How do I seek with all my heart??
Hi LostChild
Psalm 27 gives us an idea of what seeking the Lord with all our heart looks like. Meditate on it and see if it helps.
One
thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
Hear, O LORD,
when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the LORD will take care of me.
Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!
Know dear one that the Lord is indeed good, good, good beyond our conception and so merciful beyond measure. His desire is for you to know Him and draw you into the depths of His love. That is why He sent His Son to die so that you might live to Him and rise to be His child forever dear one. Christ poured Himself out for you as He did for us.
Look to that cross and replace the word 'whoever' with your own name to personalize the Scripture passage of John 3:14-16 - This might help to drive it home to your heart. His Word is living and able to cut to the heart of the matter, even bringing our thoughts into subjection to His love, beauty and purity - the sacred heart of Jesus!
- John 3:14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, [1] even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,[2] that LostChildinTheMidst believes in Him should not perish but [have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that LostChildinTheMidst believes in Him and should not perish but have everlasting life.
- Numbers 21:7-9
- The cross has taken the sting of sin and death, our curse, away by the love of Jesus, the precious Lamb of God who gave Himself for you Lost child in the Midst
You are precious to Him and He desires to purge all those lies you have been telling yourself out of your soul and refashion you into His work of art. Just surrender yourself to Him and let His Spirit start fashioning your life. Believe He can transform anyone! I am a brother he rescued from doubts and whom He plucked from the fires and I am praying for you. The love of God is wider, deeper and higher than we can imagine and His mercies have cast our sins as far as the east is from the west. You are clean in Christ and a new creature in Him, reborn to form new eyes to see, ears to hear, and hands and feet to delight in working by His side in His love story!!!
