Oh’ precious Lamb of God, thank you for the peace that comes from heaven for us, Hallelujah!!

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.”

Oh’ mighty Savior, your truth endures forever, even now Lord help us to minister your Gospel of peace to the lost so they might also have true peace.

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:
I came not to send peace, but a sword.”

(John 14:27, Matthew 10:34)

I just love it. I ask for the Peace every day, it is granted. How fortunate are we and all those who understand and accept this great gift..

As Christians whilst peace is given to us as a gift this is not some excuse for us isolating ourselves from the world and its suffering to live in some cocoon of peacefulness. Rather, the Spirit is sent so that through those who follow Jesus’ word others would come to know of God and God’s peace. We walk through the ups and downs of life like everybody else but in the midst of our journey we can know that we are not alone.

A different heresy: Peace: not as the world gives!

If it is NOT of the world, this news will do one of two things;
  • Feel the 'sword'
  • Feel nothing for something so foreign 1 Corinthians 2:14

John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

The link is very good, I read it all...
Last night, (couldn't sleep, armed with a cocoa) I read some of a book by Andrew Murray, The Master's Indwelling, which covered a similar theme. Comparing the world as detailed in your link and the 'Entrance into Rest'.
Hebrews 4:1
1 God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it.
Hebrews 4:11
11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
God help everyone of us
God help us all to yield ourselves to him, and to Christ, and to make it our everyday life; for his name's sake

I agree. Furthermore this incredible peace means we can cope during the inevitable storms of life.

Through the Peace I was able to deal quietly and very very calmly with my husband's death at a hospice three years ago. I sat while visitors came and went. Did not cry. I was able to whisper to him that it was ok to go, then he did later that evening. This month, three years ago. I then did all necessary whilst facing great nonsense from the family, long story!
I had Lord Jesus with me, otherwise I would not be here. I didn't perish, I survived and now thrive. That is the difference God makes, of life over death.

Oh' Lily, so sorry for your loss, and though it sounds crude for me to say brought you through to that place, I truly believe happens for you now. It struck me this morn-as though when we draw near to make peace with God, that blessed Dove draws near to us, , watch over her Lord and provide that special awareness which is possible by God to reward that trusting heart. Amen.
