Because all of the folks that claim they're "listening to Jesus" aren't really hearing Jesus, and those that claim they are being "guided by the spirit" are really being guided by their human will/desires, and those that claim they're "going by what the bible says" are only going by their own interpretation of "what the bible says".

You're the exception of course. So George, please enlighten us all.

Only God is true and righteous.

You didn't answer the question: "And you, of course, are the only one who knows the true Jesus? You don't have a problem self-righteously condemning other Christians?"

I agree - the church is all true believers. What I said was in the context of the OP, not about the Biblical church. Modern denominations are a mockery of it.

Yes I agree there are many people who make assumptions based on pieces of the scriptures and teach them as being the word of God. To me I think it's best not to make any assumptions when it comes to God's word. Of course I have some theories of my own based on biblical teachings but I would never proclaim them to be the truth. When I do share them which is very rare I make certain to say that this is just a theory of mine. It's not written in the bible. It's not a belief just an idea of what could possibly be true. There's no point in believing in anything more than what the bible teaches. It provides us with all the information we need for salvation. If God had intended for us to know more He would've revealed it.

I believe in the seven churches as ages...

Ephesus - Messianic - Beginning with the Apostle to the Circumcision, Peter
Smyrna - Martyr - Beginning with the Apostle to the Un-Circumcision, Paul
Pergamos - Orthodoxy formed in this time... Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholicism formed in this time - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Wesleyism formed in this time - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
Laodicea - Charismatic movement formed in this time - Beginning with DL Moody, the first to make money off of ministry

Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; - Revelation 2:1

Jesus Christ walks among the seven congregations
He holds each of the seven stars, which are constellations holding millions of Christians, all in his right hand.

"Why are there so many Christian denominations?", you ask, and that is because many professing Christians do not value Bible-only and go off to start something they like. I recommend one see what God intends for His testimony in the world at the Biblecounsel web site, which seeks to set forth "unity of the faith" as God intended from the beginning, rather than the innovations of men. We surely won't be sitting around in Heaven in our own little sectarian corner, so we need to bow to God's Word FULLY now, I see.

Many-many people know the true Jesus. They are everywhere: in churches and outside them.
