I've been having a lot of anxiety lately and panic attacks, I don't want to be medicated. It comes and goes, sometimes unexpectedly. Awhile ago while I was napping, I suddenly woke up and felt extremely anxious, heart beating fast, not really knowing what I'm anxious about. Then, I get exhausted with the anxiety and unable to think straight or do what I'm supposed to do for the day.

I want to fight this. I know much of the anxiety is due to fear of the unknown and also because of circumstances I'm in, and the stresses I face at work. It's weird, because majority of the time these feelings are unnecessary, but I don't understand why I'm feeling such dread. Even if the worst of the worsts happens to me, I know where I'm going so I'm not worried. I just don't like this emotion. Need prayers. Scriptures help too, pls post a scripture that God has placed in your heart.

The image of finding pasture in John 10:9 is a peaceful one, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." I too suffer with anxiety. I do take medicine. I try to only take Xanax on occasion though, since it really causes drowsiness.

"Finally be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending with flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Fear is a tactic often used by the enemy. If I were you, when this starts to happen I would speak these words out load, The Lord rebuke you, The Lord Jesus Rebuke you. Depart from me in Jesus Holy Name. Then I would start to pray. By doing this, you will know, weather this is a medical or spiritual problem. As born again believers we have spiritual authority and power in Jesus Name to this and more. Hope this Blesses you and all who may read this, and of course I am going to pray for you.

Lord, first scripture that comes to mind is Hebrews 13:5,6. May NurseAbigail immerse herself so much in Your written Word, in the scriptures that will help in this situation, that she will maintain her focus on You. Isaiah 66:13 just came to mind, as I think of a baby that becomes comforted when they become aware of the presence of their mother. May NA walk in the knowledge of Your presence; You who love her, care for her, have power to protect and provide. May the knowledge of Your presence drive all fear away, or produce courage in the presence of fear. May she thrill in the victory that You want to continually provide, 2 Corinthians 2:14. May Psalms 30 :11 be true for her in regards to fear and anxiety, rather than mourning. May she be strong in You, stronger than fear and anxiety, Habakkuk 3:19. Give her spiritual feet the stability to walk soundly in the paths of these fears. Amen. After posting this, Psalms 27:1 and Psalms 27:14 also came to mind.

Thank you, brother. All these Scriptures help. Hebrews 13:5,6 really spoke to me, because that is one area I am struggling with, I've often felt like I'm carrying so much weight (student loans, caring for elderly parents, stress at work), that I came to the point that I've become bitter because I always felt like there was lack, my mentality started to change from trusting God to "How can I make more money?". But even in this position I'm in, God has provided, and I believe He is teaching me how to be content and reliant on Him and not on my job or anything else.
