if we hold to a truth ( nail it down ) our journey into truth ends ...
I suppose hes talking about the manna from heaven, which the Israelites gathered daily when they followed moses. Jesus says he is the bread of life. Paul mentions this gathering of manna as well, but he refers to monetary gain, or any wealth, which we gather. He teaches to give in his letter to the corinthians.Hello, I do not understand.
yes why would i not
and with that measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
What happened to Israel is a picture of our soul journey/process taking place within...the land...wandering in the wilderness between two mountains with a promise of entering in...hold to any truth over a day and it will become filled with worms ...
if we hold to a truth ( nail it down ) our journey into truth ends ...
Oh but there is, and the answer again, is Jesus. And our journey is one that takes us towards it...there is no measure to a spiritual mind ...
for His understanding is infiniteif we hold to a truth ( nail it down ) our journey into truth ends ...
Please help - is there anything I can do so as to read the Bible in a spiritual frame of mind and not as a skeptic?
"a (so-called) truth" perhaps, but not the Truth, who is Jesus Christ. Of course, you could say he was nailed down, but he didn't stay that way. If you follow the Truth, you will find that the worms in your heart and mind, die or leave; and the journey never ends.
Oh but there is, and the answer again, is Jesus. And our journey is one that takes us towards it...
Ephesians 4:13
...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Realize too (as many can show) that more than half of the visitors, I don't know how many posters, are NOT believing Christians.I just think if you are going to give out advice you should understand your audience, Jesus did. A seeker who wants to learn to be more spiritual will benefit more from practical earthly advice than profound spiritual advice from people who have been walking with God for so long they have forgotten what it was like at the start.
I have autism I tend to take things literally. I did not understand why holding to a truth for a day would make it turn into worms. God is truth, God is not a worm, however long you hold onto Him. I questioned why a professing believer would believe that because it made no sense to me. I ask questions when I do not understand. It is better to speak simply so all can enjoy rather than speak with sophistication just for a few. Thank you to all who have elaborated.

Your right that metaphors are only useful if they are bible based and can be checked out with scripture using that particular metaphor in context to what is being discussed. If they are using a language not used in the bible they might as well be talking in piglatin. Anyones guess as to what is being said. Not at all useful.I just think if you are going to give out advice you should understand your audience, Jesus did.
