I've been with my current employer for many many years but there is absolutely zero job reward and most of the employees around me are annoying, cuss and are self indulgent. Meaning, I work for a sales oriented company and this company is run by pure greed. Aren't most companies though? I perform my job very well but at the end of the day, no matter how good I am at my job, there's something missing.

As I grow in faith, I would prefer to have a career in some capacity where I can work for our Lord. Does that make sense? Maybe at a church, or some other organization where I know my hard work and dedication is for a better purpose. Not only that, it would be a breath of fresh air working around civil people who place God first in their lives.

I know God doesn't want us to run away from our problems and I understand the fact that He wants us to be a witnesses to Him, but I can certainly fulfill that anywhere, not just at work which wouldn't make much impact.

Searching employment sites like Indeed or Glass Door leaves little to discover, at least in my area. Does anyone know of any employment sites I can browse?

Links would be helpful.

Thanks!

I'm not in a "full-time ministry" career, but in terms of the job market, I've found that CareerBuilder.com and LinkedIn.com are good resources. You might also fire up Twitter and follow some organizations that you might be interested in working for. More and more I'm finding that many organizations are posting jobs on their Twitter feeds.

Yes, good points. I have used LinkedIn but haven't really been on there much, or explored it's true power. I don't have a Twitter account but will look into that as well.

Since I've not had to worry about other employment for many years I first need to create a new resume and cover letter. I'm working on that too!

I'm sure in time something will come along. The nice thing about all this is that I'm in no rush and have a steady job. As they say, the best time to look for a job is when you already have one. :)
