Why I might commit suicide. I believe in Jesus Christ.

I am 20 years old, and i have depression, have bad OCD, and am living a bad life. You guys will think I am absolutely crazy, but this is what really is going on.

I fear for our future. I fear that one day we will be living in 'avatars' which this website 2045.com is planning to make happen. This is called Trans-humanism. I watched alot of YouTube videos warning about transhumanism, and how they plan to make humans immoral, including to the point of ending death completely. They will succeed, and one day society will look down upon those who not have 'upgraded' to an avatar.

I fear this century so much that taking my own life before technology takes over the world, and transhumanism making dying of natural causes impossible and therefore meeting Jesus and going to heaven which was my life's goals until I heard of Transhumanism..

My mind is overwhelmed and I can not take it anymore. I am sorry to those I offended but i just needed help and the hope to die naturally and meeting Jesus in Heaven one day. Ultimately, I want to live a great life on earth and then die of natural causes and meet Jesus in heaven.

"You are born as a man, you die as a man" a great quote. That's that I want to do, but with technology advancing fast, and people like 2045.com, I might be forced to become immoral as a robot instead of a human, thus never dying and meeting Jesus in Heaven.

Also I would like to point out this: I am not saying I want HUMANITY to die one day of natural causes, I believe in free choice and if they want to live forever in avatar's, it is their decision, not mine. I personally do not know why anyone would live eternally on earth and in space instead of dying and meeting Jesus in heaven one day, but I respect their wishes. All I want is to choose to stay human and die one day, not being forced by society to live forever on earth as an avatar, the advanced robot.

No one will ever convince me to live forever as an avatar. I refuse to upgrade and live as an avatar. I want to stay human and die of natural causes.

Brother, pray to God, tell Him everything you have here.

He wants you to not worry, for today has enough worries of its own, and tomorrow will worry about its self.

He wants you to be free in Him.

He wants to teach you how to live in Him by His Holy Spirit.

He is love, and loves you so passionately He died for you so that you can be made free in Him and dead to your old man.

He will always protect you and has a great plan for you.

He will be with you even to the end of the age, even to the end of your flesh.

You need not worry, for all these tings must take place before He returns.

Seek Him brother, every day.

Stay in Him.

Eat of His Bread and Drink of His Water.

It is everlasting.

Don't be a part of it, leave it behind, separate yourself from it and draw near to God, instead, you should start feeling a lot better if you do...

I am sure you guys know who Ray Kurzweil is and what he is trying to do. Also you should check out 2045 Initiative to get a better understanding of what they are trying to do and come back to tell me of you think if their goal is possible or not. If they will succeed or not. What I am afraid of is that they will dedicate their whole lives doing this and will do whatever it takes to make their goal happen. They already have a bionic arm, and I am afraid what comes next. Artificial wombs, Head Transplants, etc.

I suggest you don't worry about it, or be or get into it too much, I mean, it's still going to be awhile, right? Even if they can make it happen, which i doubt, but...

I think divine intervention will happen before that, you should be focused on that instead... And look (forward) to/for his return, when we who have kept our human hearts or our humanity, will go to be with him, and then, rule an reign here...

Get that in your head instead, 2045 is a long way off yet, I have enough stuff daily and on a day to day basis to be concerned about, don't you...?

Don't worry, the "science" behind this particular aspect of transhumanism is more fantasy at this stage. Most real neuroscientists know there are more obstacles than the simple-minded faith of the transhumanists are willing to acknowledge. This is not dissimilar to faith in flying cars in the 60's (have you seen any flying cars recently?).

Brother, I fear that you give this man too much credit. It seems like your imagination has painted him as some kind of dangerous man who will relentlessly pursue his goal, unstoppable, and will eventually accomplish his goal and threaten your life. That's how it seems when you speak of how he is a genius, takes a hundred pills a day, and will dedicate his entire life to it.

He's lying about taking a hundred pills a day, too - he can't do it, it'd kill him. I suspect he wishes he were a James Bond villain!

I will pray the Lord that He help you and open your eyes as well, so that you will see that it is only your fear that makes him seem so scary.

You need to get away from the computer man! That stuff is nonsense. My son sits in the basement and watches YouTube for hours but I explain to him not everything you watch is true, far from it.

Listen, you need to take your mind off that stuff and find other hobbies, things you enjoy to occupy your time. Don't stress about it, God has everything under control and you'll find out one day. Because we live in a fallen world (Satan's Domain) there's a ton of deception out there and this is great way Satan can control people into believing that stuff! Human beings are fascinated about technical things and fall into a trap because something may be presented in a very intelligent way. Does that make it accurate?

If you want to read something, spend more time in these forums instead of YouTube. But, there's nothing wrong with YouTube, don't get me wrong. It's just there's a ton of deception out there so you have to be careful man.

The only people who will be unable to die will be those who take the mark (Rev 9:6) and then only for a short time.

All this talking the transhumanism people do is just that, all talk. They will never make themselves, or anyone else, immortal. God will allow them to walk in this sin up to a certain point and then they'll be able to progress no further, because they aren't in charge of anything.

Concern yourself with your own walk with God, and let Him handle the rest.

Also, this is what I read about Revelation 9:6 - "In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them."

No one is trying to convince you to live forever as an avatar and never die. That is beyond the scope of human ability for the forseeable future. It's a false fear so you don't see what the real danger is.

What the Enemy in this age is really trying to convince you to do, is to live only as an avatar, and to die having never lived.

As long as there is life there is hope, I think it is not reasonable to end life by yourself. It is against God’s law and as long as you live, you have possibility to do good. The longer you live, the more you can do good.

Heavens Gate was really just a UFO cult with Christian influences. Modern transhumanism is more sophisticated. But it's still often more fanciful than scientific.

I've read all about Dmitry Itskov's plan to transfer human consciousness to avatars. In fact, I've known about it for years. There are several things wrong with this transhumanist idea, namely the fact that it won't be the exact "mind" that is transferred to an avatar, but merely a copy of it.

Have you seen the sci-fi film Transcendence, starring Johnny Depp? The premise is about transferring a dying professor's mind onto a super computer, who then went on to try destroying the world (he wasn't successful). You can view the trailer here:

At one point in the movie, one of the characters said the real Will (the professor) died a long time ago, suggesting that the super computer intelligence was not actually the mind of the professor, but a copy of it.

This problem with transhumanism that I am describing is perhaps the number one paradox with the subject. For this reason, I don't see this "movement" to transcend humanity, if you can even call it a movement, going anywhere. So you don't need to fret.
