It's six thousand, six hundred and sixty six.
Ignoring the former 6 would indeed make it 666, but you can't ignore it.
The numbers separated by the commas aren't distinct numbers, rather factors in the existing number, as evidenced by the fact that there is a former 6 in the thousands place.
