The Ten Commandments very clearly show, that the Lord God Almighty, of the Holy Bible, ALONE must be worshiped and served. As there is NO other true God, ALL other “worship” and “service” is false and to the devil, and must NEVER be done.

I [am] the Lord your God…You shall have no other gods besides Me…you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, [am] a jealous God” (Exodus 20:1, 3, 5)

Jesus Himself said to Satan, when He was being tempted: “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (Matthew 4:10).

It is very clear from the Teaching of the Holy Bible, that “Worship” is ONLY to be directed to the One True Living God. There are many instances in the Old Testament, where God punished the Israelites, for their forsaking of Him, and “serving” false “gods” and “idols” they had made from themselves, instead of Himself.

And, yet we read it said of God the Father : “But when He again brings the Firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him” (Hebrews 1:6). If, as some teach, that Jesus Christ is a “created being”, then, it is IMPOSSIBLE for God the Father to command the angels to “WORSHIP” Jesus Christ. As Romans 1: 25 warns against, “worshiping and serving” a created being, than the Living God, which shows beyond any doubt, that Jesus Christ CANNOT be a “created being”. It is interesting that the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who deny that Jesus Christ is Almighty God, and blasphemously teach that He is a created being, actually admit the WORSHIP of Jesus in their Kingdom Interlinear Translation, where they translate Hebrews 1:6, “But when he again brings the First-born into the inhabited earth, he says: ‘let all God’s angels worship him”. (pages, 964-965. Emphasis mine). However, in their New World Translation, they use the English word, “obeisance”, instead of “worship”. This is done to show that Jesus Christ is not “worshiped” in the Bible, and therefore cannot be “equal” to Jehovah. The word “worship” is from the Greek verb, “proskuneo”, which has the meanings: “worship, do obeisance to, prostrate oneself, do reverence to” (Colin Brown, Gen. Editor; New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, Vol. II, p.875).

As a created being cannot be “worshiped”, which is Biblically right. However, it has nothing to do with being honest with what the Bible actually says, but to promote their unbiblical heresies about the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Their bias is very clearly seen from their English versions, when the Greek word is used for Jesus Christ, it is rendered in English by “obeisance”, and when used for God the Father, it is “worship”. Why the need to distort what the Bible actually says about Jesus Christ, if, as the Jehovah’s Witnesses claim, that it does not teach that Jesus Christ is Almighty God? They also corrupt the Greek of Revelation 3:14, where they have mistranslated “he arche tes ktiseos tou theou”, by, “the beginning of the creation BY God”, so as to make Jesus as the first to have been created. The Greek is in the genitive case, and can only here be rendered in English, “OF God”. On the Greek word “arche” (beginning), Joseph Thayer says, “, "arche...that by which anything begins to be, the origin, active cause...he arche tes ktiseos, of Christ as the divine logos, Rev.iii.14" (Greek-English Lexicon, p.77. Emphasis mine). Thayer was a Unitarian, and like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, denied the Holy Trinity, and Deity of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. His definition of the actual Greek word is quite right here, as it very clearly shows that Jesus Christ Himself is THE CREATOR, and NOT a “created being”. Thayer here shows what the Greek says, and not what his own preconceptions (or, misconceptions) about the Person of Jesus Christ might have been. We also know of the corruption of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, in John 1:1, in their New World Translation, where it reads, “Word, In the and beginning the Word was with the God, and the Word was a god” (note says, or, “was divine”). In another of their versions, the Emphatic Diaglott, which I think they no longer publish, the English text on the right-hand reads: “In the Beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God”. YES, it does says “God”, and NOT “a god”, or “divine”! May be this was the reason they stopped publishing this version. I also recently pointed out to some Jehovah’s Witnesses, whom I was witnessing to about Jesus Christ, that their own New World Translation, published in 2013, reads in Isaiah 9:6, about Jesus Christ, “His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”. YES, again “Mighty God”. Clearly their OWN Bible teaches that there are TWO PERSONS Who are called “God”.

Let us take a closer look at the use of the Greek “proskuneo”, when it is used for Jesus Christ. And also when used for humans and angels.

When Jesus Christ was born, the wise men asked about Him, saying: “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him…And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him” (Matthew 2:2). Again, because of wickedness, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have again translated “obeisance”, so as to reduce its meaning when used for Jesus. Their deception is very clear from their mishandling of the Greek, which can be seen from just two chapters in Matthew, where we read of the devil tempting (testing) Jesus Christ, where, in verses 9 and 10 the Greek “proskuneo” has been translated by “worship”. Every time the word is used for Jesus Christ, it is “obeisance”, and used for God, it is “worship”. Very simply, because to have “worship” for Jesus, would be to admit the TRUTH about Him, and show that their own teaching about Jesus Christ to be FALSE. It is beyond me, that they can so blatantly LIE about what they teach, and feel they are right in doing so. It is spiritual BLINDNESS, which is their OWN doing, as the Apostle Paul says in Acts 28, “And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes” (v.27).

In the Book of Acts, we read the account of Peter visiting Cornelius: “As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped [him]. But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man” (10:25-26). Likewise, in the Book of Revelation, we also read of the Apostle John, “ And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See [that you do] not [do that!] I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (19:10). And, again in chapter 22, “ Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Then he said to me, “See [that you do] not [do that]. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God” (vs.8-9)

In each case, the “worship” offered was refused as Peter and the angel were not Deity, to accept such “worship”, but mere created human beings, like Cornelius and the Apostle John.

However, in each case where Jesus Christ is said to have been “Worshiped”, not ONCE did He say, “you must not do that, as I am just like you”, or such words, which, He would have done, IF He were also a created being:

Matthew 8:1-4; “When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Mark 1:40; “Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”

Matthew 9:18-19; “ While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples”.

Mark 5:22-23; “ And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live”

Matthew 14:33; “Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God”

Matthew 15:24-26; “But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs”

Mark 7:25; “For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet”.

Matthew 20:20-21; “Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. And He said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom”

Matthew 28:9-10, 16-17; “And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me… Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted”.

Luke 24:51-53; “Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen”

In Matthew chapter 4 we have the account of the temptation of the Lord Jesus Christ, by the devil. Where we read: “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (vs, 8-10). In yet another lie to Jesus, the devil “promises” Him “all the kingdoms of the world and their glory”, if Jesus were to “worship” him. In the first place, the “kingdoms of the world” are NOT the devil’s to “give”, to anyone. In the second place, and more importantly, in the Book of Revelation is says, “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become [the kingdoms] of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”. Here ALL the kingdoms of this world are said to belong to “our Lord [God the Father] and His Christ”. The Greek is interesting here, “basileusei”, which is in the SINGLUAR number, “HE shall reign”. But, surely this cannot only refer to Jesus Christ, and must also include the Father, as “The kingdoms of this world”, belong to BOTH, as BOTH are KING. This can also be seen from chapter 20, “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years”. The Greek here has it, “tou theou kai tou christou”, where TWO PERSONS are clearly meant. And, like that in 11:15, the pronoun “autou” (Him) is in the SINGLUAR number. Only possible where BOTH the Father and Jesus Christ are Almighty God, NOT, if the Father is God and Jesus a created being. This is how Jesus can say in John 10:30, “I and the Father, one [singular neuter] we are [masculine plural]” (literal). TWO PERSONS, ONE NATURE.

In Matthew 4, you will see the words of Jesus Christ to the devil about “Worship”. It is very clear from this, that true “Worship”, is ONLY to God, and can NEVER be to a created being. In Romans chapter 1 we are told, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen” (vs. 18, 25). Which clearly forbids the worship of any created being. The passages that are in the New Testament, where “Worship”, is given to Jesus Christ, and ACCEPTED by Him with no objection, can ONLY show that Jesus Himself believed that He is Almighty God, and COEQUAL to the Father. There is no way that Jesus would have accepted “Worship”, which He himself said is to be given to “God”, if He were a created being. This is an IMPOSSIBILITY.

In the Book of Isaiah we read, “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath”. Almighty God is here the Speaker, and says, that to HIM, and HIM ALONE, “every knee shall bow”. The Apostle Paul, who wrote under the guiding of the Holy Spirit, says this about Jesus Christ, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. In the Emphatic Diaglott, published by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Scripture reference in the footnote for this verse, is Isaiah 45:23, thereby connecting the two. So, here we have the Apostle Paul take a passage from the Old Testament, which speaks of “Worship” to Almighty God, and applies it DIRECTLY to the Lord Jesus Christ. And, not only this, but further says that by doing this, it brings GLORY to God the Father! Can any honest person ever say, that such language could be used for someone who is a mere created being? Only if they are very much DELUDED.

In Revelation chapter 5, we have the whole of creation WORSHIP God the Father AND Jesus Christ EQUALLY.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, the Blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the might, be to Him that sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped” (vs. 13-14)

Note in the Greek text the use of the definite article “THE”, with “blessing”, etc., which denotes “ALL the blessings, the honour, the glory, the might”, there is in the universe, belong to BOTH the Father and Jesus Christ EQUALLY. You cannot separate this, as it very clearly says, “AND to the Lamb”. And then we read that the 4 beasts and 24 elders, “fell down and worshiped”. Again, the “Worship” cannot be said for “Him that sits on the throne”, only, and not “to the Lamb”. BOTH the Father and Jesus are EQUALLY honoured and praised, and BOTH WORSHIPED.

This “unity of Persons” can clearly be seen in Revelation 22, where we read: “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb…And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him” (vs, 1, 3). The Greek text is interesting here. In verse 1 we have, “tou thronou tou theou kai tou arniou” (the throne of God and of the Lamb). The word “thronou”, is in the singular number, and “God” and the “Lamb” (Jesus Christ), are clearly separate Persons. The same is in verse 3, with the addition of, “hoi douloi autou latreusousin autoi” (His servants shall serve Him), where, “autou” and “autoi” are in the masculine singular. Grammatically, these pronouns would refer to the nearest Person, which is the Lord Jesus Christ. However, as it is clear from the context, that BOTH the Father and Jesus Christ are “joint-Rulers”, that the “subjects” must be to BOTH EQUALLY. The language does show the “unity of Person and essence”, not that the Father and Son are “one and the same Person” (which is shown not to be the case with the use of the Greek article, “tou” [the], with each Person, and the conjunction, “kai” [and]), but, that their “Personal unity” is so close, that it can ONLY be because they are ONE ESSENCE, and therefore, God the Father and God the Son. I see no other explanation from the original Greek language and construction. Here, like chapter 5, we have BOTH the Father and the Son WORSHIPED EQUALLY. Joint SERVICE to BOTH PERSONS.

The Holy Bible, which is The Word of Almighty God to mankind, and therefore the HIGHEST Authority that we have on ALL matters it deals with; is clear to the FACT, that Jesus Christ is WORSHIPED EQUALLY with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
