Right. You said something that wasn't even a complete sentence and I was attempting to find out what your point is. So what is your point?

You didn't answer Aldebaran's question.

I was clear. All you had to do is know what you wrote in the previous post about the earth revolving around the sun.

Exactly! Take the solar eclipse coming up next month as an example. How could they predict such things in advance with such precision if it's done on a model that supposes a spherical earth that rotates and revolves around the sun if the reality is that the earth is flat and stationary? Total Solar Eclipse 2017: When, Where and How to See It (Safely)

No one who has looked into FE will be even slightly impressed or put off by such assertions when we know you've made no attempt to understand the topic from both sides. You all just look extremely ignorant.

Exactly. And the persistence disregards all attempts at correction or relief. Strange obsession if not paid for.

Looking into it, and understanding it as a reality are two different things. From what I've seen so far, the FE view is based on some of the verses we see in scripture, and it seems that people who believe in God (as I do) fear that if they accept the fact that the earth is a sphere rather than flat, they are not accepting God's Word literally and may be opening up the idea that other parts of scripture could be called into question.

Here is a really great article that demonstrates with some basic math how the Flat Earth model is impossible.

A Flat-Earth Prediction Falls Flat

I would really love it if anyone who supports a Flat Earth could explain away the simple math demonstrated here.

You haven't earned it.
Explain away seeing well past the curve at numerous locations.
For example the city of Chicago seen 54 miles away on Michigan's western shore.

Your response honestly is typical of someone who doesn't actually have any sort of credible response. The link I provided demonstrates very clearly in basic math how the Flat Earth Theory of the location of the sun does not work. Instead of acknowledging the article, your response is to move the goal post and bring up another topic. It's honestly typical, and I'm not surprised. It does make me sad for you as it demonstrates your lack of intellectual integrity.

But sure, I'll address your struggle in understanding the science behind mirages.

Understanding mirages on a spherical earth.

The above is a link which explains in very clear to understand detail the mirage effect. The more I read about Flat Earth Theory, the more it becomes clear to me that those who adhere to a Flat Earth theory actually don't take the time to understand science and physics beyond an elementary school age level.

Anyway, the video menu is ever expanding...

A video showing movies being made proves the earth is flat? Imagery of irrelevant items such as president Kennedy's assassination is proof of what, exactly? A guy who says "everything NASA puts out is a forgery" proves nothing. And then the montage of different people saying the earth is round followed by insults against them proves nothing either (unless name-calling is now considered to be valid proof of one's own claims).

Your video proves absolutely nothing other than the fact that people with conspiracy theories can make videos and put them on Youtube, and are able to waste 26 minutes of my day. However, NASA finally paid me to tell you that the earth is round, so I guess it wasn't a complete waste of my time. They're also taking me on a shuttle ride to see the bottom of the earth after we launch through the secret exit through the side of the dome right next to Antarctica.

Meanwhile, notice how I can also post Youtube videos, none of which will interest you.

He hasn't earned it? I guess I should feel a little better now seeing that I'm not the only person's arguments you dismiss based on nothing.

I was hoping that you, as a Flat Earther would be able to provide some counter explanation to the links that I provided. I'm perfectly open to the idea that the earth is flat, I just unfortunately haven't encountered any credible evidence. The links that you provide unfortunately do anything but add credibility.

The mirage effect is a known phenomenon with a perfectly rational explanation. It is explained very clearly HERE.

Also, the idea that the sun is very close and that the apparent sunrise and sunset are due to its proximity as it travels across the flat earth doesn't actually work because the size of the sun would so dramatically change. The article that explains how the Flat Earth Sun Model fails can be found HERE.

So unfortunately, unless a FE proponent can actually explain to me with where these articles are incorrect, I don't see any reason to doubt them.

And Rick, I don't even know why you choose to engage in these FE threads because you don't actually add any material to the conversation that would be considered useful. But that can change right here and right now if you'll help me understand the error in these two articles.

Nobody asked me to make my arguments.
When he asked me to, he hadn't obligated me in any way.
Having no idea what accuracy is in this context, you have no business telling me what the reality is.
That's true any way you want to read it.

You have been taught well what to think, but not at all how to do so.

Well, I'm glad you have that business.
As for credibility, I'd rather read accounts from people who have actually been to Antarctica and done actual research there than watch videos made by people who make silly Youtube videos that don't actually say anything at all: The Antarctica Diaries: week six

Now these are people who have earned the right to speak about what is there and what is not. Makes you wonder what they have a 10 meter telescope there for if they're supposedly right up against the edge of the dome the stars are painted on, doesn't it? Personally, I'd rather hear from folks who have been to Antarctica, done research there, and know what they're talking about rather than some dude who makes an internet video to do nothing but cast insults at people he doesn't agree with while putting forth his own view (not backed up by research) that the earth is flat.

SO glad you're glad!
Meanwhile....

You made a comment about Antartica, as it were, and how there is only a tiny space in which civilians (including scientists without clearance) can go.

What many people dont put together (although, I think you would appreciate this) is that Argentina, Chile, Britain, Norway, New Zealand, China... - several (7) "first world or technologically sufficient, and geopolitically relevant" countries somehow have plots of "claimed" territory that is also somehow not disputed, and not a constant militarized zone.

Yet, on the "main planetary surface," we are led to believe that these countries all hate each other for the common good of the people.

lol...

The fact that you need to label me Flat Earther is evidence enough to me of your unwillingness to think or investigate any more deeply than Aldi. I have no idea what the earth looks like in its totality. But I do have good eyesight and a given circumference is going to have a corresponding formula to the curve.

That you think being able to see Chicago from Michigan or The Arch in St. Louis from 50 miles south is due to refraction or mirage is laughable to me because I have seen both and there is a video of a guy in a boat with a camera kept on the city skyline from Michigan as the boat travels all the way across. The mirage theory is debunked. There are plenty more such proofs on youtube, but it seems they must be outside your comfort zone.

WOW! Some guy on YouTube! Well, that settles it. Except for the people that actually live in Michigan. You see, we can actually go to the lakeshore with a telescope. And when I am on the beach in Grand Haven Michigan looking west, I cannot see Milwaukee, even though it is directly across from Grand Haven. Now I suppose the government or illuminati could have tampered with my telescope, or it could be the mind control haze on the beach or it could be that the earth is round. But let’s assume that NASA and the lizard people are pulling a fast one with the round earth, then why are they not millions of pictures of Milwaukee on the internet taken from the Michigan shore? Why are there not pictures of Great Brittan from the Empire State Building? There are pretty detailed pictures of the moon from earth, why not Russia from Sara’s House?

You make no sense at all Rick, none. If I wanted to investigate the truth of belief X, a really good way to do that is to talk to someone who holds belief x. Likewise, my non-Christian friends know that I'm a Christian, and so when they have a question about Christianity they ask me. It makes sense, right? As far as I can tell, you do not believe that the earth is round, so I was hoping to pick your brain a bit and perhaps learn some things.

But for whatever reason, you have some serious issues and a wall twice as tall as Trump promised to build and appear to actually be incapable of having any sort of decent conversation. Your're insulting in your speech, demeaning, rude, and a terrible representation of a Christian. I'll leave you to your 1-2 sentence last words.

No you weren't. You might sincerely believe that, but I know better.
But for whatever reason, you have some serious issues...
You are so far out of line with that I would report if it would actually make any difference.
You owe me more than one apology for your malicious ad homs from behind your self-deceiving demeanor.

That was your intent in the first place, To hate on me. Well done.
