Do we lose our sexuality in heaven?

I agree with Jesus that there is no marriage in heaven and that we become like the angels, which are genderless.

I'm glad to know that you agree with Jesus

We need to be careful, I think, about projecting too much of our understanding of how marriage works back onto a very different time and culture.

At the time that Jesus said it, Jews typically believed that angels didn't normally have sexual relationships or any manner of marriage. The Sadducees that he was speaking to typically did not believe in angels at all.

Jesus’ answer to the Sadducees that, “at the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage” seems not to apply to marriage in general, but specifically to the subject of Levirate marriage. If we unpack this statement in a Levitcal context, Our Lord is saying no bridal price will be issued as no one will be given in marriage.

Might not a part of the reason for Jesus’ response be the way that the woman was being treated like a possession, passed around from man to man as an inheritance (albeit potentially a rather burdensome one)? We need to be careful, I think, about projecting too much of our understanding of how marriage works back onto a very different time and culture. Jesus’ response could have simply been about marriage as a contract, a contract which terminates on death. Relationships are a different matter, whether sexual or otherwise.

This is all very interesting, indeed. However, the difficulty does remain that if one is married to a spouse eternally and engages in marital relations in heaven, but one has been married to more than one spouse, to which one is one married in heaven?

John Kilgallen is a catholic scholar who has held for a long time, that there would be "marriage" in the resurrection: “Though Jesus does not say who wife the widow will be in the next life, it is reasonable to assume she will be the wife of the first husband, whose life was ended here, but will continue forever (with her) in the resurrected life.”

This could be quite unfortunate if the first husband was a brute who cruelly abused her and her second husband was the exact opposite.

marriage is not legalism. everyone will be joined to their perfect other via Gods eternal love and wisdom. and the two shall be one and this one is an angel, thus angels do not get married because they already are such.

what is of the flesh is flesh and what is of the spirit is spirit. the flesh knows the ways of the flesh and the spirit knows the ways of the spirit.

Who knows? It does make things problematic, however, which led to the question from the Saduccees regarding the woman who had been married to the seven brothers, lawfully. I agree with Jesus that there is no marriage in heaven and that we become like the angels, which are genderless.
Who neither marry nor are given in marriage means they are single, they are not married and they are not engaged to anyone to be married. No where in the bible does it say the angels are gender-less but to the contrary it indirectly says they are all male. Genesis 6:4 specifically says they married the daughters of men, or Adam. But they were not given permission by God to do so but being of free will they did anyway. The angels who are in heaven did not but there is a possibility that God has a plan for them as well, to have wives and children and families, at the proper time. There is a need for procreation into eternity, to fill the vast and endless universe and to fulfill the prophetic saying, "And of the increase of His government there will be no end".
Our marriages of the flesh will no longer be binding, as a covenant ends at the death of either one. Our marriage in the kingdom will be with that perfected and holy man or woman who will be a different being altogether, we will be like Christ, physical and spiritual. This is also why He didn't marry, there wasn't a woman compatible with Him physically or spiritually.
Beware of the people and the scientist and whoever else comes along, and they will, that claim they now know what happened in our past and where we came from, all you have to do is watch the History Channel. I believe that will be the big lie, the great deception that God brings on the world in this end-time.

So, we all end up as men in heaven. Interesting.

No, where did you get that? We are NOT going to be angels we are going to be like Christ, literal children of God. And we don't end up in heaven, Christ is returning to earth and we will rule with Him for a thousand years and then on to the universe.

This is also why He [Christ] didn't marry, there wasn't a woman compatible with Him physically or spiritually.

You don't know that's the reason. If he had married, then he would have had children. Then we'd be in a pickle having to deal with an entire race of people descended from the Son of God. Where would that land us? No thanks.

There is a need for procreation into eternity,....

Immortal beings don't need to reproduce. There's no evidence that God wants the entire universe populated or that anything but Earth is ours to inhabit.

So, we all end up as men in heaven. Interesting.

That's not my idea of interesting.

I suspect at some point you will lose interest in sex.

Note: The following question is serious and is not meant to be crude.

Will female resurrected bodies have clitorises?

The female [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] is the only organ designed solely for sexual pleasure. It serves no vital or direct function in urination, menstruation, or conception. It is made up of erectile tissue and thousands of sensitive nerve endings.

So, if you don't believe there will be sex on the New Earth, you have to believe in one of two options:

1. That females on the New Earth do not have clitorises.
2. That females on the New Earth have numb clitorises.

However, there exists a third option that isn't so ludicrous. I believe female resurrected bodies will be both whole and functional.

Apparently not, at least according to danstribe who has speculated that we will be like angels, all of whom are male. He actually has some scripture to base that speculation upon. Do you?

We know that angels can have sexual desire and can have sex. Here are the biblical and extrabiblical accounts:

Genesis 6:1-4
Jude 6-7
1 Enoch 6–19; 21; 86-88; 106:13-15, 17
Jubilees 4:15, 22; 5:1
Damascus Document 2:17-19
1QapGen 2:1
Targum Pseudo-Jonathon of Genesis 6:1-4
Testament of Reuben 5:6-7
Testament of Naphtali 3:5
2 Apocalypse of Baruch 56:10-14

Ignoring the fact that most of your references are from unorthodox sources which are about as valid as the Kama Sutra in determining Christian belief, we are still faced with the apparent evidence that angels only have one gender - male.

What about Zechariah 5:9?

Indeed, what about it?

Zechariah 5:9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.
