What is the essence of your theology? What can it be reduced to? What is the most important thing about what you believe that you would want to convey to anyone, especially someone with little time left on this earth?

What would you share about Christianity with a person who had only has a few hours left to live?

That God so loves us that He sent His own Son Jesus for us, to so suffer and die for us, on Calvary's cross. And God desires for us to be conformed to the image of Jesus > Romans 8:29. And now we can have peace with God, in our hearts. And right now, no matter what is happening to our bodies, we can submit to God and share with Him and share with God Himself in the best of love and intimacy that we ever have had and enjoyed. And then, if we have "trusted in Christ" (Ephesians 1:12), we will be resurrected when Jesus returns.

I would not attempt to manipulate a dying person. If he or she asked I would answer. If not I would keep quiet and pray. I might ask if they are capable of replying, is there anything you want? Anyone you want to see? Do you want to say a prayer? No more than that.

If they said yes to the prayer it would be the Lord's Prayer.

God doesn't need me to do anything else; the Holy Spirit is perfectly capable of doing whatever he thinks right, quietly and peacefully in that person's heart.

If anyone tried that with someone I love they would soon be shown the door.

The first priority when someone is dying is to look after that person, not to salve our own conscience by vomiting our own personal gospel all over them.

Yes, we should not be vomiting our own gospel on people. This is why I offered what the Bible says is the gospel. And this is on topic to the question of the thread > what is our theology?

This would come in context with how I would be attending to the person.

So you would leave a dying person to die in their sins just so you don't feel like you guilted them into something? Interesting.

The whole point of "repentance" is you change, turn away from wicked ways.

It's very easy for people to obey and be a saint when death is staring them at the face. Are those the kind of people that God wants to save?

Remember Jesus on the Cross, He did not even bother/waste time to try saving the other thief.....

The whole world is mourning in Matthew 24 because they know what's coming! Judgement! And it's far too late for them!

Sounds like heaping up a huge burden on somebody who has only minutes to live.

Here's the shocker, how can you prove that you believe in Jesus at the death bed??

John 14:12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

You simply can't at the deathbed. It's far too late.

Luke 16:31
31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

And here I thought that one thief made it to paradise.

And this trusting in Jesus takes care of such a burden.

And it is possible that the dying person then does not die; and so he or she has been given seeds which can grow and help the person in this life.

Oh I don't know TW, this much seems possible, doesn't it?

John 5
24 "He who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life".

As far as "proof" goes, that's for us, for our assurance .. e.g. 2 Corinthians 13:5; cf James 2:24. God knows our hearts .. cf Psalms 139:1-6

Even if He didn't, I'm pretty sure He'd still know, wouldn't He (considering He's the One who justifies us ;)).

In Christ,
David

John 6
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent".

You obviously didn't understand the OP. The question is about one's gospel, not about deathbed etiquette.

You aren't an evangelist, I hope.

The gospel does not teach 'death bed salvation'. Depending on this man's mental/physical condition, it may be too late for him.
How about deathcross salvation?
