Very good, except for the feeling I got about the writer referring Joseph as always being gracious and forgiving from the start on when seeing again his brothers, since he at first felt really hurt and angry towards them. He wanted to learn them a lesson by making it look like the younger brother stole something and then keeping him imprisoned for a while. It was later that he became more softened in his heart to manage forgiving them and treating them kindly.

Though this is why I like many of the character examples of the bible, none were perfect, and they too had their flaws. They did mistakes like us, and still they were loved and used by God. :)

I also wanted to add that you too are very encouraging, it is great reading those daily devotionals you share in here and looking at the pictures you pick out as well. You have a good sense for picking out the right pictures as well.

That's sweet of you to think so well about me. It is always great sharing bible verses from the bible, as well as thoughts connected with what the bible tells us. :) It builds up the one sharing it as well as the one receiving it, if it truly is given in the right time, that is, concerning the one receiving it.

Thank you for the nice comment about my poem, I am glad you liked it. :) We may have had similiar experiences, though different life stories as every life experience will be different the same way as every person is different. But one can ofcourse relate in many ways, and recognise one's self in other people's situations.

I agree with you, it is also nice getting help and support from others too.

You are a great blessing yourself too! :congrat:

You are welcome. Sharing God's Word with other believers along with our life experiences is fulfilling. Thank you for your kindness towards me. Many blessings. :)

Amen. You bring out some very valid points. It just goes to show that in our humanness we can all make mistakes, not only us and the people of the Bible, but the many writers who write these devotionals. But we have a God who truly understands where each one of us are coming from.

It is such a powerful short bible verse 1 John 4:19 "We love Him because He first loved us."

Especially the part about wanting to sin whilst having in mind that it is seen as bad in God's eyes, because we are being kept bound in this fleshly body. We are meant to walk in the Spirit, yet we cannot avoid sinning sometimes. Though we as believers in Christ do get convicted by the Holy Spirit when we sin and also helps us and gives us the desire to change from this, knowing it is wrong and bad what we are doing.

Knowing He is still merciful toward us and loving us despite of our short-comings, this is of great encouragement for us.

True! :) Though I sometimes also share a bible verse or more with some of my non-believing penfriends too if it fits the topic we are discussing or something I am sharing. I don't do this all the time, but sometimes whenever I get reminded of a bible verse I take the chance in sharing it. You never know what changes it can bring or what can get sown into that friend's heart, and if it is God that put it into your mind to share it.

Also true, the devotional writers can make mistakes too. ;) Hehe... We can also have times where we don't always agree with everything a writer tells, she did have a good point in most of her devotional. :)

It reminds me of what Paul said in Romans 7:15-20. Pretty much speaks for itself. There is nothing we can do without the help of the Lord. We will never truly be perfect until we see Jesus. He wants us to strive for holiness and be the best we can be, but there was only one perfect person, and that's Jesus Christ.

I agree with you on the sharing. My workplace had a barbecue yesterday. I got to talking to a lady whose daughter had cancer. I have been through the cancer route and still going through many things in my life. I do believe that it was the right moment and the right time to share with her, and God opened the door for me to be able to talk to her. I praise God for His love, grace, and mercy that He shows to us all. I am so undeserving, but Jesus blesses. :)

Take care, and have a good one. :)

So true! I also thought of that verse of Paul, it is great getting affirmation through the sharing of bible verses too. It also teaches us that we should become more humble, and that our own strenght is weak compared to God's strenght. We are nothing compared to God's power, we are merely small beings compared to Him.

Just during yesterday sometime and most of today I had this "feeling" over me which I considered annoying, a "fleshly need or urge", sometimes it helps taking a nap, but today it still remained the same feeling over me, until I read one chapter(sometimes I also read more than just one chapter)in the bible as I do every day now, and then it disappeared. :) Though we still need to keep on working on our focus, and like I also thought of during earlier today after having gotten it in mind yesterday after reading something else on this site, that "every day we are given a choice to where we put our focus, and whom to serve." I also underlined in colour this bible verse which I read in today's chapter, 1 Peter 4:7 "But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers." That we do as we say, and don't say it and then think otherwise. Although, He is still merciful even when we fail, but still, we shouldn't remain stuck in our sinning, especially not when we knowingly know it is wrong.

That's great God opened up a possibility for you to share at your workplace yesterday. He does many times use the difficulties we have endured being used for something good, Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." It always makes the heart glad when being able to share something from God to others, there is such a special joy in doing this, but also for own encouragement and edification.

God continue blessing you this day!

I am so glad that we can talk with one another and share our experiences with each other. There are a lot of times that I do not feel worthy to even take prayer to God, even though I know He is gracious and He is with me. As it states in Isaiah 64:6, our own righteousness is no better than filthy rags. God has spared my life more than once, so I know there is a purpose. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I believe that time is closer than we might think. We don't know the day or hour, but we are given the signs, and they are definitely here. So we can strive to do our best for the Kingdom of God, and the only way we can do that is with the help of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Blessings and hugs to you as well, mi amiga.

I remember when I was a bit younger, I don't remember the exact age, but I remember when reading that part in Matthew 11:28–30, how it gave me more peace of mind and joy about being able to find rest when going to Jesus Christ with all of my worries and struggles. It is so easy to stay stuck in all which makes life heavier for us, easy to think one has to manage everything by one's self. The time we live in are very based on doing this, I think? That the stronger ones should manage handling most things by themselves, not even going to a counselor nor getting much helped, if you do any of these you are then considered as weak?

It is important with having rest in Him, like a phone that needs getting charged, we too need getting recharged and strenghtened anew.

I thought I could give a bit proper reply to this. It builds up and strenghtens sharing own experiences with one another, as well as we will also be learning from each other. :) Especially when sharing about what God has done and is still doing in our lives, I wish I also had someone whom I could have met face to face too over here where we live, someone I could be confident with about these things, e.t.c...

So far I don't have this type of friendship, most people rather talks more about secular stuff, which can be fine too, though I am the type who loves talking about the "deeper" sides of life. I do ponder way too much, perhaps? ;) It seemes to me that most people, both non-Christians and Christians prefers engaging more in easy secular talks, rather than trying to think more of the bigger questions and answers of life. I know it should be more than enough having God to talk to, and I do talk with Him too. Yet, I have times where I also miss having someone I could communicate with as a friend face to face as well, or someone I could confide in.

I do know God can bless us with new friendships, and at this point he has blessed me with friends through the internet as well as penfriends, which I am grateful for as well(though most of these friends aren't the types who enjoyes talking about what I have mentioned for you in here, except for in here with you or with others in this forum). Although I sometimes miss a friend whom I could meet over here too, but I also know that at this point God wants my whole attention, something which still needs a lot of work. :( I think I can be somewhat stubborn, this can be both in a good as well as in a bad way. Still much to be worked on in me.

True, our own righteousness isn't as good as God's righteousness, same way with our own understanding too. Our understanding is really that "limited", and yet we sometimes think we may understand beyond our own capacity.

You are truly a strong lady of God's Kingdom, He has helped you overcome a lot, and I believe He still keeps on helping you now too!? Without His strenght and help we won't manage anything, we are nothing without Him. But when we stand in Him and keep ourselves close to Him and in His Word, then we become great in His eyes. Not great in a way so that we can boast in ourselves, but we become great when we stay grounded in His love and truth!

God bless you too, and His grace shine on you, forever and ever!

First off, I want to thank you for this post. I know what you are talking about. Everybody wants that face to face friend that they feel they can confide in. Sometimes it is hard to find such a person. I myself had friends that have come and gone in my life. I think everybody has gone through this, and if they haven't, they will. Pondering is a good thing. I do that myself. I still have many questions to life I don't understand. But God does give us the answers at the right time, and does work through people, whether it's internet or face to face, in ways we could never have even imagined. And we will never understand the things of life fully until we see God face to face. I'm reminded of 1 Corinthians 13:12 where Paul is talking about seeing through a glass darkly and we will never fully know on this earth, but everything will be revealed clearly when we truly get home. We are only strangers passing through this life. He puts us in the pathway of who he wants us to talk to, whether it's internet or face to face.

I don't believe there is anything much I can add to what you have already stated about being nothing in our own strength. You said it very well. I will add this, that there are still many things I don't understand myself. I do know God has a purpose for me because I rightfully should not be walking the face of this worth. I can only hope that my testimony will help someone. Even if it's just one or two, it will be worth it all.

I am very grateful and blessed that our Heavenly Father has placed you and me in each other's pathway, Crowned Princess. Blessings always to you, my friend and sister in Christ.
