To the OP title: No one can say for sure because he has not yet been revealed 2 Thess 2:1-10. My guess he is alive currently and probably somewhere in the Middle East.

Two options:

1) It was Nero, and he's dead already

2) Nobody knows who it is.*

*The cool thing about the nobody knows potential is that people don't realize that Satan doesn't know either. Jesus was very clear that nobody knows except the Father when He's going to return. If that was the case, then it necessarily means that Satan doesn't know either. If Satan doesn't know whether Christ is returning in 5 years or 5,000 years then he cannot know who the anti-Christ is.

In 1975 Dannion Brinkley had a near death experience and was shown
some things about the anti-Christ that sure seemed to fit with scripture.

There was an even more sinister side to this chip. A person's lifetime could be limited by programming this chip to dissolve & kill him with the viral substance it was made from. Lifetimes were controlled like this to avoid the cost that growing old places on the government. It was also used as a means of eliminating people with chronic illnesses that put a drain on the medical system. People who refused to have chips implanted in their bodies roamed as outcasts. They could not be employed & were denied government services.

What the Scripture says is truth.
What men say is true, if it agrees with all Scripture, and with God's Motive and God's Plan and God's Purpose.
Mostly, though, what men say is not truth; everything is subject to testing.

Is he the worthless shepherd in Zechariah?

All the times John uses the term "anti Christ" is with a small "a". New translations capitalize the "anti" to make it a Pronoun (AntiChrist). People see then a person. The new world translations also include the word "the", where it didn't exist. The AntiChrist.

I accept the KJV and not any translation who screws with the mind to change the image (to make orthodoxy appear as truth)

In my study, the antichrist are those that wanted man to believe that Christs words should be influenced by non Christ messages. To influence the Gospel with non Gospel. I personally see the emergence of the early catholic ideology as a departure from the Gospel message. Adding the Hebrew scriptures (which confused the Jews) to the Gospel, confuses the words of Christ truth with untruth.

Orthodoxy has led people to believe that this AntiChrist is coming. John was saying that the Gospel was being attacked by it then. If you are a dualist, it makes complete sense. If you have a belief that there is just one god (of influence) then the image gets cloudy (at least to me).

Todays Judaism is antichrist in that term. So is Islam. Both from the seeds (knowledge) of Abraham (through Moses words) and his offspring. (Isaac and Ishmael)

In truth, Christ shares no bloodline with either.

The words of Christ is all truth, the only truth. To rearrange or change the truth of the Gospel message, to promote anything but the spiritual message it dictates, are done by antichrist.
