I guess I'd say there is a lot new under the sun, as we can't a few people spending out time sheparding a few sheep out on the hills of Jordon. Since Ecclesiastes is bout the meaning of life, that does ring true form that perspective. There are a lot of entertaining activities, way more than Solomon had to try out even as King of Israel. Yet just like Solomon we wouldn't mind find meaning in those if we don't have God in our life.

I think it is human nature to look for meaning in things. But they only provide meaning for a limited amount of time. Meaning is found in God our creator as Eccl.12 indicates. I think we can broaden that to be God and people as the two commandments are to love God and to love people.

I had a couple of scheduled medical test done and I just wanted to thank the Lord for being with me and everything He did for me. Everything came back fine. I so appreciate the calmness. God is good!

This has bothered me...

I was recently part of a thread here on CF that dealt with the issue of being a mature Christian. The Op had issues that they were dealing with and they were forthright about it. What bothers me is there was this individual who came in and started making accusations about sin and people going easy on that, where that really wasn't true. The person just basically projected and interjected things concerning sin that nobody said...just wasn't there.

But this is my issue...Are Christians ever able to tell the truth about our real walk in the Lord without someone coming along and being self righteous. I'm not talking about people who say they're Christians and are practicing blatant sin. I'm talking about the process of maturing spiritually in God and how messy that can actually be. Are we as Christians able to tell the truth about the process of sanctification or do we have to continue to have a "form of godliness" because some people can't be honest?

quiet .. when I was young I was that person that both lived hiding my sanctification process and judging others on how their sanctification process was going. Like I was so smart that I knew better than God how to sanctify them! And I was ashamed of how messy my sanctifying process was. But I knew God was love and that He loved people who love Him. I remember how shocked I was when one pastor said remember when a person ask forgiveness for a sin they are obeying God. Gradually the Holy Spirit got me to the place were I let God do the work and I just love people. Now I know how much it took God to get me here so I can be gracious to others.

I understand...it just made me really think back to when I was a baby Christian and even young in the Lord and how it was made very clear that there was no room for imperfections or mistakes of any kind. Either you were deemed perfect by "leadership" or you cast out by those same people. So here years later when I see that same kind of stuff, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention the fact that regarding the thread, we don't know how many other people had the same struggles and decided to back away...smh.

Awwwww man I didn't even know...Half.com is no more. They shut down on August 31, 2017. I just happened to go by there and was redirected. I liked that little site. Over the years I bought books, CD's, and DVD's from them. I always got great deals there. Half.com was actually one of the major sites that helped me have confidence in on-line shopping. I'm gonna miss them...

Health concerns which could be very serious, emotional struggles, work problems, and new job search all weigh heavy on my mind right now. However my thoughts keep wandering back to Scripture and I crave deep discussion about God and Jesus and how to live rightly. I find comfort in talking with brothers and sister in Christ right now.

I hope it all goes well for you. Just reading your post reminds of the many times I have faced the same struggles and I am so glad that you are recalling scripture and finding comfort at the time.
