For non-believers here (or maybe ex-christians too), since you feel God is not real, what would your reaction be when you die and you stand before God? Mind you your destination after you see Him is already set and unchangeable.

I've always been curious of peoples response. BTW I don't want to hear "Nothing because Hes not real!". We already know you feel that way. But this is a "what if" question that you can take just to see what your reaction would be, indulge me. In the past when I asked people this the most common answers were they would swear at God and tell Him off or they would argue with Him about why they thought the way they did. Which to be fair I understand those replies because finding our He was real would make you mad because you realize you made the wrong choice.

Now just in case someone asks "What if you died and found out He wasn't real?". Well if there is nothing then it doesn't matter because I won't know. If there was something, I wouldn't care, I'm glad I lived my life how I did.
If I am wrong and standing before the Christian God when I die, I will tell him off. I will tell him that he is a childish, self conscious, hateful, murderous being who is not worthy of my worship. I don't want to spend eternity in heaven worshipping that horrible monster.

He provided zero evidence of his existence and no reason for me to worship him. He provided poor information and morals in the Bible (slavery, stupid laws, bad information on food, murdered the planet, etc.). Why would I waste my time worshipping a being who lets a majority of his creation suffer?

You would want to do that because the people who created that God have really good potlucks, you can tell them any old sob-story and they will give you money, [staff edit] and all this only costs you two hours on Sunday morning and a few tax deductible donations to keep the pastor happy.

the OP assumes far too much about Gods nature and ways and if I encountered such a being after I died I would assume it's some kind of deceiving spirit and I would be more convinced that it was evil if it had large groups of certain types of ignorant/calloused souls that think about God in that manner.

I picked "debate him and talk about morals" because there was no option to "pray to God and ask that good spirits of my own ilk that could help us would be around us"

I would sit there and listen to what God has to say the way a small child would listen to their parent.

The one thing I do know is that all humans make a lot of mistaken and fail to understand how the world around them works. I see plenty of people who fail to grasp what I consider to be simple topics and I would assume I have just as many failings as others do that I simply don't realize I have much like those others I see don't realize theirs.

The opportunity to listen and learn from a being who is so much better than myself is one I would relish. I would try to grasp as much as I could, even a seed of wisdom from such an eternal and wonderful source.

I'd take honest sadism over faked concern.

What about the death penalty?
As far as atheists are concerned, when you end a life
there is nothing afterward. And man's judgment
is severely lacking sometimes. God can judge, but he
can never judge unfairly or wrongly by definition.
He is God. He is not limited by anything you can imagine.

I have blamed him before for many things. Hated him.

God was here long before religion, and will still
be God after religion is gone, along with death.

He shares this trait with many fictional beings.

I couldn't see a fitting option, so I didn't vote...

My response would be akin to Hitchens'....I would ask him why he equipped me with this brain, capable of examining evidence and logical thought...and then be disappointed in me for using it...!

"Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear." ~ Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 10 August 1787, in PTJ 12:15.

one thing to note would be that a lot of times we think we are great and so might not see our own poverty in comparison to God ( he would have to be way better than us).

i.e. thomas jefferson was a slave owner. that of course does not take away his own virtues.

I heard that the angels tend to try to find the good in people and so it would seem God does something like this. many Christians would have God throw out a mans goods along with his sins. that is not just at all.

No, I don't believe in any god. Man is to blame for man's choices. I don't understand why people worship such a flawed god.

That's not possible.
Only the forgiven stand before God.
To be in the company of something you don't accept would be
like a form of insanity. Hell is a lonely place and there is no judgment.

Technically since God is perfect then we are the flawed ones. So its not people are believing in a flawed God, its flawed people aren't believing in a perfect God because its just to hard for them to accept He is perfect and they are flawed.

If God is perfect, why did he make rules for owning other humans and how to properly beat your slaves? Those rules seem less than perfect to me, but what do I know, I'm no god.

How are they less than perfect? And what does perfection have to do with slaves? Which mind you were during a different time in history in the bible. Though that aside the real question is if Hes God, who are we to question Him? Are we going to somehow show Him whos boss by arguing with Him? As if He cares since Hes in charge. I never understood that.
