Thanks, Miss Mustard. :) Thankfully I wasn't prone to dwelling on the fact when it first came to mind today, so I'm okay. It does pass through my thoughts every now and then, but not too much. Debilitating diseases like Alzheimer's just affect me more strongly ever since I threw aside the traditional Christian doctrine that we have inherently immortal souls, in favor of conditional immortality. So I do not see the diseases that eventually take one's life as just affecting a "shell" of a body but unable to touch the eternal soul. But rather, I now see it breaking down the person himself until it eventually kills him, a reminder of our fragile mortality. How fortunate we are that, as much as the sleep of death sucks, in Christ we do have the hope of a later resurrection, and this time unto eternal life where it can never be afflicted by disease or death again. For now, though, we just have to face our mortality and the mental and physical ailments that all the more hasten the fulfillment of mortality's promise - the end of life. In Jesus, however, thankfully the end will not be permanent. :)

That's interesting SK :) I've never heard it explained in that way but I can see where you're getting at. At the end of the day, our bodies will fail us but one day we know that God will perfect us in due time

I feel like 99% of my friends only call or check up on me because they need something....

"Oh, hey, Steph! Hope you're doing okay!
Hey, listen...I was wondering...could you...."

Or they do a barter and trade....

"Well, if you do this for me, I'll do *something of equal or lesser value* for you! Sound good?"

And all of this is just really messing with me right now. I'm getting so frustrated, so stressed out, and feeling so unwanted and unloved, even though I'm surrounded by people.

I can only think of one friend that doesn't do this to me...in fact, he insists that if I ever need help or just a friendly ear, I call him. He never asks for anything in return, even when I beg him to take money or a service. He refuses and just continues to give, knowing more often than not that I need the support and attention more than anyone else realizes.

I'm just tired of it all...why can't I ever get a break...?

Yeah, right. I would love to see Jennie Amber of all people actually go off on someone. ^_^

Lol! When I was 17 to early 20s I was a pistol online. If you (people) annoyed me, I'd tell you right then and there. I actually liked a bit of drama. :sorry: But like the older I get, especially being here on CF, I've learned to bite my tongue a LOT anddd if something seriously does need to be said I do my best to take it to PM but even then I'm very mindful of my words. lol

I've never really in the real world come in contact with someone who I actually had to go off on. :p I mean, there is probably one or two people I can think off right now that I'd like to. But that's a whole different story. :p

Bottom of my foot was swollen to begin with, and then, *whap*, stubbed my toe and, I'm guessing while gaining my balance/composure, brushed my hand against a surface a little harder than anticipated.

Nothin' major, but a real comedy of errors, there.

OMM:
When someone says "I can't believe you're single". I've always decided to take it as a compliment and haven't been offended. Sometimes it can be awkward if I can't think of a witty retort and end up just clasping my hands and replying "yup...yup I am".

However,

yesterday I was at an event where a person said this to me at least 6+ times throughout the evening. And then made quite a few jokes about how I would "snag a man" or "walk down the aisle" next. How I "must be hiding men in my closets" because this person didn't believe I was single.

I was reminded that I was single so often throughout the night that despite my best efforts, I went from awkwardly flattered to completely annoyed. And on the drive home, if I hadn't been extremely tired and fallen asleep I think I would have cried.

I have no idea what their goal was. If it was to be nice, they could have seriously stopped after the first time. So why continue in front of different people and all my family members? ugh.

I'd have told them right quickly where they could stick it. I'm done with people freaking out over my relationship status, and then them thinking that they have to play Sherlock Holmes and find out why I'm single and what has happened to lead to this point.

I've also had to make it quite clear that I'm not going to be set up with each and any random troll or whatever that they know that they think will make a good match. The last time round they tried to set me up with someone who looked like Mike Tyson in the face with Minnie Driver hair. Over this mess.

And I get visibly frustrated when I have to run my bank card two times due to error at the grocery store.
If I'm to take The Bible literally then I really need to saturate myself in more of God's Word. *sigh*

Had a similar experience recently when tryin' to get an ATM to take a $20 bill. Ultimately was no big deal (broke it at a CVS later on without any issues), but sometimes those little things can put one over the edge when dealing with other stressors (especially if going somewhere for a little while is supposed to help you get away from those).

I just saw an ad from Dish about how you can watch 4 stations at once. How in the world did we get that OCD that we have to watch 4 stations at once? Back in my day, we had a 'last' button on our remote!

I'm still living back in the day, I don't have cable nor can I watch 4 channels at once. :p

Why can't people be happy with the way God created them?

Maybe I'm just not happy with being created with a bunch of disabilities and disorders that causes all his other creations to look down on me, treat me like a second class citizen and deny me many of the world's pleasures that most take for granted like romance, parties, friendship, and a normal life. It's even worse if I am born in the wrong place at the wrong time where I would have either been institutionalized or even murdered just 'for the way God made me'.

Because people are people. A lot of us don't know how to be content with how we are, or what we have.

For the record: I am happy with the way God created me. :D
