-Making a conscious and willing effort every day to respect and remain 100% percent civil with others and their right to think differently than I do, no matter how controversial they may be. This does makes me a better person and I hope and pray it's helping others. It'll be a dark day indeed when I give way to open anger and dispute towards others like so many have today.

-Last May I made a somewhat spontaneous decision to enroll in school to become a Veterinary Assistant. I recently finished my schooling and graduated. I'm currently working on getting my certification, which I'm hoping will be this month. Fingers crossed.

-Boxing. This pastime has meant more to me than just exercise. I originally started boxing because I recognized my need for social interaction, despite my inner turmoil at such a prospect. I am realist down to my bones and I understand my uncanny ability to withdraw within myself all too well and knew it was time I found a way in which I would be put into a semi-public, social setting, a place that contained a medium (aka 'comfort zone') to fixate my energy; in this case - the boxing bag. ...It has worked wonders.

-Always making time each day to read my Bible. I've not once compromised on this since I got saved and never will.

I'm quitting smoking and my caffeine addiction.

I've been learning to cook.

I'm saving up to move to Los Angeles to pursue screenwriting.

I'm self-educating on screenplays, the Hollywood industry, anything and everything to prepare myself for that road.

Estoy trabajando para llegar a ser fluido en español.

Recently I did Steptember to increase my activity level as well as raise money for a charity.

I am reading a lot books on faith and Christian education/teaching for a new job that I will start next year.

Other than that, I think I will have to look into some other things... I have a few ideas but I am have yet to take the plunge...

I'm reading the Bible more and enjoying life a bit more. Making me happier.
What kind of church background did you get accustomed to at first when you started out? Was it more oriented toward discipline or was it more easy going and care free?

I have been to Lutheran church, which I found to be oriented on discipline.

Right now, I don't really go to church, but I'm going to go back to this nondenominational church I have been to and become a real member, I think.

Not to change the subject, but you ask good questions and are a fellow schizophrenic. I'm adding you to my friends list.

-Constantly taking inventory of myself and my actions. Working on being more prompt in admitting where there has been wrongdoing on my part and apologizing. Taking active steps to change ways of thinking, acting, etc. that I find to be unhealthy. Also, taking inventory of areas in my life where I might have fears or resentments so that I can let those go as well.
-Developing routine in my life so that I can accomplish my goals.
-Drinking shakes for breakfast and lunch and counting calories to achieve fitness goals.
-Using good, healthy joys and means to keep me away from vices or poor coping mechanisms.
-Creating/maintaining a budget.
-Surrounding myself with supportive community.

Improving my mental health. Which opens its own doors..
Like working in a mental health hospital rather than being admitted there. Do you remember the poster, Keri, that used to frequent here?
