Because he is a Jewish man
>>>Jesus sure seemed to believe 70 AD was the coming of the Lord.<<<
This interpretation has no sense. It's tare.
>>>Matthew 21:40-41- 40 “Therefore, when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?” 41 They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”<<<
Oseas said,
John 5:43 isn't a verse of prophecy!
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Jesus is simply saying that he has come in his Fathers name, but IF another shall come in their OWN name him the would receive! Jesus is stating what we would call a 'hypothetical situation."
Thayer on the word IF...
...is a conditional participle which makes reference to time and experience introducing something future, but not determining, before the event, whether it is certainly to take place.
I don't follow...
Are you saying Matthew 21:40-41 was NOT fulfilled in 70AD?

Another judge, huh? I would never call YOU evil.
I refuse to debate you or your judgemental rhetoric. I see the good news (Gospel), not the ignorance of it. There appears to be no love or patience in your post.
Yes. What is written? Mat.21: v.40
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
There was a difference. The Sadducee's were destroyed (by their own). The Pharisee's not so much.Friend, those wicked men to whom Jesus was DIRECTLY ADDRESSING, were indeed destroyed Miserably in 70AD.
THEY KNEW He was speaking of them:
21:45
45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they understood that He was speaking of them.
Why don't you understand what they did??
There is ONLY ONE EVENT that Jesus PROMISED them would result in their destruction.
Since they were destroyed as He promised, we can know with absolute certainty that ONE EVENT took place.
JESUS did not come yet.
Where were the Christians? Out of town, basically. Many had been driven out of Jerusalem by persecution decades earlier. Eusebius wrote that when the revolt began, in A.D. 66, some of the remaining Jewish Christians fled to Pella, a city across the Jordan River.
Indeed!
How did they know to flee?
Jesus Told them.
Look at these three parallel passages describing this same event:
Luke 21:20-23
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
Mark 13:14-19
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
Matthew 24:15-19
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Technically, Jesus did come, just not in the direction you are thinking. He came to the Father.
Daniel 7:13-14
13“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,a coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Jesus told the chief priests and whole Sanhedrin that they would see the event in Daniel 7:13-14:
You have said so,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”e
Jesus did come to the Father
Acts 2:34-35.
“ ‘The Lord said to my Lord:“Sit at my right hand 35until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” ’f
Revelation 3:21
21To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne
Ephesians 1:20
he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
1 Peter 3:22 a
22who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand
Jesus was given all authority, glory, power, dominion
Ephesians 1:21
21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come
1 Peter 3:22 b
with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him
Matthew 28:18
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me
Luke 24:25
25He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”
If you wrote this because I said in my reply JESUS did not come yet, then I see you have not the gift of the discernment of spirit.
If you would have used a little discernment yourself, you would have noticed I did NOT write the above because of you. I was writing to keras
You are correct my apologies, I thought I was on a different thread. That is a mistake on my part. I should have used better discernment.Sorry, it is not the case, it sounds like you're not telling the truth, I did not see anyone with the nickname keras in this topic which had written "Jesus did not come yet", but myself surely, replying Beorh #108 and #112 and Parousia #114, whose friends did write JESUS came in the year 70AD. It is not true, it is tares and need to be ripped out of the kingdom of God.
Why did Jesus tell his disciples they wouldn't finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes? (Mt. 10:23) Is it true they lived to see the coming of the son of man?
