Are there any godly video games I could play?

I am just wondering, as many secular video games don't align with Christian values.

Personally, I don't play video games, computer games or smartphone games anymore.

When I was in elementary school and junior high, I had a video game cartridge (original Nintendo game system) called Bible Adventures

YES! I remember playing the old Nintendo NES, "Exodus:, "Bible Adventures" and "Spiritual Warfare" games, SW was actually a decent game, very similar to the Legend of Zelda in game play style.

I still have that game, it was really good. I never got why going to the pawn shop was a sin though.

I even had a gameboy cartridge of the Bible that let you search key words. I took it with me on mission trips in case I needed to find a verse. It was like having mobile Bible software before mobile computers.

I think gem-matching games like Bejeweled 3 are fairly neutral/harmless to play. Lately I've been enjoying 10,000,000 and You Must Build a Boat on the pc (both on Steam), and they are cute casual games without any negative undertones, in my opinion.

1Co 13:11 KJV When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

try this instead; it will change your life, and it's free:

Are you specifically talking about Christian-oriented games (that strongly tie in with God and the Bible), or just wholesome games that contain nothing morally objectionable according to Biblical standards?

I know of a game you might enjoy that's in the latter category. It's a time-management game called Rescue Frenzy, and what you do is you form a rescue team to rebuild towns and communities after devastating disasters. It is not directly related to God and Scriptures, but there is nothing remotely evil in it - no fighting or anything "weird" - and focuses on doing what's right. You might even find it relaxing, especially in view of all the problems going on in the world.

You might be able to find it online by Googling the title; however, I don't know if they are the full version of the game. My personal copy is the full version as I had purchased a multi-game CD at the store which contained this game.

Hope this helps. :)

I think Christians tend to have too narrow a view on what constitutes as godly. even something like a heroic story represents something from heaven and having fun with other humans can be a great blessing from God.

I'm unaware of any games that are overtly Christian that I'd recommend.

Now, in Civilization IV, V, and VI, you could found and/or spread Christianity. I feel that IV handles religion better than V and VI. You can spend a lot of time playing those games, though.

I always liked the Fable games, just because you could choose good or evil.:)
I can't really advise directly because I don't play video games; but the general point would also be that, whatever it is, even a 'good' game can become a bit addictive, I suppose.

Most definitely, I had times when I was a teenager I'd come straight home from school and play until bedtime for months on end. Thank goodness I don't do that anymore! Now I only play every few months when I get a new game.

PS: @celestialpearl Also, it depends on what situation one is already in; like, some ppl are more or less addicted to unsuitable video games; others play occasionally but are looking for something better; it's sometimes not a clear-cut matter of right or wrong.

For some reason, this feels like a subtle analogy.XD
