HOW many NAMES does God Have?
....numerous NAMES
...EVERY NAME, that God reveals, (we, us, our, I, he,) calls any part of the WHOLE of I AM, Himself.

HOW many NAMES does a man have?
....numerous NAMES
....EVERY NAME, that the man is called, BY his parents, himself, his friends, neighbors, relatives, etc.

And ONE DAY, mans heavenly Father will give the man a NEW NAME, that has NOT been defiled by coming out of the mouth of the wicked.

And WHAT ABOUT GODS NAMES?
HOW is a reconciled man supposed to SAY, and DO, concerning GODS NAMES?

As God does, Himself. Since reconciliation of a man being WHOLE, like I AM is WHOLE, is to BE in Gods LIKENESS.

Pss 79
[9] Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

Everything is for the GLORY of the WHOLE of "I AM", for the WHOLENESS of GOD.
For Every NAME that God has declared IS HE, is a NAME OF GOD, that is to be GLORIFIED.

How does a man GLORIFY GOD ?
By every good works that a man does, "THAT" He DOES in GODS NAME.

In our Father's name, In the LORD's name, In the Lord's name, In Christ's name, In Jesus' name, In YHWH's name, In Jehovah's name, etc.

God, I AM, Himself, KNOWS who He is by WHAT NAMES men say and do things IN HIS NAME.

Just as whatever names men call you, YOU KNOW, who you are by WHAT NAMES men call to you....
right carrwinn ?

Rev 4
[8] And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

God Bless,

How does a man GLORIFY GODS ?

God Bless,

God Bless you and yours. Glory be to Gods great names and that you seek and find the understanding of God, according to God, for the big (spiritual) picture of His desires for mankind.
