A Dutch euthanasia pioneer surveys the wreckage, despairs, and abuses of euthanasia.

If there is anyone who could be called a patron saint of Dutch euthanasia, it is the psychiatrist Boudewijn Chabot. In 1991 he gave one of his patients, Mrs B, a lethal dose of medication. After accompanying her until she died he reported himself to the police and was subsequently tried. In 1993, the Supreme Court declare that he was guilty of assisting a suicide, but did not punish him and allowed him to keep practicing medicine. Physically, there was nothing wrong with Mrs B. Nor did she have depression. But her personal life was tragic and Dr Chabot felt that she in a state of existential distress that she should be allowed to die. It was a landmark case in the steady advance towards legalisation in 2002.

 Praying for all of the Netherlands and protection against this culture of death that has been and could continue to victimize more and more of the people of the Netherlands.

I have been there many times and it's a lovely and beautiful country.

Praying for their leaders to follow God's will, for a revival, for the people to come and truly know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, for protection from crime and terrorism. Thank You Lord!

Such a peaceful nation compared to ours. Perhaps I can live there one day.
Peaceful or braindead?
I'm not sure.. (maybe both)

But indeed, it is a shame how countries where the roots of protestantism and Bible based Christianity lie, have all but left Jesus, and most of the remainder is lukewarm at best and riddled with false teachings or lack of teachings.

Meanwhile, we've got groups of different cultures other than our own everywhere, and thus a LOT of muslims, coming from the countries we bomb (as a Nato member).

The Netherlands used to be a smart country, with very good education system.
All that remains of that is the arrogance about it, while being either totally ignorant or brainwashed with secular (dis)beliefs.

O yeah, the Netherlands certainly need our prayers.

My dear grandmother was dying of cancer, and she was in terrible terrible pain.
Painkillers didn't help, she was at home with her husband and daughter (my mother) to die.
They eventually gave her an overdose on painkillers, out of mercy, to stop the needless suffering that would so lead to death anyway.
I suppose some of you would call that 'death cult stuff' or something...
It was a tough decission, of course...
Yes, she died shortly after.
I believe she's with God now, or sleeping in the good part of 'hades'.
