Then call it an "educated guess" if "pet theory" bothers you.

And while you're at it, do something I very seldom ... and I mean VERY SELDOM ... see an educated person do:

Answer the OP, please, in your own words.

Where do you think Noah specifically lived?

I couldn't care less if LOADS of people will trust THAT or NOT.

LOADS of people think the Flood was local, so [unfortunately] I don't blame them for disagreeing with me.

I'd disagree with me too if I was wrong.

I would call it an UNEDUCATED GUESS and GUESSWORK has NOT ANYTHING to do with FAITH. GOOD BYE, you will NOW be IGNORED.

Since we know that the Garden of Eden was located somewhere in the ANE because of the reference to ANE rivers in Genesis 2:10-14, Noah must have lived somewhere close to there.
Even though over 1600 years prior, God told his great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson to hit the road?

What then was New Jersey wasn't "across the world" at the time.

See if you can find it on this map:

If this map correctly represents the world from 5000 years ago then I suppose this is possible. But that's a big if.

You have posted this idea of yours for some time.
And, LORD willing, I'll continue to do so.

It must be pretty boring in New Jersey.
Tell that to the owners of the Noah's Ark Restaurant & Deli in Teaneck.

Even though he said this?

Psalm 104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
When I read that section I am reminded of Genesis 1. Are there any textual clues that I am missing that would pin this section to the flood?

Psalm 104:7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

Psalm 104:9 Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

That all still sounds like Genesis to me. In Genesis the earth was covered with water, and God said 'let the dry land appear' and 'let the waters be gathered into one place.'

That whole segment begins with God setting the earth on it's foundations which draws my mind to Genesis 1.

Pine is very rot-resistant, so of course someone would attempt to make a connection between it's usefulness as boat material to Noah's Ark.

But
Nobody knows what gopher wood is- it's not mentioned anymore in the Bible, and the two default notions are that it was either a species of tree that died with the Flood- or is a tree alive today which was colloquially termed different in his era.
Some feel that "gopher wood" was laminated wood with pitch in between... so, not a type of tree but a type of fabricated structure....not unlike Plywood....never seen or heard of a plywood tree.

Is that a "rebuke" to you?

It draws my mind to Genesis 1 as well.

But if God can do it in Genesis 1, he can do it in Genesis 7 as well.

In fact, I use verse 8 to show that God used the waters to make serpentine etchings into the earth's surface (called "meandering rivers") as a pictogram of who was responsible for the Flood.

Psalm 104:8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

Not to split hairs, but pine is anything but rot resistant. Both white and red pine rot extremely fast if not treated, which is why for external use you buy treated lumber, not standard. You can add other conifers to that list as well -- spruce, fir, etc. Osage, locust, and cedar are very rot resistant. Pine rots like it's getting paid to do it.

Apparently you have not seen pre flood New Jersey Pine. I hear it is the best at being rot resistant.

yeah, they can do ANYTHING on computers these days to make what they want people to believe as truth. Though one would THINK that a Christian Forum would ONLY tell true facts, sadly, it's not always the case.
