What is treasure in heaven? Is it money or is it spiritual things such as wisdom for example. Proverbs says that wisdom and understanding are better than gold.
Jesus.

I agree. I was going to say faith, love, and hope. Thank you for doing so.
My thought has been that faith and hope lead us to the greatest, that is, love, which is God, and apart from Him we are nothing.

I'm thinking things like house quality, possessions, prestige, and ranks that will last an eternity.

I agree. The rest of the verse reads, "where rust does not corrode, and where thieves do not break through and steal." :) I believe it's a reference especially to our heavenly mansions, and all the things they will be furnished with.

That scripture you are referring to seems to prove that our treasure is not on this earth at all. We can store our wealth in heaven instead of on earth.

Let's dig a little deeper...

"“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." ~ Matthew 6:19-21

Moths destroy clothing and fabrics, thieves steal things that are valuable to keep or sell, so I can assume this means possessions. I put a lot of value on my computer but it's eventually going to break down or become outdated. I can imagine in Heaven I'll have a computer that is like a world-class supercomputer on earth with perfect software and extensive features. I'll have to earn that possession while on Earth first.

"For this is what the Lord says: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant— to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever."
~Isaiah 56:4-5

Consider yourself a loser who could never get a spouse even if your life depended on it? No worries, you'll have a monument and a name that will bring you prestige among all the citizens of Heaven. God is aware that life isn't fair and that people like myself will miss out on so much in this life. An eternal reward for missing out on love and sexuality on Earth.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." ~John 14:2

Some translations say it's rooms, others say its mansions. Either way, its a physical dwelling place for yourself in Heaven. Sometimes we need a little alone time and we'll have our homes based on our reward.

"Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." ~Mark 10:28-30

Sounds to me like compensation for sacrificing your home and family with better homes, possessions, and prestige in Heaven.

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." ~2 Corinthians 4:17-18

People who suffered and were robbed of a normal, healthy life will receive prestige and experiences far greater in Heaven as compensation. Most of our greatest heroes endured suffering and got remembered by history for it. In God's eyes, the common man who suffers will be honored for his endurance by receiving reward such as honor and glory. I never got invited to parties as a teenager so I can imagine in Heaven I'll get invited to parties and actually be part of the fun as compensation.
Thanks for the scriptures. Im also looking for a better life in heaven.

Eyes have not seen nor ear heard........ concerning the things prepared for them that love him. I don't think we can compare anything on earth to the experience of life after. e.g. small house here....big mansion there, poor here, rich there etc.. Don't think we can compare the carnal things to the spiritual in any way.

As for the Treasures in heaven...I believe these are subjective to the person and are for now. Whatever you desire, you are supposed to obtain in heaven first and then pray....Thou will be done, on earth......as it is in heaven.....

That prayer says "give us our daily bread" and it doesnt say give us a huge mansion filled with expensive things, along with luxury cars and expensive clothes.

Just to make sure my position was clear, W2l, the "material" things will be the least of our treasures in Heaven, but they are referred to as part of our inheritance in the Lord (John 4:2). Certainly they are not to be compared with the true riches (wisdom and revelation, Luke 16:11), and those we bring with us into eternity (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20). But possessions are what is specifically being referred to in Matthew 6:19-21, which appeared to be the verse you were asking about with the wording you used.
