Um, yes? Yes, the side that kill people is worse than the side that doesn't. I think that's something pretty easy for everyone to acknowledge, really.
Two sides came armed to fight. Both brought weapons. Both engaged in attacking and hitting others, kicking others, throwing objects at others, with intent to harm. Both sides.

One guy got in his car and drove into a crowd. He alone is responsible for injuring those people and killing that woman. "One side" didn't drive the car. One guy did.

I perfectly understand it. You know, there are no blameless historical figures. It's not black and white. You just leave your nation's history alone.
But those statues are not history.

Well that's convenient.

edit: How odd
Exactly. Which means that those here that bring that up are missing the larger point. Actually I think they are ignoring it. It's irrelevant to the conversation that a majority of Muslims aren't chopping off heads. What matters is the millions of Muslims who support such actions. If left unchecked, such terrorists will continue until they are a daily occurrence even in the US.
He was killed by Muslims. Muslims LIVE and DO in the name of Islam. It's a way of life. It's not that difficult.

Why are so many people willing to ignore the Islamic connection and try to find some other angle? Mohamed was an evil man and Islam is an evil religion. That there are nice Muslims is irrelevant.

almost like there's... some sort of... how to describe it... double standard?

Like the Westboro Baptists. A fringe group harrassing the grieving.
A fringe group that seems to have a disturbing number of apologists and enablers.

apples and oranges. But you knew that.

You don't have lone wolf Muslim kooks killing people around the world. You have organized armies of Muslims killing people around the world. You have organized and well supported groups planning and executing terrorist acts around the world-killing innocent people in the process. They kill in the name of Islam. The the peaceful Muslims are irrelevant to the issue of those that actually are doing the killing. Since 911, Islamist terrorists have carried out nearly 32 thousand terror attacks. They are a problem in the world. We are constantly fighting against them. The fact that there are peaceful Muslims in the world is irrelevant. My point then, my point now.

But here you have a situation where two opposing groups, both armed for a fight, committed violent acts against each other. But because one guy who was affiliated with one side killed someone, you want to negate the crimes of the side because after all, they only hurt people with clubs and stuff, they didn't kill anyone.

I say both sides are equally guilty of the violence.

And one guy decided to mow down a group of people with his car. His crime is worse. But it stands apart from the rest of the situation.

Trying to get back to the topic......
I believe the root of this hate is anti-semitism........
Thus neo nazis

Anti semitism anti Jew hate is deeply imbedded in the historical church in europe...catholic and protestant...
I am fairly troubled that a lot of this is still hidden inside the hearts of christians in our churches........

JEws seems to be the first group for pople to hate.....
And the last group that people admit they hate......

Read the news of destroying jewish symbols and cemetqries....in our country
The islamic terorist out in LA california specifically targted a messianic Jew that tried share the gospel with him....
Our last president had Muslim brotherhood in the white house who want to destroy Israel.....
No one said anything just like no one said anything inWW2 with Hitler......
Also Bush forced Israel to give up land thus bringing a curse on our nation according to
JOel 3:1-2

Look at the news ....I didnt see black vs. white......
I saw neo nazi jew haters....all white.......

I know a few jewish believers who seem to hide their identity at times even among christians......
In fact one christian brother didnt tell me for 5 years that both his parents were jewish.......very strange!!!

In my own church last year there was a heated discussion about jews and almost like people dont want the Jews to be saved.....very strange!!!!!

Did this protest have anything to do with Jews in general?

I'm not questioning the fact some of the groups present at Charlottesville are anti Semitic they are. However don't think this was the catalyst for the clash of extremists left and right.

Israelis are murdered in the Middle East by terrorists often yearly.

Our last president policies were extremely anti semetic
And our country was too afraid of the media to speak out against it......similir to WW2
Yes neo nazis are rooted in hate toward jews...
Yes islamic terorist are rooted in hate toward Jews.....
Yes ou last president and the left sowed hate and discord toward Jews and Christians.....
And its roots are now being exposed for what it is......
It is very subtle because there are not very many Jews in our country...but it is there if you look!!!!
Video of a man in our country yes california waving a Isis flag
And then a Israel flag...observes what happens....

Antifa has BEEN domestic terrorists. Yet they CONTINUE, fully funded, while police officers are ordered to "stand down" and allow them to act out a tsunami of blatant hatred, bigotry, and viciousness, including coming prepared with bats, helmets, sticks, pepper spray, and eggs, etc. THEY are and HAVE been domestic terrorists. What they do is pre-meditated, and they are paid well to carry it out. Again and again and again and again.

Yet, when Soros, who pays them is mentioned....

*crickets*.

You are confusing Antifa with white supremacists. So sad!

Yes! The nighttime marchers were shouting out hateful anti-Semitic slogans. Watch the footage if you don't believe me. The clash of extremists was inevitable because the counterprotestors believe that the way to counter alt-right violence is with violence.

I agree destroying public property is unlawful. The article has to do with how we Christians conduct ourselves. The article title includes the word "Gospel" and we as Chistisns are living testimonies to the Gospel. I think that is the point.

We all know the facts. Sure we can finger point at "all sides" however, a life was lost due to hatred. As hatred also was the cause for a man to indiscriminately shoot at GOP congressmen at a baseball practice.

Why are we Christians getting down in the muck arguing for one side or the other. We need to be above it all.

It's ok to say your opinion. It's a nasty event.

What about protests where there is no opposing group? What exactly causes those and fuels the violence?

For example, something close to home for me. When BLM peacefully protested in Dallas last summer but an extremist started shooting at police.

BLM did not want violence. The police certainly did not. Yet one person decided to use that event as an opportunity to murder.

I have not really paid any attention to statues. But some people are highly offended by the reminders of a very dark time in American history.

Good grief, I was offended by the squatter in the WH for the last 8 years. I had to experience that. These people are whining they are offended for something that happened before they were born.....?

Some people use them as symbols of an America they would like to see return.

I don't know of ANYONE, who has ever said they would like to return to a Civil War.

There is the conflict. If they are going to be an incitement for division then they need to go.Jesus warned us that a house divided cannot stand. Really what do statues and flags do but foment hate and division.

The US has many flags. Sometimes people just need to stop and think who is separating from who, and why, and let them.

I am not the one rambling on that I am a European- American. But yet umpteen men who have never set one foot in any country of Africa, nor did their parents or grand parents,
are separating themselves, as African American. Why? Really, I don't care, but I recognize them separating themselves, by identity, by culture, by dress, by food, by music, etc....and I accept it.

God Bless,
SBC

Yeah. The African Americans separate themselves, while white society has been nothing but welcoming.
