The same thing that's wrong with every other campaign slogan: in the best case scenario, another promise broken; at worst, the self-proclaimed benevolence of a collective that ultimately seeks to restrict individual activity.

Mark 9:33-35

33Then they came to Capernaum. While Jesus was in the house, He asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?” 34But they were silent, for on the way they had been arguing with each other which of them was the greatest.

35Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the last of all and the servant of all.”

Seems that Americans these days just hate the thought of it for some reason ?

Perhaps they are unfamiliar with Scripture. Trying to be first except in love and service is unChristian.

'The first shall be last, and the last first.'

Meanwhile being first in the number of people in prison, people made bankrupt through medical bills and deaths by violence is really not any kind of achievement.

God wants us to love others as ourselves.

Also, we are the one nation of Jesus, with citizens all around the world and all through eternity.

And we are not about only life and liberty and pursuit of happiness only or mainly for our own selves. But we care about others as well as we care about our own selves, plus we are not interested in competing, but sharing as family.

Our country does more to help poor people around the world than any other country.

Probably more than all other countries put together.

Yet some still cry all we care about is ourselves.

The entire issue is the fact that this help comes at a cost to ourselves and others, thus not doing any good for anyone except the political elite. Just as we should not feed wildlife, we should not feed, clothe, or shelter the homeless in the world. It does a man no good to be fed a fish, without being taught how to fish. (Something that Trump did acknowledge as a candidate, only to forget as president.)

Absolutely nothing wrong with America-first. It's Biblical! (if you're an American, that is)

Article: Should Christians Embrace Nationalism? A Question of Origins

Rom. 13:6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

If we can't put our country above others, what about the pledge of allegiance? Should we not recite it? What about military service? Is that not the ultimate expression of country-first nationalism?

Trump has absolutely kept this promise. Maybe you need to stop criticizing him and give him some credit.

Even if you assume all of those articles are true, they don't contradict my argument you quoted. Maybe you'd like to explain how it is we're still in the middle east? Or better yet, care to address how it is we're still subsidizing the defense of western Europe? I didn't say Trump is doing no good, or that he broke every campaign promise.

(P.S. Separation of powers don't exactly work on those issues. The president alone does have the power to retreat and withdraw from any treaty or treatise the United States has entered in agreement with.)

The greater we are the more we can do for others.

So if not us, who do you all want to be greater than us?

If I lived in another country I doubt that we would be able to sponsor several children in other (poor) countries.

Yes, those little ones and their parents think that America is full of very generous people.

Again what's wrong with treaties? Trump just wants good treaties that are fair. The Climate treaty was not (and a waste of time). And being in the middle east in some respects serves our national interests.

I don't think you realize how long things take and how young Trump's Presidency is. Things take time. Trump wants to change all kinds of agreements and I believe it'll get done. In the meantime, why can't give credit for what he's accomplished already, and show some patience. It's been 6 months!

I gave no breaks to Obama, I have no reason to give any such breaks to Trump. He has the ability to do and promised to do, yet does not do. Period.
