I have two - both small children in my family. I have a 6 year- old grand-nephew named Michael who has been fighting leukemia most of his life. I have a 4 year-old cousin named Mia who has been fighting brain cancer most of her life. I think about them often when things get a little bit hard for me. I give thanks that God walks with us every step of the way in this short life.

PRAISE GOD! I'm grateful, thankful and blessed beyond words!

I'm reminded that it's okay to shed a tear... whether we're happy, sad, or deeply moved. The Bible is filled stories and accounts of the strongest people of faith crying out to God in their day of trouble.

oh what timing is this! Thank s so much for reminding us that Jesus wept too. That is pretty profound a thought-that god incarnate hurt just like us, Mr. O.

Thank God for His Word, The Holy Bible, for the comfort and encouragement it brings. Between the pages of the Bible is truly a blessed place to be, right there in the middle of God's spoken word to man (and woman). Thank God also for giving young people the talent and inspiration to create songs, and sing songs, and the musicians performing in a way that believers can join together in fellowship to glorify God in praise, worship, song, and clapping of hands. Glory to God.

IN between those pages is indeed the very best place to be. The words themselves are healing to me when I read them. It stirs something inside me, and calms me too, like a balm to a sore/irritated wound.

Its a mysterious type of occurrence, the word is literally alive....how is that even possible?

Amen, sister. The power of the Almighty God, Jesus Christ the Living Word of God, and the Holy Spirit who lives within who teaches and comforts.

Hebrews 4:12 talks about scripture being alive and active...

Colossians 1:26-27 talks about the mystery kept secret, hid for ages, from generations...

It was Paul who likened the mystery as to a branch from a wild olive tree being grafted onto Israel. That's some vivid imagery of Jesus being revealed to the Gentiles.

Have any of you listened to Elisabeth Elliot's radio broadcast called, Gateway to Joy? I remember that she merged excerpts from two different Bible verses, Jeremiah 31:3 & Deuteronomy 33:27, into one, very comforting regular opening to her program (which I believe may have only been 15 minutes long, if memory serves). Here's what she said as her broadcast's opener:

I also heard Pastor Ian Hamilton refer to a sentence from Spurgeon devotional book, Morning and Evening, concerning the everlasting nature of God's love for His elect, that His love for us, which has no end, also had no beginning. IOW, He ALWAYS loved those of us who are His, and He always will

The excerpt of Spurgeon's he was referring to (which looks to Micah 5:2 as well Jeremiah 31:3 for its inspiration) is this, "Everlasting love shall be the my pillow for my head this night". A comforting thought indeed, yes
