MEASURES OF GRACE AND DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR
In Ephesians 4:7, Paul specifically addresses those who have a 5 fold ministry calling by saying, "But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ has APPORTIONED it" and at the beginning it says, "He gave SOME to be apostles.." meaning not everyone in the body of Christ is even called to the 5 fold ministry.
Did you know that current statistics say that 8 out of 10 people who graduate from bible college and seminary will not be in full time ministry within 5 years? That's too many saints to count graduating with thousands of dollars in debt who potentially never even had a 5 fold ministry call on their life.
As the family of God, it is imperative for all of us to understand that there are measures of grace that God Himself has given to His servants and not everyone has the same measures of grace. I will repeat myself: not everyone has the same measure of grace upon their life! This should be so comforting, so relieving, and so encouraging to all of us.
Unfortunately, we are living in a day and age where the internet has made it possible for anyone and everyone to compete in what I call the "rat race of religious ambition and pride" under the guise of "advancing the kingdom of God".
Because of this modern day religious phenomena, saints that do not even have a 5 fold ministry calling with grace to accompany it are trying to launch themselves into national apostolic traveling ministry simply because they want to be someone that God did not call them to be. Hundreds of young ministry leaders are trying to mimic what their spiritual father carries and they do not have nearly the measure of grace upon their life as he does. We have people that crave and strive for the influence and favor that their spiritual heroes carry when they do not carry the same measure of grace. Let me be clear again, every believer in Jesus Christ carries the grace of God upon their lives, but the measure of grace varies according to the calling and assignment on their life.
Thousands of saints are joining networks that are governed by 5 fold ministry leaders who do have tremendous amounts of grace upon their life, but connecting to their network or even being their friend does not at all mean that you will or ever will carry the measure of grace that God has given them on your life. Their favor and influence will not at all become your favor and influence. This is tremendous deception and an incredible disservice to the kingdom of God to tell "sons and daughters" that because we lay hands on them they will carry what we carry.
We all must rid ourselves of these delusions of grandeur and seek to discover the call and grace of God upon our lives and stop trying to be someone we are not. We must stay in our lane and fight jealousy and insecurity. I encourage you to refuse to join the religious rat race of selfish ambition and pride that is literally consuming most of the Charismatic Movement. It's totally okay if God has given you grace to prophesy to 10 people and you follow someone that has measures of grace to prophesy to millions. It's not a competition! It's totally okay if you enjoy learning about apostolic ministry but you certainly are not an apostle. It's not a competition! It's totally okay if you pastor a church of 50 people and the pastor who pours into you pastors a mega church. It's not a competition! You are officially relieved of being anyone but who God created you to be and what He has given you grace for.
I'm convinced that more than 50 percent of the ministries and networks being birthed in the Charismatic Movement right now are being fueled by delusions of grandeur and an inability to accept that some leaders will carry measures of grace upon their lives that we never ever will and instead of trying to compete or become just like them, we do not know how to rest in the Father's love and acceptance of our life that has absolutely nothing to do with ministry.
This exact subject was what Paul addressed when He said in Romans 12:3, "For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith."
May we all walk in humility, grace, and honor toward one another in this hour.'
