Exactly. I for one, do not consider myself a Protestant and have different view of the way many of the eschatological scriptures are interpreted...and wonder why so many that identify as "Messianic" read them that way. It was my understanding that we were identifying as Messianic to relate our faith as a Jewish branch of The Faith, not an extension on an evangelical church. Make no doubt about it, these "end time" prophesies are straight out of evangelical Protestantism.

I for one am excited to celebrate the High Holy Days this year. :)

In my thoughts nothing is going to happen, not that I don't want it to.

But I reckon it is all just a lie. Pass the 23rd, after a lot of Christians putting their hope on that day are going to feel depressed and sad that nothing has happened. Let's not give Satan an edge.

This is a social phenomenon, it is not even a vaguely interesting thing. These predictions and "prophecies" happen every year, every month probably, except the media only picks it up every now and then.

If we somehow were to hear about EVERY SINGLE prophecy and prediction, we would be inundated with it.

As a protestant, most of us don't believe the nonsense. Please don't lump us all in together lol.
the guy who made the prediction is to my understanding a protestant. edit: i understand most protestants don't believe this, of course....nor did i say most protestants believe this. i honestly doubted ANYONE believed this until i checked up on this forum.

What's the matter with you people?! There have been major hurricanes, one of the bigger jewish holidays is coming up, America is on the tip of the brink of the precipice of the verge of disagreeing in some vague undefined way with unknown parties who might be from North Korea (or Russia) and it's the month of September!!

The only possible conclusion is that it's time for me to eat a cheeseburger.

Peace!

If the end is nigh, make it a double cheeseburger and put some bacon on that thing.

I like the sept 23 prediction not because I thought it was prophetic but because it was kind of creative. I've been listening to this stuff for years, Y2K, the blood moon and a long list of prophecy conferences. I must say, I've never seen a more interesting one right down to this being a jubilee year:

Judah Ben Samuel’s prophecy about the nation of Israel and the messianic era and has translated the highlights of it into English and other languages for the magazine Israel Today.

The prophecy involves the Jubilee Year cycle every 50 years. I should point out there’s much controversy about pinpointing Jubilee Years because they have not been observed in Israel since ancient times, while no one is 100 percent certain about when they should occur on the modern Hebrew calendar.

However, in the year Judah Ben Samuel died, 1217, he prophesied that the Ottoman Turks would rule over the holy city of Jerusalem for eight Jubilees. Now, keep in mind, he made this prediction 300 years before the Turks seized control of Jerusalem in 1517. In fact, the Ottoman Empire, as it would become to be known, did not even really exist yet in 1217. (Could 2017 be a jubilee year?)

It goes on to describe the establishment of Palestine as a Jewish homeland in 1917 and 1967 when Jerusalem was partly annexed during the six days war. While I'm not big on Jewish mysticism and certainly don't expect something dramatic to happen this Saturday, I must admit, they got my attention with this one.

Grace and peace,
Mark

A few weeks ago, my state experienced a partial eclipse, an earthquake and a hurricane all in the same week.

Needless to say, it was exhausting.

It's been a bad year for hurricanes, hope all is well for you are your state. I was listening to a reporter that spoke with a rescue worker in Portia Rico I think it was, she said he broke down in tears and then got up to try to get people out of a collapsed building.

Anyway, I don't see a lot of prophetic significance in all of this.

Rosh Hashana begins at sundown on wednesday 20th September 2017, but i'm sure something will happen 23rd september, because some protestant said so ;)
If you prophecy often, then you will eventually be right. Right? The Islamic terrorist are always looking to ruin the holidays.

Following the earthquake in Mexico at 7.1, there were two more, off the shore of New Zealand and Japan by a few hundred miles... There is a whole lot of shifting doing on too... Many events, earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, fires, etc around the world..
