James 2:26 ..the body without the Spirit is Dead
so there goes the false immortal Spirit theory.
The body being dead does not mean the Spirit ceases to exist.. When the Spirit leaves the Body then the Body dies.. The Body is not what we are.. The body is the vehicle we experience this physical Creation through.. We are Spirit and the Bible reveals we shall never cease to exist..
Actually I disagree, we are not Spirit, but body and soul. When God breathe into us we became a living soul and we dwelled with the Spirit. We lost that when sin entered the world. That's why when Jesus left the earth, he left the Holy Spirit with us. To make us whole again (body, soul, spirit). So when someone believes in Jesus they are now made whole with the Holy Spirit. When we die, it's our soul that would leave the body. But having the Holy Spirit is what gonna bring us to eternal life.
It's up for debate though, so I would love to hear what you have to say about that. That's just my understanding.
(God) who only hath immortality 1 Timothy 6:15Body without spirit is dead , but spirit without body is not dead.
You are not body but spirit , body is just package .
KJV capitalizes Sririt, don't know what version you usebut it does not matter. 500or more of the oldest Greek Manuscripts were written majorscule in CAPS. Not to mention that it also says:1 Timothy 6:15...(God) only hath immortality..[DARBY] G110You really want our personal spirit to go away theologically. You really want the HS to be our spirit. Even to the point of misrepresenting the scripture above. I have corrected you on another thread about this same scripture, so here you are again misrepresenting this scripture on this new thread. This is a perfect example of what John was talking about when he talked about adding and taking away from the scriptures. This addition, changes the intent of James' teaching.
Here is the scripture:
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
You can see that the word 'spirit' is not captitalized. You can also see that the word 'dead' is not captitalized. By saying that the word 'spirit' is capitalized, you are saying that the 'spirit' that James is referring to is the HS, (which is always capitalized). James was not talking about the HS, (since it is not capitalized). James is talking about our own personal spirit, (which is never capitalized).
Then shall the dust return to the earth AS IT WAS and the spirit shall return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7You realize this verses is talking about spiritual death-- aka being cut off from God? It's not talking about just "normal" death- when a spirit leaves a mortal body.
We are not spirit we are flesh & blood, the spirit God gave us is a loan and is temporary. Why have a resurrection? I guess you have not read 2 Thessalonians 1:9 ? The penalty is destruction eternally for those who do not obey God.The body being dead does not mean the Spirit ceases to exist.. When the Spirit leaves the Body then the Body dies.. The Body is not what we are.. The body is the vehicle we experience this physical Creation through.. We are Spirit and the Bible reveals we shall never cease to exist..
2 Thessalonians 1:9; Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thu takest away their breath they die, and return to their dust. Psalms 104:29Actually I disagree, we are not Spirit, but body and soul. When God breathe into us we became a living soul and we dwelled with the Spirit. We lost that when sin entered the world. That's why when Jesus left the earth, he left the Holy Spirit with us. Why have a resurrection?

so there goes the false immortal Spirit theory.

right so the Spirit is not immortal until after God decided to make it etenalIf we where only flesh and blood then once we died then we would cease to exist... To be reasurected we must exist in the form of spirit and then be united with our New bodies.. Otherwise it would be a case of being created again.. those who disbelieve God and reject His atonement will indeed face eternal torment in the lake of fire thus their spirit will exist for ever and ever in that lake of fire..
Oh and PS: I have read the entire Bible..
right so the Spirit is not immortal until after God decided to make it etenal
Oops! you forgot 2 Thessalonians 1:9 who shall pay the penalty of eternal destruction..(DARBY)No everyone is going to be reasurected therefore they are going to continue in as a spirit connected to an eternal body.. Some are going to have eternity with Jesus in His perfect existence as perfected beings.. Some will have eternity with satan and his fallen angels in the eternal lake of fire in torment.. Both saved and damned both have eternity.. But they have it in two very different locations..
The spirit of the one in the eternal lake of fire does not cease to exist.. that spirit shall exist for ever and ever..
James 2:26 does not captitalize, 'spirit', like he-man has. If 'spirit' is not capitalized then it is not the HS that the scripture is talking about (Holy Spirit is always capitalized).
You can see the difference very clearly in Romans 8:16 where
the 'HS' (capitalized) is witnessing to 'our spirit' (not capitalized) that we are the children of God.
Do you see the difference?
Try the KJV-BRG and read LUKE 24:26 ..Father into thine hands I commend my Spirit..KJV-BRG; Job 34:14-15; Psalms 104:29; Psalms 146:4; Ecclestaces 12:7; Isaiah 2:22; Acts of the Apostles 7:59-60;The KJV capitalizes 'spirit' when it is talking about the HS.
When it is talking about 'our personal spirit' it is not capitalized. That is the difference between our English translation and the Greek. There must be some kind of mark that differentiates between the HS and our personal spirit. In James 2:26 (which you quoted with a capitalized 'spirit') is not capitalized in the real scripture. So if you are quoting the KJV, you are either mistaken or you are deceptive. Just between us, you do not want to be changing the scripture to make a point.
