I don’t think that is true. He cares, but caring doesn’t mean that one forces people live good life, or with Him. Those who are not righteous and therefore don’t get eternal life, wouldn’t even really want to be with God, and they don’t want to live righteously. And if people don’t want to live righteously, they will make life suffering for all and that is why it is not good to allow them to live forever. I believe God would want that all become righteous, but He doesn’t seem to want to force people to do so. And if people chose evil rather than good, it would be bad to allow them to live eternally and torture others eternally.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn't come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God."
John 3:19-21

Bible tells the judgment is in that, loves person more evil than good. Even if God loves all, it would not be good to allow evil lovers to live forever and make the life as hellish as it is in worst places on earth, where people do all kind of atrocities (For example Syria, Yemen…).

I believe it is not about who God loves or cares, but about what is good and right.

How do we know that any of us have any righteousness whatsoever? What if Jesus refuses to cover our sins because he just doesn't like us?

If this is the correct interpretation then everything I said in my post was correct. God DOES make garbage and he hates us....

Apparently with my answer above not also help you to understand, then I suggest you to start reading your Bible , may by His will and charity lead you to understand ;

1 who you are.

2 who God is.

3 what His plan is .

4 why you should sojourn/wander prior in this temporary world .

5 etc….

With these understanding ( His Grace) , you surely will make correction about your statement above, and finally you surely Glorify Him ( this is the purpose of the creation Isa43:7).

Isa43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him

I seem to have no choice but to accept that God is the manipulator and the controller of fate. He sees the human race as a collective and individuals as cogs in the machine. Therefore, there are no problems with directly ordering the armies of Israel to engage in brutal slaughter.

The Canaanites and the Amalekites are the prime examples of this. If you happen to be an infant born into one of these cultures then God hates you down to the bone. You exist only to be made an example of and to be target practice for the Israelites. There is little doubt that the leaders and the adult population of these two cultures deserved their fate because of their grave sin and their threats of violence against Israel....but God wanted to go further than that. From the beginning of infinity God decided that every last Canaanite and Amalekite infant was worthless. They were worthless before the foundation of the Earth was formed.

This completely changes the way I see the gospel now.

God did not send Jesus to save the human race. He came to save his people....maybe a few thousand of them. He saves all his best attributes for this spiritual elite. He has named the very hairs on their heads. His opinion of every other living human couldn't be more different. He hates them down to the molecule! His fiery eyes gaze down from a dark sky waiting for our disgusting selves to make an error knowing full well that we all will. Only the very few are capable of genuine repentance. The rest of us are liars and self deceived :(

It is very likely that myself and probably everyone who will read this post is damned. God has not come to save as many as possible because he doesn't really care about our souls. He cares about the souls of a very small number.

I don't know how to get around this. My heart is completely broken.
I think your mistaken about all your hate, if you have faith in Jesus your a child of Abraham.
Romans chapter 4 verse 16
Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Those people that were killed could have joined Isreal, like Rahab the hooker, and her family.

I have considered this line of thinking in the past and I will tell you why it is a lie:
God does not make our choices for us, we do, and we will see them through for our learning and the sake of truth (Romans 3:4)
Adam and Eve were deceived by the Devil, who is a murder and a liar who sought our destruction from the beginning (John 8:44)
God had a plan for us in the beginning, to become something greater after mastering the world (Genesis 1:28)
Every man that puts faith in God instead of himself and the leaders of this world will receive his reward (Matthew 19:29)

Garbage we did not start as (Ecclesiastes 7:29), the Devil brought sin to us through the law when we were not ready for it (Romans 7:7), because he wants us to fail, but God allows us to learn and repent as well as we can, because he wants us to succeed. There is only one unforgivable sin for a reason (1 John 5:16)(Matthew 12:32).

Dark Soul,

What does God really think about the genocide you reference? He expresses His true perspective in Isaiah 2:4:

"He shall judge between the nations, and shall arbitrate for many peoples; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

And just in case, you argue against this by referring to the Pentateuch and the Book of Joshua, God repeats the same point in Micah 4:3!

Then Jesus takes His cue from God's twice-repeated anti-war statement and teaches, "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you (Luke 6:27-28)" and "Those who take to the sword will perish by the sword (Matthew 26:52)."

So how can such teaching be reconciled with tribal Israel's genocide?
(1) Progressive Revelation:
(a) The Pentateuch implies that the wife is her husband's property; so he can divorce her for any perceived deficiency (Deuteronomy 24:1-4). Jesus contradicts this by teaching that marriage must be viewed as a lifelong commitment (Mark 10:5-9) and explaining the Mosaic error in terms of "the hardness of their hearts." In other words, progressive revelation had been unable to penetrate their unflinching patriarchal bias

(b) In Jeremiah 7:22-23 God makes it clear that He never authorized the Jewish system of sacrifice in Egypt and the desert. By implication, the Israelites weren't ready yet for a non-sacrificial religion; so God worked within the sacrifice system that He didn't really want to reveal what really matters to Him. Then God made Jesus the sacrifice to end all sacrifices and got rid of this system that way; i. e. by bringing it to fulfillment.

(2) A Kill or Be Killed Canaanite Mentality towards Invaders:
Divine deliverance from Egyptian slavery already implies a Promised Land without slavery. But the available arable land is already occupied by tribes who are unwilling to accommodate intruders. Archaeology makes clear what is left vague in the Pentateuch, namely that Israelites already occupied the Judean hills and Joshua's group from the desert merely expanded an already established Israelite population in Canaan. So the first tribal fighting is really a civil war in which it is either kill or be killed. God would have preferred a negotiated settlement. But the Israelites were not ready to hear God's contrary will in Joshua's day.

'Genocide' is an overstatement regarding God's command to kill in the Bible.

For one, you're not referencing multitudes of flourishing people when you look to such instances, you're referencing tribes and cities that were wiped out and attributing them to being entire nations and races by today's standard.

People against God use buzz words like 'genocide' to make them prejudice against God.

That could simply mean that the population is extremely large during the time of tribulation. If 1% of a trillion people is saved then that is 10 billion people....

How many deserve to be saved?

Yes. That is so clear that I'm amazed you are just coming to realize it now.

The human race doesn't want to be saved. No one does. God has chosen to have mercy on some.

God never did such a thing. He used Israel to carry out His divine justice against idolaters and lawless people. But God never "slaughtered" anyone. Moreover, you, the creation, have no grounds on which to judge God, your Creator.

The Canaanites and the Amalekites are the prime examples of this. If you happen to be an infant born into one of these cultures then God hates you down to the bone. You exist only to be made an example of and to be target practice for the Israelites. You make yourself god and it is a dangerous place to be, thinking that you have the right to judge God.

God did not send Jesus to save the human race. He came to save his people....maybe a few thousand of them.

Are you now claiming that you know the identity of the elect and the number of the elect? You did not get this from the Bible.

He saves all his best attributes for this spiritual elite.

No biblical basis for this.

His fiery eyes gaze down from a dark sky waiting for our disgusting selves to make an error knowing full well that we all will. Only the very few are capable of genuine repentance. The rest of us are liars and self deceived

Amazing claim, again, that you know the identity and numbers of the elect since God has not revealed that information to us.

It is very likely that myself and probably everyone who will read this post is damned.

You are very wrong about this.

God has not come to save as many as possible because he doesn't really care about our souls. He cares about the souls of a very small number.

Amazing claim continued, that you know the identity and numbers of the elect!

I don't know how to get around this. My heart is completely broken.

You could start by actually reading the Bible and humbly asking God to reveal His truth to you, rather than making a god in your own image.

This has nothing to do with judging God or making some grand moral statement. We're required to be totally convinced about the character of God so no doubts allowed. These events create doubt....

Clearly it does.

Where is this found in the Bible? God never commands blind faith that I am aware of. But faith as evidenced by His revealed truth.

These events create doubt

Goes back to my original point, only if you place yourself in the position with the authority to judge God and His actions.

oremus Bible Browser : Matthew 25:14–30:14

Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; 25so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26But his master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy slave! You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter? 27Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest. 28So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. 29For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. 30As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

It would seem to me, that whatever we might think of God, be he a Good Shepherd, or be he an harsh, unfair, genocidal ogre, it doesn't change the fact that we have been commissioned with a task.
That task is to live to life with passion and verve. If we waste the talents we have been given in fear and loathing of the one who has given them to us, we are the ones who are the cheats. We are cheating ourselves if nothing else, wasting our lives in an unproductive and nihilistic pessimism. Such cynicism breeds sloth, and nothing else.

We have all been given one life to live, and a world filled with opportunities. The greater crime is not in taking the plunge and losing everything. The greater crime is to wallow in our pessimism about the evil nature seemingly inherent to our world, and not even try to make a difference.

Let God be God. Who he is and what he does is his own business. He is who he is and he will be who he will be anyway. He told us as much. As for us, we are commissioned to be the best men and women that we can be. This is one of those self-evident truths that may be derived by contemplating our own belly buttons.

So let the chips fall where they may. We cannot control where the wheel is going to land anyway. All we are in control of is whether we put in the proper effort into living our life well, or not. That is how we are to judge ourselves. That is how we ultimately will be judged.

How do we know that any of us have any righteousness whatsoever?

I don’t think we need to know that. At least for me it is enough to know that god is good, whatever He does, is good and will be good.

What if Jesus refuses to cover our sins because he just doesn't like us?

I don’t believe that happens. I believe what the Bible tells, eternal life is for righteous (Mat. 25:46) and some will have eternal life, and therefore some are righteous. And is someone righteous, can be seen from the actions.

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.

I saw something that helped me with this the other day, though I can't remember where but I imagine the description will spark your biblical memory enough to look and see if you think it's right.

But I heard it explained that the unwilling receivers of this brutal slaughter were only partially human. That when the Angels decided they'd do a little bit of what God was planning down the road, and put pieces of their own essences into a human to make creatures like the Nephilim. And it was these "Men" that fell by the sword of the Israelite, and not Men who could be considered gentiles because of their pure human origin. And thus making David the king charged with ridding the world of the last of the physical manifestations of Satan's genetic influence. At least for a time.

Fear not, said the angel who announced it, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14.

Luke 3:5 Every valley shall be filled,
and every mountain and hill shall be made low,
and the crooked shall be made straight,
and the rough ways made smooth;
Luke 3:6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Luke 6:35

Luke 15:3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying, 4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luke 15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

Lk17:4 Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
