Father, I pray that You will draw Ben's mom to You by Your mercy and lovingkindness. Open her eyes to Your Truth and love. The choice and responsibility to receive You or to reject You is hers alone, but I ask that You would make Yourself unmistakably real to her. We know that Your heart's desire is for her to accept Your great salvation.

Lay Your hand of eternal comfort on Ben and his father as they walk through this horrific season. Raise up practical and spiritual support for Ben's family and build a hedge of prayer around them.

Here is maybe something to consider trying. You could say something like "Mom, I can never thank you enough for all your love and all the ways you have been a blessing in my life. But I do want to ask you one more favor as your son, please. It would mean so much to me. Please, just ask Jesus 'IF you are Who the Bible says you are, please come into my heart and save my soul and get me to Heaven.'"

Hi all. My mum (55 years old) (non christian) has metastatic breast cancer in her bone. it is in her spine, pelvis and shoulder.

God has been gracious towards me during these emotionally tough times by giving me a great support network. But my dad who is also a christian, is miserable and struggling to cope with the reality of losing his wife and best friend. and also my mum isnt a christian. before her diagnosis she was reluctant to discuss faith saying it wasnt for her. now she does listen but still seems quite unreceptive to truth.

so not only do I face losing my mum, I also face having to live with the horror of knowing my loving and kind mum will spend eternity in hell.

what on earth can I do?
The only thing we can do in this situation is pray, pray and fast if you want to do more. Nothing we do can lead someone to repentance, only God can work that through His mercy.

14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Sanctified.

No they are not......that verse teaches they have the privilege of living with a saint and being exposed to truth...no more, no less

Ben.....you pray just as you have been doing,show your mother both the honor and respect she is due.
If the word is going to take root it will be by the unseen work of the SPIRIT OF GOD.Many of us are or have been in similar circumstances.
The Lord Jesus will seek and save all the Father has given to Him.

You can believe whatever you want
It's not a matter of what i want, it's (in this case) a matter of reading 1 Corinthians 7:14.
It says the spouse of a believer is sanctified.
Why do you not believe that?
Can you explain it, because i don want to give false hope.
but there will not be unbelievers in heaven.....
Not believing is impossible in heaven, obviously.

Paraphrasing: Of hope, faith and Love, Love is the greatest of the three.
God's wrath is revealed from heaven as against all men who are outside of Jesus.
Unbelievers will perish outside of Christ.
EVERYONE will perish outside of Jesus.

Hi Ben:

First, I'm sorry sorry to hear about your mother, and the struggles that everyone in your family are having right now.

I do have a couple of suggestions for your. First, I suggest that you fast and seek the Lord in prayer. Fasting is often practiced by those who are personally seeking closeness, wisdom, and direction from God. Fasting allows you the opportunity to keep your eyes and attention off the things of the world and your own wants and desires, and squarely onto God. Seek Him with your whole heart. Give Him the praise that He is due. And in that place ask Him what He would have you do in this situation. Don't tell Him your will, seek His. Only He knows the beginning and the end, and everything in the middle. Only He possessed unmatchable love, grace, and wisdom.

Also get into God's word. He can speak to you through His word. (Ps 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go.)

Man, in his good intentions, can tell you a lot of things. They may be right; they may be wrong.
God alone will always tell you truth and what is right for you and your situation. Seek Him with your whole heart. You will not be disappointed.

God bless you richly in Christ Jesus.

Some good advice and not so good advice on here already. In addition to previous comments, you could say to your mum that if she gets scared or is struggling to cope she can ask Jesus to come into her life and He will comfort her, help her deal with the fear and when the time comes He will take her to be with Him.

I have also not seen anything on here about healing. I know some people on here dont believe in healing but I think its now at least 8 people I know who have been healed of cancer after laying on of hands and prayer. I person at my church gave testimony of being healed only a few weeks go.

Sadly, you CANNOT FORCE anyone to accept the free gift of LIFE Eternal. ALL you can do is pray that HE will convict her heart and that she WILL hear and act on the conviction.

Hieronymus,

[It says the spouse of a believer is sanctified.
Why do you not believe that?]

see post 44

[Can you explain it, because i don want to give false hope.]
Sanctified does not always mean or equal...salvation
lev27;

And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him.

num7;
And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had anointed it,
and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them;

[Not believing is impossible in heaven, obviously.]

Let me clarify for you;
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Here is the issue...new birth is mandatory....1cor7 does not say they are given new birth.

This is a very tough spot to be in, OP...

My advice is to pray for your mother a lot. It is ultimately up to her to believe in Jesus whether you like that or not.

But praying for her may make the difference. Prayer is very powerful.

Also, talk to her. Don't give up on her. She may relent and confess her faith in God.

Praying for your mom, dad and you. Praying our Almighty Father in Heaven draws your mom to His Son Jesus Christ for salvation.

Heavenly Father Almighty God we ask Ben’s mom will call upon the Holy One and Just Jesus Christ. The Prince of Life Whom You raised from the dead and in Whom we, your church, proclaim our Lord and Savior. I pray she will through faith in His Name will be washed clean and The Holy Spirit fill her.

Yes this faith, we pray, which comes through Your Son will give her perfect soundness.

I ask You give Ben’s mom the godly sorrow leading to repentance and salvation. We pray for her to be converted that her sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come to her by Your presence dear Lord. May this be her day of Visitation.

In Jesus Name we pray.

Amen.
