I have discussed many times with LDS about this topic, and the bottom line in every discussion was, the Bible doesn't agree with the books of Mormon.
Doesn't agree with your interpretation of scripture. Dueling one person's interpretation versus another, resulting in thousands of different Protestant churches all competing: that's Protestantism in a nutshell.

I would agree!
I would also observe just deciding to make up your own truth from the "get go" explains Mormonism, Eckankar, Baha'i, Church of Scientology and others.
The approach I have chosen is, harmonize the Scriptures, and trust them completely.

Give it a shot.
This will make 686 "shots" so far.
I do have a suggestion for you, however.
Offer some substance for a change.
At least attempt to present a defense for your position.
So far, you are all "attack", and no information.

I'm not going to argue with a Christian about the deity of Christ. That is settled matter.

it is a strange thing how humans often deny that it's (in part) their own authority that proclaims what the bible says and it's your choice to have death or life since the Lord gave it to you. therefore man shall not know God by bread alone but by every breath of his living spirit. the letter kills but the spirit gives life.

And you're one of many who've claimed to have done that, all resulting in thousands of different theologies.
I am certainly one of many that claim to follow the Scriptures. So far, in roughly 60 years of talking to others, I have yet to find any other doctrine that truly harmonizes all Scripture. I would be happy to discover greater truth!!
So far, none have been found.

You know them all.
I know of NONE that state your claim.
And sadly, I suspect you already know this, but refuse to admit it.... which explains your timidity to engage, and preference for the snipe.

Not one Scripture mentions the "deity" of Christ.
MANY discuss Jesus as Lord.
MANY discuss Jesus as Jehovah's son.
MANY discuss Jesus as Jehovah's annointed, or Jehovah's Christ.
MANY discuss Jesus as a descendant of Adam, Abraham, Judah, David and Mary.

so "I and the Father are one" means nothing I guess
Of course it means something!
So does John 17:20-22 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Both mean that Jesus and his God are "one", just like all believers are "one" with Jesus and his God!

or what about that time Jesus said he was a Son of God? lol
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

2 Cor 6:17-18 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Your compliance with the Scriptures quoted is a different question than we are working on here, and one I am certainly not qualified to judge.
I have answered the questions you asked regarding Jesus as God's son, and Jesus being one with his God.
Do you have any other questions related to the trinity?

nope. I understand that 1 + 1 = 3
