Ask and answer this question immediately to yourself. What is your response?

Are you willing to suffer and die as Christ died for you? If he asked you?

I think that's it. You gotta actually desire to throw yourself under the bus to further the kingdom hahaha

okay i've gone mad

I was willing to die to self, so yes, I would be willing to die physically too. I think it would be hard for me, but if that was His plan for me, I know that He would get me through it, and I would see His face before me as I was dying.

But no, we should never desire that. He came to give us life, not death, and I feel we must take that very seriously.

I would like to think so but the truth is when I put the question to myself in the way you put it (such as throwing oneself under a bus) I baulked.

I'm thinking it would take Him inspiring me personally in the context of the Kingdom in action before I would actually be in a position to think like this.

Dying easy, and it is even easier to say what we would do in the face of suffering. The better question is: are you willing to live for Jesus each and every day?

Philippians 1:23-24
23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. 24 Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.

---

Matthew 26:33-35
33 Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”

34 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”

And so said all the disciples.

---

When not faced with it, saying we will die for Him is one thing.

When and if the time comes, doing it is another.

---

John 15:13

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Revelation 20:1-6

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a[a] thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Amazing reward for the tribulation saints.

no

but then again not many Christians are

for our flesh is weak

even the Lord was not like "FANTASTIC i am PUMPED! LETS GO!" when it comes to the prospect He was going on the cross He actually asked God to remove the cup if God was willing!

but in the end He still chose to follow what the Lord wants not what He wanted

it was not easy at all

I personally think the strength can only come from above

Hi
perfectly valid interesting question.
Truth. I am not a brave person. If and when such a situation occurs, I would pray for Jesus Christ to give me the courage to face and deal with it. For many Christian believers this awful situation is real. I pray for them .
But we die only once, it is good to make it count. With Gods strength. Meanwhile let us live well, according to Gods will. Spread His love.

God never destined any body to die for Him (as martyrs)

The early church was fed to lion, they could actually deny their faith and escape death, however, they choosed to defend the truth.

Jesus could run away from Gethsemane garden as He knew people will capture Him, however, He choosed to defend the truth and face them.

I agree with @Soyeong. If a person is living for Jesus every day, he/she will be ready to die for Him if that is His plan. The same grace of God that is sufficient for daily living will be sufficient for dying, too.
I believe that God gives us the grace to deal with life as needed, and if He wills that I die as a martyr, He will give me grace for that when the time comes.
