because they are more ignorant about a subject than you are.
1 cor 1:27 "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.…"

you've never actually depicted the level of understanding the bible one would expect of a person that has actually dedicated time to studying it.
I have read the Bible at least 5 times. I have a photo of the wore out Bibles to prove it. How many times have you read the Bible?

There is a distinct difference between reading and studying. I am reasonably certain I have not read the Bible even once. I deliberately missed out all the begats. On the other hand, I have studied portions of it in detail.

Bible study involves, as I hope you will agree, measured contemplation of the words, supplemented by diligent reference to a variety of commentaries by theologians of different perspectives. Few people can have applied that to the entire Bible, unless it was their profession.

A few "wore (sic) out Bibles" is hardly evidence of anything, certainly not validation of your Biblical scholarship.

All you have to do is get rid of your TV. I put mine in my closet and I found out that I had plenty of time to read the Bible. We need the Holy Spirit of God to guide us and lead us into the truth. God helps us to understand what we are reading if we pray and ask for understanding.

I notice you repeat that you have read the Bible and not that you have studied it.

I note you avoid any reference to reading and studying the work of experienced theologians and commentators.

It seems your approach to study is not one likely to afford you a true and sound understanding of the Bible. It also casts further doubt on all of your interpretations of Biblical matters.

Yup -- we want them to come out as confused as possible, don't we?

Tithe gross or net?

Was Jesus crucified with 4 others or 2?

Was Jesus crucified on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday?

Did the Israelites cross the Red Sea or Sea of Reeds?

Was the Flood local or global?

Consubstantiation, transubstantiation, or memorial?

Sacraments or ordinances?

To include the Apocrypha or not?

Yup -- I feel sorry for church hoppers.

I really do.

Their roots are so deep, a summer breeze could blow them away.

Would you say it's more important to be associated with one church --- any church --- than it is to never settle in a constant search for truth?

I have studied the Bible lots and lots and lots. Mostly I do that online using Strongs and other reference material. No one has ever questioned me on this, what point are you trying to make? If I know more about something then 98% of the people then why question me on it? What does that have to say for all the people that have never even read their Bible once? What does that say for the people that do read the Bible but they skip over the begats so they do not comprehend the genealogies in the Bible? It is no wonder that they question that Adam was a real man that lived around 6,000 years ago because they skip over all that stuff and they don't read it.

We do not need man to teach us anything, we have the Holy Spirit of God. It is interesting to see what God is doing in the lives of our fellow Christian, but I want it first hand and not handed from person to person to person. I do not what to know what other people say they said.

Any church?

Absolutely not.

As long as it's an independent, fundamental, Baptist church that preaches KJB only.

-_- reading a book 5 times wouldn't wear it out, nor would seeing pictures of the worn out bible provide any evidence that the reason for the wear was because YOU read it and not someone else.

I'm not claiming you haven't read it. I'm claiming you haven't studied it. What do you know of the culture of the people that wrote it? Of the various translations and their history? These are the sorts of things people that have studied the bible should know about.

How many times have you read the Bible?
Cover to cover 3 times. Although, I am certain that I have read some of the books of the bible more than a dozen times. KJV twice and NIV once.

If you were concerned about confusion, you wouldn't promote the KJV so much.
Sorry about your confusion.

Perhaps you're being taught things in higher academia that go against what It says?

Ya think?

Not saying I was confused by it, silly. But you are well aware that the KJV has sentence structure that is very different from how people currently speak, which can be a source of confusion.

Only what you think it says. My "higher academia" was conducted by Roman Catholics, who didn't think the things they taught went against what they (and I) thought it said.

Didn't you jump me once for using big words, when simpler words would do?

Oh, it's not a matter of vocabulary. It's the sentence structure.

This is how the KJV puts Isaiah 2:2-5
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

And this is how the NIV puts the same thing:

2 In the last days

the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it.
3 Many peoples will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
5 Come, descendants of Jacob,
let us walk in the light of the Lord.

The meaning doesn't really change, and they both have similar vocabulary, but the sentence structure is very different.
