According to some Catholics, mainly among recent converts to the church. But many Catholics are not that way at all.

From what I've seen, people who are solid in their faith (be them Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, or whatever) don't mind people disagreeing with them. It's the ones who are insecure and question themselves who overcompensate by lashing out when someone offers up an alternate viewpoint.

How is that a "misrepresentation" of Catholic teaching?

I was speaking of my own personal choice to put the Bible above what the Catholic Church teaches. (I do so in regard to what ANY church or individual teaches by the way.)

You are claiming that Catholics subjugate scripture. That is a falsehood.

The New Testament IS a Catholic book.

The New Testament IS a Catholic book.

I suggest if you want to accuse me of saying that, you find where I did so. If you want to take offense that I have personally chosen Scripture over any traditions or teaching of man, that's up to you. I am however, as you are as well, entitled to make that decision.

Also, the New Testament is the divinely inspired word of God, not a "Catholic book." It is not a product of tradition and it is not in any way man-made. It belongs to God, not any one Church or organization or individual. He, in His grace and mercy, has chosen to work through mankind to give it to us and to preserve it.

So you now believe that the flesh of Jesus is true food and that we must eat it?

This is not a literal thing, but spiritual. It is an illustration of how, unlike physical bread and wine and earthly food, true life is found in Christ alone.

That's not what the bible says, that is your personal opinion.

It makes no sense to insist that in order for there to be a remembrance (whether capitalized or not), the body and blood of Christ must be only ordinary bread and wine. That's a definite non-sequitur. And every church that does believe in the Real Presence also believes that the Lord's Supper is a remembrance, so there is no conflict with your point to that extent.

I agree.

Thank you and we agree.

Read those passages in context. Jesus is giving an illustration.

ie. the Catholic Church

In whatever ways, and by whichever means He's chosen. Interestingly, you may also want to research how the Catholic Church actually tried to keep the Scriptures from people. Pretty eye-opening.

I think you've been respectful as well. I've enjoyed reading your responses. :)

Thank you but I can not agree. My age is creeping up and I am losing the ability to be patient and understanding. Along with losing my teeth and hair.

And also, some have admitted that they are here just to fight, often because they have been told that most other people in society are out to "get" or damage their faith. In my opinion, to be here on an interdenominational discussion board with that as your purpose is an abuse of the forum.

:) Yes, sometimes I get quite frustrated as well. I try not to get overwhelmed or impatient though.

God bless you.

Jesus is God and can be everywhere at the same time.

Quoting Augustine:

"How this ['And he was carried in his own hands'] should be understood literally of David, we cannot discover; but we can discover how it is meant of Christ. FOR CHRIST WAS CARRIED IN HIS OWN HANDS, WHEN, REFERRING TO HIS OWN BODY, HE SAID: 'THIS IS MY BODY.' FOR HE CARRIED THAT BODY IN HIS HANDS." (Psalms 33:1:10)

That does not answer the question posed to you, and that is NOT what Psalms 33:1-10 says at all.
