Well no, not if I have to believe in it.
You said knowing, I doubt you know you're going to heaven (As fact)

Well, yes. I meant in the present tense. You determine every day or every second of where you want to go. God does not force save people into His Kingdom (Despite what some Christians may say to you). We have to choose this day every day in whom we serve. We are either serving the Lord our God or we are serving sin. One path leads to eternal life and the other path leads to death. So yes. You are right; I do not have a 100% certainty future tense, but I can have a relatively close assurance. For what is the alternative? A life of going back to feeling hollow and empty? Seeking pleasures of this world that never truly satisfy? I think not. A person can gain the whole world and yet lose their own soul. Such a thing would be futile.

Death It is! Wazoo.

Well, not all Christians who hold to "Conditional Immortality" (in regards to Hell and the Lake of Fire) think that the wicked will be instantly annihiated. Some like myself believe in "Dualistic Conditional Immortality" and hold to the view that there is a real literal hell (i.e. not a torture chamber in flames but more like a really bad prison where the wicked are conscious for only certain periods of time) and then after the Judgment, the wicked will be punished for their sins for a certain amount of time in the Lake of Fire and then they will be destroyed, or erased from existence both body and soul.

In other words, nobody is going to get away with their sin; They are going to be punished and it is not going to be fun. But God will not punish the wicked beyond what the crimes call for. God will be fair in His judgment and justice.

Side Note:

Oh, and please do not swear (even if it is in Australian). It is not the right thing to do, my friend.
Thank you; And may God's love shine upon you.

Not knowing my history, I can understand your reasoning. But I've already passed the bar, and been waved in. Baptized and born again I experienced a great many things. But none of it was based in the rational.

Well, before I accepted Christ, I used to be an atheist for a time. But God used love to soften my heart to His existence. Then, on the day that I met the Lord, there was no way I could ever deny His existence from that point on. It was like a light went on inside of me and I had a peace that I had never known before. I felt set free from sin, too. I wanted everyone to know what I felt. I wanted everyone to know Jesus. I started to put sinful things of this world out of my life. In time, I later fell away into a life of sin for a few years, but I never denied Jesus as my Savior. When I renewed my faith in Christ by calling unto the Lord to rededicate my life back to Him in all my ways, then God brought my Christian wife into my life and I started to study God's Word with a passion like never before. I started to grow in my walk with the Lord and it was beautiful. I also discovered many biblical evidences that backed up God's Word, as well. So I discovered that my faith was logical (even though I did not need to know that). It was merely the cherry on top of my ice cream sundae. So for me, my faith is very rational. If you never experienced that, then you must have missed something or you did not truly come to the Lord on His terms the way that I did.

Why do Christians use death as a way to trap people into accepting their beliefs. Using the unknown to scare people to think their way.

It's very underhanded.
I see you are a seeker. How much of the Bible have your sought out in your seeking? I think a lot of your questions can be answered by examining the Bible.

If someone told you to get off the railroad tracks before you get hit by a train, would you accuse them of using death to trap you into agreeing with them? Are they just trying to scare you into thinking like them? Are they being underhanded?

Or, do they simply care enough that they don't want to see you get hurt?

Greetings,
I have some startling news for you.
It really does not matter what either of you believe .
All that matters is what is Written in the Most Holy Written Word Of God and it is written there is.

This belief of yours.... (Christians like us) is actually a doctrine of demons. It's deception and you may want to wake up.
Blessings
FCJ

Well, there are actually more verses that support Conditional Immortality than Eternal Concious Torment. Check out my recent post here in another CF thread to compare them.

Anyways, a true doctrine of demons is any teaching that paints God in a bad light.
For what could be more immoral than saying that God punishes the wicked waaay beyond what the crime calls for? Can you make a real world example of the goodness of God doing this? Surely you cannot because it violates basic morality and fair justice. But good luck with trying to prove otherwise.

I guess only a God can be good and get away with it.

I am not saying that God did not create man with the capacity to do some good without Him living within them. But I believe God placed it upon men's hearts to do good as a part of creating them. They have lost their way to truly do good that is perfectly in line with God's will. This is why a person needs God. They cannot act in God's perfect will without God working in their life.

So you label yourself a "seeker" because?

And to save time, a possible answer to that is "I'm always seeking" or something like that, when in reality, that's just deceptive.

I'm now a seeker, it's the only acceptable title.

Excellent.

Let's start your seeking with some seeking God verses:

Acts 17:27
that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.

1 Chronicles 22:19
"Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD."

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Hosea 10:12
Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.

Amos 5:4-6
For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel, "Seek Me that you may live.

Zephaniah 2:3
Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD'S anger.

Zechariah 8:20-23
"Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'It will yet be that peoples will come, even the inhabitants of many cities. 'The inhabitants of one will go to another, saying, "Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts; I will also go." 'So many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD.'

Proverbs 8:17
"I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.

Matthew 7:7-8
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Luke 11:9-10
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

Hurt by the train or hurt by hell? Only one of these methods will hit you once.
