In the first year of Darius.???

Darius the Mede conquered Babylon...
Daniel 5:31
"And Darius the Median took the kingdom, (Babylon) being about threescore and two years old."

Isaiah 13:17
"Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, ie.(Babylon)

Jeremiah 51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

The Medes are the arms of silver. Persia the thighs of bronze. Greece the legs of iron.

As far as Daniel 11 goes, I'm not settled on it yet, It may be nearly all FUTURE, and it does resemble Saddam Hussein's political career quite well.
But that would be a major thread derailment.

Daniels vison in chapter 8 clarify the 2nd empire as the Medo\Persian Empire. Verse 20.
Daniel 8 1. In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first. 2. And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision, that I was by the river of Ulai. 3. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, look, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. 4. I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no animals might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. 5. And as I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, not touching the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6. And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran up to him in the fury of his power. 7. And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with rage against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. 8. Therefore the male goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in it's place came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9. And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10. And it grew great, even to the army of heaven; and it cast down some of the army and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11. Yes, he magnified himself even to the ruler of the army, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12. And an army was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. 13. Then I heard one holy one speaking, and another holy said to that certain holy one which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot? 14. And he said to me, Until two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. 15. And it came to pass, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, look, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16. And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man understand the vision. 17. So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall the vision be. 18. Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19. And he said, look, I will make you understand what shall be in the final period of wrath: for at the time appointed the end shall be. 20. The ram which you saw having the two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21. And the rough goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22. Now that being broken, whereas four stood in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. 23. And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce expression, skilled in intrigues, shall stand up. 24. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and accomplish, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. 26. And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut up the vision; for it shall be for many days. 27. And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

The four horsemen of the apocalypse are described in Revelation chapter 6, verses 1-8. The four horsemen are symbolic descriptions of different events which will take place in the fulfillment of the 70th and final "Week" of God's decree upon the destiny of Israel, in Dan.9:27. Also known as the seven year Tribulation, Jacob's Trouble of Jer.30:7 and the Day of the Lord. Referred to by Jesus in His Olivet Discourse in Mt.24; Mk.13 and in Lk.21.

The first horseman of the apocalypse is mentioned in Revelation 6:2, "I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." This first horseman refers to the antichrist, who will be given authority and will conquer all who oppose him. The antichrist is the false imitator of Jesus Christ, who will return on a white horse in His second coming to the earth (Revelation 19:11-16).

The second horseman of the apocalypse is referred to in Revelation 6:4, "Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword." The second horseman refers to terrible warfare that will break out in the end times.

The third horseman is described in Revelation 6:5-6, “...and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!’” The third horseman of the apocalypse refers to a great famine that will take place, as a result of the wars from the second horseman. Food will be scarce, but wine and oil will still be readily available.

The fourth horseman is mentioned in Revelation 6:8, "I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."

The fourth horseman of the apocalypse is symbolic of death and devastation. The fourth horseman of the apocalypse will bring further warfare and devastating famines along with awful plagues and diseases.

The last two horsemen of the apocalypse are precursors of the terrible judgments that come later in the final three and a half years of the seven year Tribulation, known as the Great Tribulation [Revelation chapters 8-9 and 16].

Quasar92

Sorry disagree, they are angels that initiate judgment. I believe these same 4 angels begin to take action in Rev. 9:14. Revelation cannot be read chronologically. It's goes back and forth showing different vantage points. Also the trumpets and bowls exist within the seals. The seals were already opened when Jesus ascended long ago and John would not have been able to tell us what was inside if they weren't already opened. These four angels were held at the Euphrates River. The waited for a specific day and hour. Of course war is stirred up by these angels indirectly but people on earth are responsible for these wars. I can give you another example: Both Rev.7 and 14 speak of the 144k, they are also different vantage points. Rev. 7:9 & Rev. 11:15 describe the rapture, same event, different vantage points. I also thing the great earthquake of Rev. 6:12-14 is the same great quake of Rev. 16:18 -- it's a worldwide quake that crumbles all tall buildings, mountains and removes islands. It is the greatest quake of all time. Btw, the 70 weeks of Daniel was a prophecy concerning His First Coming only and the Great Tribulation is 3 1/2 years.

The only thing said about the second kingdom is that it's inferior to Babylon. Was Medo-Persia the kingdom inferior to Babylon? Absolutely not! The Median Empire was not only much smaller it was also short lived. The Medes are the arms of silver.

The word 'inferior' is the word "arah" which means earth, world, and ground. Daniel 2 is the only place the word inferior is translated as, 'ara' or 'GROUND! It corresponds to the word 'erets' which means LAND. Gesenius says, "the ground, and adverb below, inferior. The interlinear uses the word, 'earthward'. So if inferior means land, that rules out the Medo-Persian empire as the second empire since it was about three times the size of Babylon. It wasn't 'land inferior' to Babylon. The Median Empire was not only short-lived but it was also much smaller making it the inferior kingdom.

That makes the legs of iron and toes mingled with iron and clay the Grecian empire, not Rome.
Actually no, the Medo Persian empire wouldn't be considered inferior since it conquered Babylon. Greece in turn conquered Persia and Rome ultimately conquered Greece. The Roman empire wasn't just built on force of arms but roads humpbacked bridges and aqueducts. A technology the acquired from the scholars and scientists taken to Rome as little more then slaves.

I don't know but you may not be able to post right away. There should be a place at the bottom of the page where you can post or just hit the reply button at the bottom of someone else's post. The plus sign (+) on the tool bar will let you attach a file I think but I've never used it.

The Four Horsemen are a part of the Seven Seals

The Seven Seals are the Lambs Wrath. He allows the Anti-Christ (White Horse) to come forth by opening the First Seal, he goes forth conquering and to conquer, which is what a White Horse stands for, but this Anti-Christ turns into a Beast when he conquers Jerusalem (42 Months). The other three Seals are effects of what the Beast/Anti-Christ/Little Horn does to the earth when he comes forth.

The Second Seal (Red Horse) is the Anti-Christ taking Peace from the earth, in other words this signifies that all of the Peace/Security deals he negotiated were just feints or deceits, he never intended to honor them, he only used these negotiated deals to gain leverage and trust over many including Israel. That is why Daniel 8:25 says he destroys many via peace. He Conquers and thus brings War to the world with has by-products which we see in Seals three and four.

Seal Three is opened by Jesus in Heaven. Famine comes forth unto the world. With wars commerce usually suffers, shipping lanes are attacked be they in the water or air in these latter days. And of course Jesus might take rain from the earth with the Black Horse.

The Fourth Seal is opened by Jesus, its the Pale Green Horse (Think Sickness). Its color is best described as Slime Green. It represents Death and the Grave (Hades). One fourth (1/4) of mankind will perish via these Four Seals or Four Horses. That could mean as many as 1.5 to 2 Billion people perish, according of course to how many people are Raptured and of course when this comes to pass, population wise things change of course. In my opinion, this timing right here (Four Seals) is when the Anti-Christ destroys the Harlot (All False Religions), and comes after the Woman of Revelation 12 (Israel) who Flees and is protected by God, then Martyrs the Remnant of the Church. He will wipe out all Religions, that way he has no competition, and can demand to be worshiped as the ONLY GOD !!

Seal Number Five is of course the Martyrs under the Alter. Not the Church that was Raptured and is in Heaven, but the Tribulation Saints who the Anti-Christ comes after with anger when he can’t get at the Woman (Israel). Of course he kills 2/3 of all Jews also, the ones that do not heed Jesus’ words and flee unto the Wilderness will be in a precarious situation, they must accept the Mark of the Beast or face death like everyone else. Jesus opens this Seal as a testimony against Satan, the Anti-Christ and his evil Minions. The Martyrs are given white robes and told by Jesus to wait until their Fellow-servants have been slain also, which means they must wait until the Beasts 42 Month reign is up. This makes Jesus’ anger rise up to a different level, thus the coming Sixth Seal is Supernatural in Nature.

The Sixth Seal is opened by Jesus in heaven. There is loosed upon earth a great earthquake, the sun becomes darkened, and the moon turns as blood-red. The heavens are shaken and the Stars fall from Heaven. In my personal opinion this is Satan and his Angels being cast out of heaven by Micheal the Arch Angel. The scriptures say the Kings, rich men and mighty men all try to hide themselves from what they say is the Wrath of the Lamb !! It hits them at this point in time that they are in the Day of the Lord (Gods 3.5 years of Wrath) which starts with the very First Seal being opened by Jesus in Heaven. The wicked men of earth only now realize that all of the Wars, Famine, Deaths etc. etc. were the Wrath of the Lamb, they understand it because of the supernatural happenings, the great earthquake, the sun turning dark/black and the moon turning blood-red.

Of course the Seventh Seal is opened in Revelation chapter 8, and it is the Seven Trumpets which leads to the Seven Vials. Each set of Judgments if you will notice gets worse and worse, all three sets of Seven Judgments ends with a massive earthquake that gets progressively worse with each occurrence. Is like God is warning the wicked to repent, repent, but they refuse to do so. Those that have taken the Mark of the Beast of course can not repent.

The Anti-Christ is the Man of Sin, no one will know his name before he rises to power, unless God so chooses to inform us, but he is born in Greece and comes to power via the European Union. And IMHO, he is alive and in the world and has been for awhile.

I honestly think this is the true answer, but considering what else was said it would also be foolish not to think of the four horsemen as the four stages of sin: Sin conquers your heart and spreads to corrupt others, and those it cannot corrupt it does take from by force. This leads to famines, plagues, war, and death. All clearly visible throughout history, no matter which clown(s) played the role. What I often see is that prophecy and verses hold true no matter the circumstance, for God is not a liar, and we should know the consequences of not listening.

the four beasts of daniel -
what are they?
What they are I can only speculate. They aren't the same as the kingdoms of Daniel 2. And. ALL FOUR beast in Daniel 7 are end-time beast.

Daniel 7 is a classic example of interpretation gone bad. I'll explain later.

I see, well certainly the Medo-Persian empire was considerably larger then Babylon.

I stand corrected, I was more focused on the progression of the empires prophesied in Daniel.

The Persians were great engineers too, but they weren't great warriors like the Medes.

True, their irrigation techniques, like the Babylonians would have been something close to cutting edge at least for the time. What I was getting at was the Greek are famous for their development of science and math, Euclid's Elements are the basis for what we call plane geometry. The Romans basically learned it from the Greeks and the glory of Rome was based more on logistics, roads and bridges then any military conquest. One of the few writings from antiquity specifically describing engineering was written by the Roman engineers. Those hump back bridges stood for nearly 2,000 years until steel based trucks started going across them.

the four beasts of daniel -
what are they?
Revelations the 13th and 16th chapters:

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. (Rev. 13:1,2)

This matches the prophecies of Daniel chapters 2 and 7:

Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.
  1. “The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.
  2. “And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’
  3. “After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
  4. “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns. (Daniel 7:3-7)
This overlaps with Daniel chapter 2:

The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; in your hands he has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds in the sky. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. The head of God=Babylon, described as a lion in Dan. 7. The chest and arms of silver=Medo-Persia, described as a bear in Dan. 7. The legs of bronze =Greece, described as a leopard, Iron and clay=Rome, actually described as a composite in Revelations:

  1. You are that head of gold.
  2. “After you, another kingdom will arise, inferior to yours.
  3. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.
  4. Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. (Dan. 2: 37-43)

I'm busy these days but I do want to say that Daniel 2's ancient kingdoms, and Daniel 7 are completely different. Daniel 7 is all future. Those beast are all end-time beast. Just like Rev. 13 and 17. There are no empires or people depicted in those visions that existed millennia ago. Every 'king' is an end-time person. Not a progression of ancient empires.

are you a futurist?
Absolutely.
I still go to my old Catholic church once in a while as I have a childhood friend who's a priest there. I'm not a historicist. But I don't hold it against you.

I'm busy these days but I do want to say that Daniel 2, ancient kingdoms, and 7,future kings, are completely different. And Daniel 7 is all future. Those beast are all end-time beast. Just like Rev. 13 and 17. There are no empires or people depicted in those visions that existed millennia ago. Every 'king' is an end-time person. Not a progression of ancient empires.
Actually it's both, those empires are still with us and represented in the description of the Beast from the Sea. I realize we have a number of differences here but it just seems to me the Daniel 7 is an elaboration of the same kingdoms described in Daniel 2.

the four beasts of daniel -
what are they?

The first empire is Babylon.

Daniel 2:31....This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form of it was terrible. 32. This image's head was of fine gold,.......37. You, O king, are a king of kings: for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 38. And where ever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven has he given into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.
Daniel 7:4. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I looked till the wings were torn off, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,......... 2 .........and his mouth as the mouth of a lion:

The second empire Medo\Persia.
Daniel 2:32...his breast and his arms of silver,....39. And after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you,.....
Daniel 7:5. And look, another animal, a second, like a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in it's mouth between its he teeth: and they said this to it, Arise, devour much flesh.....
Daniel 8: 3. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, look, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. 4. I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no animals might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great........20. The ram which you saw having the two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
Revelation 6: 3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given to him a great sword.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea..........2 ..... and his feet were as the feet of a bear,.......:

The third empire Greece:
Daniel 2:31,,,, This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form of it was terrible......... 32 his belly and his thighs of brass.....39 .....and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
Daniel 7:. After this I was looking, and saw another, like a leopard, which had on its back of it four wings of a bird; the animal also had four heads; and an empire was given to it.
Daniel 8:5. And as I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, not touching the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes...... 8. Therefore the male goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in it's place came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.......21. And the rough goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22. Now that being broken, whereas four stood in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
Revelation 6: And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and saw a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea.......... 2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard........

The fourth empire Rome.
Daniel 2:32 This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form of it was terrible. ..........33. His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.....40. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: for as much as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things: and as iron that breaks all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Daniel 7: 7. After this I looked in the night visions, and saw a fourth animal, dreadful and terrible, and exceedingly strong; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and crushed, and trampled what was left with its feet: and it was different from all the animals that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Revelation 6: 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Revelation 12: 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy .......11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causing the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (The Roman empire when it claimed Christianity and split into an stern and western branch.)
Revelation 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying to me, Come hear; I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute that sits upon many waters: 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a crimson colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and crimson color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominable idolatry and impurity of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND ABOMINABLE IDOLATRIES OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

These ar not all of the visions. Plus each vision as the Bible goes on adds further detail to each of these empires. The important thing though for us is to understand what the Bible says would happen at the end of the fourth empire. There are well over 100 chapters of prophecy about a promised age when God's people US!!!!! Would finally begin to possess the earthly promises of God made to a thousand generations of saints. Earthly promises that in their lifetimes remained unfulfilled but in ours starting 500 years ago when the fourth empire ended. Began to come to pass in nations that met the conditions. Promises of freedom, long life, the end of despotic human government, the end of legal human slavery. Property rights, the right to serve God and raise our children as we see fit. With of course great warfare seeking to stop the influence of Gods invisible government in the earth.

Daniel 2:31 You, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the form of it was terrible. 32. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33. His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. 34. You looked until that a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. 35. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth........44. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it will crush and bring to an end all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45. For as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation of it sure.
Daniel 7: 9. I looked until the thrones were set up, and the ancient of days sat, whose robe was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the flames of fire, and its wheels were burning fire. 10. A river of fire ran and issued from his presence: thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood in his presence: the court was seated, and the books were opened. 11. I was looking then because of the sound of the great words which the horn spoke: I looked until the animal was killed, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12. As concerning the rest of the animals, they had their empires taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. 13. I saw in the night visions, and look, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14. And there was given him an empire, and glory, and dominion, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his empire is an everlasting empire, which shall not pass away, and his dominion that which shall not be destroyed. .........22. Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23. So he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be different from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and crush it. 24. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be different from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26. But the court will sit, and they shall take away his empire, to consume and to destroy it until the end. 27. And the kingdom and empire, and the greatness of the dominion under the whole heaven, will be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all empires shall serve and obey him. 28.
