Well as you must believe the Jerusalem church, many of whom had been Christ's disciples gave gentile converts a licence to sin. And as you must believe Paul preached a licence to sin also, I wonder which one of us is being led of the holy spirit and which one is not

Jesus reserved his harshest words for the religious who did not practice what they preached/ demanded of others

Why was righteousness non existent in the Pharisees?

They tithed their money down to their last mint dil and cumin. Went to the synagogue every Saturday, avoided the Levitical unclean foods, did good deeds that everyone could see. They knew the literal words of the then scriptures inside and out. They would not have gotten drunk, used foul language, had extra marital affairs, not smoked I imagine if smoking had then been invented. And they insisted the law must be obeyed. They even laid flowers on the graves of the prophets murdered by their forefathers and said: we would never gave acted as they did.
So what was the problem?
They hinged their hope of heaven on obeying the law, and in doing so neglected the love of God( Luke 11:42) and they demanded of the people what they did not demand of themselves, thereby crushing them, and thereby failing to love their neighbour.

They lived without the two greatest commandments on which the entire law hung

Nice statement. But you do commit sin. You say you love Gods word and stand on it. Therefore you would admit to sin in your life if you do.

The Pharisees pinned their hope of heaven on obeying the law, that would be the basis of their judgement. In doing so, they neglected the love of God.
They preached the letter to the people( they could have used a computer if it were then invented) and they insisted the people must obey that letter to the full. They crushed their neighbour with impossible demands they themselves did not even try to keep.
They failed to love their neighbour

Let me refresh your memory. I asked if your minister preaches your view, that when Paul became born again of the Holy Spirit/ became a new creation with a new nature, sin then took occasion of one of the TC to arouse all manner of concupiscence/ lust/ sexual desire in Paul, made him a far worse sinner and slew him by it
