And ocean currents, which arise from other sources than wind.
Ocean currents: that's another one too.
Speedwell said:
But even so, the Bible doesn't teach that wind causes waves,
I wasn't asked about what the Bible teaches.

The challenge was:
Give an example of where the bible and science agree.

Agree ≠ Teach

-_- then what waves do you mean?
Sarah, I'm not going to give you Bible verses and Google & Wikipedia sites, just so you can arbitrarily handwave them away.

You asked a simple question, and I gave you a simple answer.

You're more than welcome to disagree, but I'm not interesting in doing your work for you.

I thought you guys always investigated before you communicated, and boy was I wrong.

You guys are always on us to read something.

Walk your talk.

I'm tired of being accused of making things up.

Maybe he means this kind of wave:
You're more than welcome to answer her challenge if you can.

If not, well ... I guess the educated thing to do is ridicule those who do, eh?

Yeesh, it isn't a matter of not being able to read the bible and potentially finding the verses you are referring to. It's just that it's a very long collection of books to look through for it.

Is it Psalm 107:29? "He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed."

Or, perhaps Psalm 107:25? "For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, Which lifted up the waves of the sea."

Maybe Luke 8:22-25? "Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they launched out. But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. They came to Jesus and woke Him up, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm."

My response would vary, depending on which verse/verses you intend to use. I don't assume you are making stuff up; it's very easy to find out if there are verses on waves, though I need your input to know which one you are referring to.

From comments in many of your posts you seem to consider yourself immune from this. Have I misread you?
No one is immune from this. Some of us just know how to work with it. I know I am guilty of what I judge others. When people understand how this works they usually quit judging others.

Please don't waste it with another of your evasive answers.
I do not evade anything. I work with what I have to work with. We do not add to or take away from the Word of God. We go where the evidence takes us.

Yes -- lightning that speaks.

And talking snake is clearly evidence of genetic engineering or perhaps divine sign that they will of make sequel for Zootropolis

Or maybe it really means something more profound and it is useless, silly and ridiculous to try combine modern technological concepts to The Bible.

I mean, if creationism was true, wouldn't they have figured out a way to use it with respect to applied biology, geology, etc, by now? What's the hold up?
Do you mean the first chapter in the Bible? The 32 verses we find in Genesis chapter one? Because the rest of the Bible is a history of the last 6,000 years.

I've been struggling to figure out the applications for creationism. Besides theme parks and merchandising, there doesn't appear to be anything else.

Why no biological applications? Or any other areas of applied science?

Have you asked google?

You mean like washing utensils in water and sterilizing them with heat before the discovery of cooties?

That would constitute investigation-before-communication and would ruin the opportunity of accusing someone of making something up.

It's very useless. Why would it even matter to a Christian by which processes we came into existence?

On the other hand, it's very useful when it comes to spiritual cosmology... in fact. If you don't understand spiritual cosmology you will never understand things like prophecy or spiritual warfare which must be why nobody knows anything about prophecy or spiritual warfare and instead are more superstitious than the Hindus.

Or not putting their body waste on their cook pots before discovering germ theory.

People doing something because it works doesn’t mean they understood the scientific principles behind it.

You can bash someone’s skull in without realizing you are applying kinetic energy to cause impact damage.

Being able to calculate accurately the amount of energy is science, that bashing part is just being human.

But for kicks do link the Bible reference for washing utensils and sterilization with heat to prevent diseases.

Here ... see if this helps:
One example is Numbers chapter 19, which describes those who touch a dead body as unclean, and imposes a ritual washing process. Believe it or not, until the mid-1800s, physicians not only ignored this concept, but they frequently went from autopsying dead bodies to operating on the living without washing their hands! Once this changed, of course, hospital mortality rates dropped considerably. Further, the materials described in Numbers 19 include ingredients like hyssop, which is a natural anti-bacterial, wool ash, which is gritty, and cedar, an irritant that would encourage repetitive rinsing. Go into hospitals today, and you'll see doctors washing with gritty, antibacterial soap and lots of water.

Leviticus 2:13

So basically food spoils. Guess nobody figured that out before The Bible.

https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Leviticus 15.2-13

Your body waste is unclean and makes stuff it touches also unclean. Imagine if people had that figured out without the Bible.

The link for that utensils and sterilazion by heat from the Bible ?

You claim to be a "dogma hunter". As a general rule people are guilty of what they accuse others of. Rather then to deal with their own issues they project them out onto others.

"Psychological projection. Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others." wiki

"Carl Jung considered that the unacceptable parts of the personality represented by the Shadow archetype were particularly likely to give rise to projection, both small-scale and on a national/international basis.[20] "

You forgot to actually answer and mention which dogma exactly you are referring to.
Until you do, what you wrote is just air.

I not ignoring anything.

But you just said that you "can't keep up with the comments".
Wouldn't that imply that you aren't reading those comments that you "can't keep up with"?

If not, then what do you mean by not being able to "keep up with the comments"?

Although I am required by the rules to ignore your rudeness.

What rudeness? What, specifically, did I say that was apparantly so rude?

We set limits and boundaries and we try to be a good steward of the time we have to work with. I am under no obligation to allow people to waste my time. Esp I am 65 years old and the older I get the less time I have so I want to make good use out of what I have to work with.

That's nice.
Not that it is relevant to the point at hand though.
