Let them keep doing what they're doing though - the NFL ratings will continue to tank and its players will get salaries closer to what they deserve.

LOL. They really won't. I love the claim that the Right are making right now. How amazingly ignorant they are.

Claims of the Entertainment Industry are dying because the world view is against Trump. I love that argument too.

Every time from now on when there's a Slump in Sales blame it on how it's because they hate Trump.

Sports Industry is one of the biggest industries in the world, Good Luck with that, going to get mad at Starbucks again because it doesn't say Merry Christmas? How well did that go again?

What about Boycotting Star Wars because of it's Anti-White Supremacist Stance some people working on the movie had? How well did that work out?

Economy goes up and down, how well the entertainment Business depends also on how well people are doing. Seeing Small Dips in Ratings and some attendance is nothing new, there are also plenty of other factors as to why Attendance has been down.
Saying it's dying is nothing but Fake News republicans buy so easily into these days.
Trump's Mostly False claim that NFL ratings are 'way down'

Incidentally, during the Falcons/Lions and Seahawks/Titans games, even the singers took a knee...

SEE IT: Two national anthem singers take knees at NFL games

Hopefully this trend of refusing to stand for the national anthem will spread to other professional football teams and eventually find its way through the whole realm of sports. Personally speaking, I would like to see a decline of nationalism and American Exceptionalism in sports. I would like to see that happen elsewhere as well, but a decline in professional sports is a good start, in my opinion.

Politifact, in its typical fashion when talking about Trump's statements, classifies it as mostly false, by quibbling about the magnitude of the trend Trump has been describing, and by citing irrelevant figures about other sports leagues, essentially turning the President's statement into a straw man.

NFL ratings have been falling for years, and the trend isn't stopping this year. When your ratings are heavily dependent on white males, a demographic that voted two to one for Trump, antics like this certainly don't help.

NFL ratings have fallen significantly across all providers over the past seasons and so far 2017 is not looking any better. The only positive element to that decline may be that fewer people have to watch the sad sight of the Los Angeles Rams playing in front of a mostly empty stadium at the Coliseum.

Facts are hard to understand for some people.

Not a big Deal when Trump is one of the most disliked Presidents and Trump himself doesn't even get why they were Kneeling in protest.

ESPN was already in Decline, this isn't anything new. To say This is the cause is a huge lie.

most of the other major games were down anywhere from 3 percent to 28 percent. CBS's Sunday games, for instance, were down about 10 percent from last year. The Hollywood Reporter reported that ratings were down 15 percent in Week 2, even after ratings
They also reported

It's not all doom and gloom of course. Last year, 31 of the Top 100 programs on TV were NFL games, and Michael Nathanson of MoffettNathanson predicted last week that NBC's Sunday Night Football and ESPN's Monday Night Football would grow their audiences this year over last year based on better matchups.

Plus, NFL Network says its Thursday Night Football broadcast of the Houston Texans beating the Cincinnati Bengals drew 8.1 million viewers, up 32 percent over the average of four Thursday night games on the network last year. The exclusive presentation of that contest was also the most-streamed regular season game ever across NFL Mobile by Verizon and the NFL's digital properties.

Fake news media won’t show empty stadiums, sad really, so under performing and unpopular. Lowest ratings so far. ESPN. Sad really. a lot of people are talking. Disloyal players and owners. They hate America. Sad. So rich. Taking all that money but they are oppressed. Sad.

Nobody has a constitutional right to protest at work.

Their bosses don't seem to care. Looks like the free market at work to me. If you don't like it, start your own team and require your players to do whatever you feel you must.

Well that's interesting,

every veteran I know, myself included, along with several veterans groups I am currently active with, with the exception of perhaps two individuals, think the multimillionaire players have no purpose in bringing politics into sports.

Except when they're expected to act in a particular way for the patriotic presentations at the start of each game, of course. The ones which the military paid for. Nothing political there, obviously.

How many of you guys that are complaining about our country are actually working and having a job that pays taxes?????

Statistics show 43% of americans are on government handouts while the rest of us work our rear ends off to pay for these guys to sit around and protest in our streets and complain about police brutality....

I'm pretty sure the NFL players Trump attacked sit around a lot less than you do. And they probably pay quite a bit more in taxes as well. That's not a road I'd advise going down.

Why is everything always racists against blacks.......

What about Trump sticking up for black police oficers.....
What about Trump trying to get rid of ilegals and keep, drugs out of the hands of black kids in the inner cities.......
What about Trump trying to put up a wall so the drug war in chicago wont kill 500 kids most of whom are black....
454 to be exact this year......

Nice attempt at distracting from Trump calling sports figures names I can't repeat here without getting a warning. But I guess at least the fact you're not trying to defend him for doing so is progress.

No, I don't. The only thing separating them from a career flipping burgers is the fact that many Americans are willing to pay their hard earned money to watch them run across fields and catch balls. I can't fault them for taking advantage of the fact, but this how they thank this country?

Yes, by using their fame and media access to draw attention to something that can be improved in this country. From what you're writing you make that sound like a bad thing.

I don't even watch football so I really don't care what they end up doing but I say if people want to see pointless forced patriotism so bad they should put that into the player's contract that they have to now forfeit their free expression (how's that for celebrating America?!) and stand for the national anthem every time it plays or they can be subject to fines. Yay freedom!

They're already human billboards for corporations, might as well make them billboards for America Inc. too.
