What is the source of tears when God wipes them away . Many tears will be because we failed and people went to hell .
Luke 13:7-9 tells me there's a chance .. Chance means maybe ,maybe not
Then many are called few are chosen . Not all called are chosen . It depends on what we choose when we are called as to whether or not we become chosen ..

It means people who chose to love Jesus basically. How is that unclear? If they choose, then they also are chosen of God.
No. There are many who "chose" Jesus, but are rejected.

No, it is God that makes us the chosen after we chose Him. It is a relationship.
That's not what Scripture says.
Jesus says "YOU DID NOT CHOSE ME".... to His disciples.

This is still unchanged today - forever truth, unchangeable.

How does this relate to the OP?

No I repeatedly laid it out clearly so that even a child could understand it. Where your question was

"Who is doing the choosing?" The answer was both us and God.
So "my chosen profession" means that I am choosing my profession, and my profession is choosing me?

That seems strange.

Then why bring it up? It doesn't say everyone needs to eat Popsicles either...so?
I guess if you'd look at the post I was responding to, you'd see why it was brought up. It wasn't posted in a vacuum.

If you look at it correctly, it means whoever is believing. It doesn't say that anyone can believe. It just says that those who do have eternal life.

It says WHOSOEVER! That means that ANYONE can come to a saving knowledge of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ, not just certain people that God selected before He made the world.

Hosea 6:6 (KJV)
“For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Luke 15:10
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Ezekiel 33:11
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

With those Scriptures, I say to you that God wants all to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus, and not just lemming-like creatures that dare not think lest Calvin will smite them.

You can believe John Calvin if you want to. I will continue to believe in the Bible.

That is correct. In the sense of being chosen as apostles, He chose. They did chose to believe and follow though. There are more chosen people than just the 12.
This is still unchanged today - forever truth, unchangeable.
Not for salvation. That is a matter of our choice. Anyone who wants. Period. Now if we want to time travel 2000 years and hold the office of an apostle, well no. He picked those.

Why do so many of these discussions end up with insults. I don't know what I did to you personally that would lead to this.

Anyway, you are reading into the text something that isn't there. Whoever doesn't mean anyone. It just means whoever. And the text says that whoever believes gets eternal life.
