Q was like a God in Star Trek but is impossible to think anyone would have the power to do anything with a snap of a finger that there would be any life out there with That ability
But more realistic was episode called Tin Man well there was a a space alien that swim through space like a fish swims through water
But also unrealistic as it may seem I often thought to myself the possibility all different kind of life-forms out there even our galaxy The Milky Way can be a life force
But all this is just random nonsense a highly unlikely that such a being could be
out there I am looking forward Star Trek Discovery premiering this month

We don't know if it's a minority. Logic would tell me it's not. In my view, every sun may have an earth, every earth may not have fallen, or SOME people did, and some didn't...???

What is the logical argument? I'd like to see that syllogism.

The logical argument is logic itself. God creates planets, we see his creation here on this earth, from a distance we see other suns. We know this sun has an earth with people, It's logical to assume that what we see here in this earth, is likely taking place on other earths, and things are close to the same.

That's my logic, and opinion of course. I think Earths with people on them are everywhere.

That's not logic, that's just opinion.

Here's an idea. Maybe God intended the universe to be populated, starting with earth. But Adam and Eve messed up, so the universe has been on hold until everything is settled down here.

Maybe, maybe not...but with just as much "logic" as your opinion.

The fact is that we don't have enough facts, and those we do have have all so far been negative.

No.

Evolution is myopic.

And besides, scientists don't know if there's life on our neighboring planets, let alone on our neighboring galaxies.

They'll keep searching though.

They have a lot of faith in themselves.

It's human arrogance you would think that we are the only intelligent life out there in space
With all the planets Stars and galaxies
But you also got to remember during Biblical times they didn't know about this stuff

We still don't actually know about any of that.

A number of years ago, I read an interesting article in Skeptic magazine (which is not religious by any means) that threw some skepticism on the idea that technological life could be common in the universe, based on the amazing string of coincidences that have resulted on technological civilization one this planet--and the fragility of it continuing even after it has begun. It might not even continue long enough on this planet, from a skeptical point of view, for the human race to reach the stars.

There are reasons to believe that our civilization might actually be one of the oldest possible civilizations in the universe, given that our star is one of the oldest stars that has remained as stable as it has been.

How far and how much of the universe has SETI been able to go or send a signal to to try and reach...?Also superior beings to us might have a kind of "prime directive" of sorts...

It's doesn't matter. Any one particular search is practically infinite. You should be able to find signals from an unlimited number of lifeforms in any one spot. Or at least ONE signal, spread everywhere, by one group, at some time.

But remember though, that the farther away the signal is expected to come, the farther back in time the signal will represent. And, again, that would have to be a civilization that was--'way back "then"--of such an advanced capability that they could modulate the power of a star...because nothing of less power would carry through the noise of other stars, interstellar dust, and other issues.

The problem with this kind of retrospective probability assessment is that it implicitly assumes that the way it happened is the only way it could have happened. Many apparent coincidences are an artefact of isolating the events from their larger context, or assuming a necessary outcome.

Everything in my house is there because of a lengthy and improbable string of coincidences - viewed retrospectively - but that would be true whatever I had in my house.

I am trying to explain why we see nothing. I'm not attempting to
create alien civilizations and explain why they are all hiding. One
of these approaches is not Science Fiction, the other is.

What if in the next 1000 or ten thousand or so, years we transcended or found out ways to exist and evolve beyond the physical, it happens very, very fast on the scale of how long a humanoid like race took to go from animal to God-like in their existence, it happened/happens very fast geologically... We are more than likely most of us, not existing at the same level or time as one another for the most part, we've only been sending these signals for how many years...?

And the reach (of SETI) is not very far either...

God Bless!

If you subscribe to the ToE and think life is rather more common than it is rare, then, you should, cause it is only logical in that case...

Cause there would have been beings like us, but long before us, who have already gone through the same as us, but are now way long past, and way, way beyond that/us, (where we are now)...

And with all this talk of A.I. or putting ourselves in computers and whatever else, all the advancements we are making now and some say within only the next 100 years, if we believe in ToE and that life is more common than rare, what did the somebodies before us do with all the advancements they made?, say, a 100,000 years or a million years, after us? The point is, They would have existed much, much longer than us, and been able to go way, way past where we are now... Did they figure out how to become like, or evolve into "Q" like beings, in their time before us here in this universe...

And would they be like God or angels...?

Comments...?

God Bless!

I have an article for you you may enjoy that seems to be on this topic.
