Are these Scriptures corrupt?

Psalm 90:4
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Ecclesiastes 6:6
Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
No,but you need to understand what they mean!
For GOD a thousand years is like ONE day.... but for us humans that is another matter.

If you were to substitute the words "two thousand" for the words "a thousand" in each of those verses, would that change the messages that those verses are conveying?

That would be a corruption of the Scriptures... the message conveyed is already clear as it is .

Why are you unable to accept what God revealed to his servant John in Revelation 20:1-6 ?

Why do you not accept that a thousand years simply means a long duration, as in the verses I've cited?
These verses means For GOD a thousand years is like ONE day ... read Psalms 90:4 in thy sight 1,000 years are but as yesterday when it is past...

Psalms 90:4
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

God is fully involved in Revelation 20. Are not the thousand years in that chapter the thousand years as God sees them?

There is nothing in those verses that says that the thousand years are as seen by humans. God alone is the one who knows and controls the duration of time involved. The thousand years are years as seen by God.

5 The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20
6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The first resurrection, which raises us up from the first death, the spiritual death of our sins, to spiritual life, is the salvation experience which makes us blessed and holy:

John 5
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Ephesians 2
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians 1
3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

For those of us who experience the first resurrection; the second death, i.e. the physical death which we all face; no longer has the power to separate us eternally from God, for Christ has declared that whoever believes in Him will never die (John 11:26), and Paul tells us that “death is swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54).

This resurrection elevates us as spiritual kings and priests immediately upon experiencing it (Revelation 1:6, 1 Peter 2:9), and we begin our spiritual reign immediately with Christ (Romans 5:17,21; Ephesians 2:6). Believers in Christ for the past 2000 years have borne testimony to this reality, so we know that the 1000 years is not a literal period, but rather one of an ultimate duration known only to a God whose durations are not ours (Psalms 90:4, 2 Peter 3:8).

This is the message of Revelation 20 to all who will accept Christ's free gift of salvation; the blessings and benefits of the first resurrection are theirs to experience and enjoy for time and eternity.

Why are you willingly ignoring verses 4 and 5 who precede verse 6 ?
Revelation 20:4-6
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.

Verse 5 clearly imply that those not mentioned in verse 4 will be resurrected and judged at The Great White Throne Judgment 1,000 years later Revelation 20:11-15....if their names is found written in the Book of Life they will live eternally with God and Jesus on the New Earth Revelation 21 Revelation 22 ...if their name is not found written in the Book of Life they will be cast into the lake of fire Revelation 20:15

Yet the time of his coming for all of us who are believers is to happen as a thief in the night.

parousia70 said:
Doesn't scripture state the exact opposite of that?
Isn't it the unbelievers that experience the Thief in the night coming?
According to scripture, The Believer, who is awake and watching, does not experience His coming as a thief"

1 Thessalonians 5:4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

Matthew 24:43
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Luke 12:39
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Revelation 3:3
Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

The thief's coming only befalls those who are NOT watching.
And according to Revelation 3:3, the thief's coming must have already befallen those in 1st century Sardis who were not watching.

Commas in the right places could have helped it be clear what the case is. Yet the time, of his coming for all of us who are believers, is to happen as a thief in the night.

Were those in the first century church of Sardis not believers according to this?

We should be watching, in that sense. The time of his coming, like a thief coming in the night, isn't announced ahead of time. So unbelievers won't know either. Believers are warned to live right, just as if Christ is returning for them in that time, and the time will come. When it does, it shouldn't mean that then we should change how we are living, so our motive should be the same as it would be for then, we must think how we are to live for Christ just like that when we will see him, we are not motivated for it the same way if we don't think that way.

There are signs to watch for, that astute believers can know the time is drawing near, with end time scenarios in biblical prophecy that should happen. We might talk of what may be seen now already. Believers may be taken out unexpectedly, as believers are not to be there where judgment is coming from Yahweh on the unrepentant wicked in this world, yet there are troubles that are coming to this world while we would all be here. There will be problems from what our society contributes to, which we should really stop being involved in, for we would be here with the results of those things coming. We might find ways to live much better, even if separating from others, to live in such better ways. Separating for this may be called for, even already. While believers would be taken out ultimately, at an unexpected time, before Yahweh's judgment comes on the unrepentant wicked, Christ will be appearing visibly in victory over them, with saving Jerusalem and starting his reign in this world from there.

When you hear the loudest shout you have ever heard, and you hear the loudest trumpet blast you have ever heard, and you feel your feet leaving the ground as you are pulled toward the One who bought us with His Blood, then you will know it is the time...

Believers are to WATCH so they will be aware.

Lots of circumstances and events are coming together to tell me that Christ will return at anytime.

Look at the verse in Matthew 24 about not knowing the exact time. The next verse is about the "days of Noah." Look at the parallel in Luke 17 where it talks about the days of Noah and days of Lot. Notice the related verses say the coming of Christ will be like the destruction of Sodom. In other words, fire from heaven... just like in Ezekiel 38 & Ezekiel 39 and Revelation 20:9.

In Luke 17:26-30, Jesus compares the evil end of the age to both the "days of Noah" and "days of Lot." In both of those Biblical examples, evildoers had passed the point of no return and God intervened.

Luke 17:29-30

" But on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.

So will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed."

Luke 17:24

" For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day."

I believe the first resurrection (Rev 20:5-6) takes place before the tribulation begins

.

How then do you explain the following?

Revelation 20:4----and I saw the souls of them---which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands(see Revelation 13 for the timing of these events)

Obviously the time of the beast of Revelation 13 is during the tribulation. Revelation 20:4 indicates the tribulation is already in the past when these lived again and reigned with Christ a thousand years, and not that the tribulation would still be in the future at this point.

Your references to the return of Jesus, all mpertain to His second coming to the earth WITH HIS CHURCH, who will be CAUGHT UP to meet Him in the sky, seven years before that, as recorded in Jn.14:2-3, 28; 1 Thess.4:18-17 nd in 2 Thess,2:3 and 7-8.

I could not find the words "seven" or "years" in any of those passages...

.

The Church will be CAUGHT UP to meet the Lord in the sky, seven years before Jesus returns from His marriage to it in heaven, in Rev.19:7-8 WITH THEM in verse 14. Confirming 2 hess.2:3 and 7-8, as I have posted many times over. If you took the time reading instead of taking all your time writing, you might have seen it a time of two.
