When the spirit of mankind is in it's deadened form it needs new life to bring it back to life. I question whether immortality isn't a myth except for where Christ makes alive. Can do nothing without Him would be complete in that.

This is an exerpt from a devotional this morning Fourth Day, Abide in Christ, Andrew Murray, Christian Classics books at BibleStudyTools.com

The same Spirit which dwelt and still dwells in the Son, becomes the life of the believer; in the unity of that one Spirit, and the fellowship of the same life which is in Christ, he is one with Him. As between the vine and branch, it is a life-union that makes them one.

The parable teaches us the completeness of the union. So close is the union between the vine and the branch, that each is nothing without the other, that each is wholly and only for the other.

Without the vine the branch can do nothing. To the vine it owes its right of place in the vineyard, its life and its fruitfulness. And so the Lord says, '' Without me ye can do nothing.'' The believer can each day be pleasing to God only in that which he does through the power of Christ dwelling in him. The daily inflowing of the life-sap of the Holy Spirit is his only power to bring forth fruit. He lives alone in Him and is for each moment dependent on Him alone.

Without the branch the vine can also do nothing. A vine without branches can bear no fruit . No less indispensable than the vine to the branch, is the branch to the vine. Such is the wonderful condescension of the grace of Jesus, that just as His people are dependent on Him, He has made Himself dependent on them. Without His disciples He cannot dispense His blessing to the world; He cannot offer sinners the grapes of the heavenly Canaan.

Good Angels are created spirit beings serving God as messengers.

Only the TRI-UNE GOD is DEITY/DIVINITY.

All created beings have immortal spirits, including Man.
Interesting post.
Aren't Angels and Messengers the same thing? Angel/s does sound a bit more exotic and supernatural.

The one place I know of that shows a Messenger actually flying is in Daniel 9:21:

Daniel 9:
21 yea, while I am speaking in prayer, then that one Gabriel, whom I had seen in vision at the commencement [Daniel 8:16], being caused to fly swiftly,
is coming unto me at the time of the evening present. [Luke 1:11]

22 He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, “O Daniel! I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding.

The same Messenger that visited Zacharias, (the father of John the Baptist), while he was in the Sanctuary,
and also Mary, the mother of our LORD Jesus:

Luk 1:
9 according to the custom of the priesthood,
his lot was to make perfume, having gone into the anctuary of the Lord,

11 And there appeared to him a Messenger of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of the perfume,
And the Messenger answering said to him, 'I am Gabriel, who have been standing near before God, and I was sent to speak unto thee,
and to proclaim these good news to thee
,
26 And in the sixth month was the Messenger Gabriel sent by God, to a city of Galilee, the name of which is Nazareth,

I noticed there is only 1 Bible version that doesn't use the word "angel/s" and that is Young's Literal Translation, my favorite word for word version....

Genesis 1:1 (YLT)
"messenger" occurs 232 times in 221 verses in the YLT.
Genesis 1:1 (YLT)
"messengers" occurs 174 times in 167 verses in the YLT.

Gen 19:1
And two of the Messengers come towards Sodom at even, and Lot is sitting at the gate of Sodom,

Messengers are shown all thru out revelation:

Rev 1:1
A revelation of Jesus Christ, that God gave to Him, to shew to his servants what things it behoveth to come to pass in swiftness;
and he did signify it, having sent through his Messenger, to his bond servant John
,

Rev 1:
4 John, to the seven Assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming,
and from the Seven Spirits that are before His throne,
20 the secret of the seven stars that thou hast seen upon My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks:
the seven stars are Messengers of the seven Assemblies,
and the seven candle sticks that thou hast seen are seven Assemblies.

Rev 15:8
and filled was the Sanctuary with smoke from the glory of God, and from His power, and no one was able to enter into the Sanctuary till the seven blows/stripes of the seven Messengers may be finished.

I listed some things in a previous post. The author of Hebrews shows some differences in Hebrews chapter 1.

Angels are not creators
God is the Creator of all things

Angels are subject to God and worship Him

God has always existed and is eternal
the angels have not always existed -- they are not eternal, although once created it does sound like they do not die.

God has unlimited power
Angels have limited power

God knows everything
Angels have limited knowledge

The Bible doesn't seem to go into a lot of detail in regard to angels because they are not the main focus of the Bible. So the exact differences other than these that can be surmised are unknown.

I have always understood cherubim and seraphim to be types of angels, or classes of angels. (In other words, they would still have the angel nature). Maybe something like different species of angels would be a way of thinking about this. At any rate, they would still be within the "angel" category.
I do agree that the Most High is superior to his creation, whether angels, sons of God, cherubim etc

Now, who do you think Psalms 82 is about?

The reason I ask, is because whoever it is about, are flat out told they are "elohim", and they are sons of Elyon(The Most High), BUT they will die like men

In your honest opinion, does it make sense for God to tell a men "you are elohim, but will die like men" ? Don't all men die?

Does it really make sense to sentence men to death by telling them that they "will die like men"?
