My apologies, I had your original post confused with someone who had later responded to you. Adding to your post though, I find the saints mentioned, to be receiving the garments as promised, white being synonymous with purity or possibly holy. see Zechariah 3:4 Joshua had his filthy garments removed and was given a change of raiment. As we are joined to Christ, spiritually speaking, that change of raiment is the white robes we are given and are what is referred to in Revelation. May I also suggest 1 Corinthians 15:53 stating, that as we are corruptible and mortal, we must put on immortality? God is holy. I would expect that in order to be in his presence, one would have to be holy or clean, and that is what the white robes are. Many times scriptures refer to God being made of light, and pure light is white, composed of all color. See his bow (rainbow) in the cloud in Genesis. While darkness itself, is the absence of light (See John chapter 1 - ...the darkness comprehended it not..) No one is truly worthy of what God has given us. That is what is referred to as grace and mercy, which I am thankful for. The saints who do cry, should not be accused though, as they are crying to the one who will avenge them, as he always does. And are given robes apparently as reward, just as he gives the crowns in other verses. He does and will punish the wicked. His judgment is righteous and true, and .."his rain falls on the just and unjust alike." (Matthew 5:45) Though it is noteworthy that the 24 elders earlier in Revelation, with their crowns, actually cast their crowns at his feet in worship, saying holy, holy, holy. I can't say I doubt the emphasis on how holy God really is. Also may I add in Revelation 20:4 the ones on the thrones are noted to have been given authority to judge. So all in all, I'm not sure where you were going with the original post, except that God is true and faithful to his word, and I can only second the statement, as it seems to be more that than an actual question, per se. Come to the table, there is a seat prepared. We will eat fruit of the tree of life which comes forth in all its seasons. We will drink of the water of life. There are many mansions in the Father's house prepared. Joy unspeakable is quite literally the only way to explain what it will be like.
