pray that I might be a man of prayer.

I like to think I pray always and never give up, but I have been challenged and it was revealed to me that I am woefully lacking...

Woefully

Oh Lord, I love you! You know my heart and I am sorry that I have failed you! But it is today and as long as I have breath in these lungs I have an opportunity to come boldly before you and ask you... Father, make me a man of prayer. I seek only you! You know all things one very wise man once said, you know I love you. And I need you now more than I have ever even realized I needed you before. Please grant me a heart for prayer. Make me realize that my only place in life is not figuring out where to go and what to do but to seek you. To trust you with all my heart, and not in my own wisdom and understanding. That if I acknowledge you in everything, you WILL direct my paths! Father, grant me a heart that always prays... always prays, and never ever gives up! Please grant me this! Grant all your people this! Amen.

God loves a man who is after His own heart. And it is always His desire to know and to be known by His people. Yes, by all means pray, but also make your life itself an act of prayer so that the two are balanced. Just as the cross itself has both a vertical as well as a horizontal aspect, our lives are to be the same.

Amen, brother!

I myself have dedicated my life solely to prayer. Because of God's mercy, I have enjoyed good progress. You should message me; perhaps we both can work on this thing together. ^-^

May I ask if you have fully consecrated yourself yet? I've found this to be the defining factor. :)
I think by your words that you have- perhaps without realising it yourself.

I'll pray for you, after all, it's great when two ask!

Amen brother, it is my prayer too, put me on that altar too. Grant it Lord, help us in our weakness.

Love the whole post, but especially what you said here...."Make me realize that my only place in life is not figuring out where to go and what to do but to seek you. To trust you with all my heart, and not in my own wisdom and understanding."

Have you guys read of John Hyde, John Welch, and others?

Hyde was known as, "Praying Hyde", and he agonised so much, that his heart actually shifted it's physical position. He didn't care when he found out, and continued in his heavy praying until it took his life. Amazing stuff.

I certainly will, BTS. I have been wanting to get back to a more serious and dedicated prayer life myself lately, including fasting. Only it's just been a while in coming this time around. But prayer is the key to everything in the believer's life, so let me encourage you to stay at it until you get there.

As it happens, I'm about to go to prayer myself in just a second over my own needs and concerns, so I will be sure to pray for you about this too.

I read a lot of Andrew Murray. That man just speaks into my soul like no other mortal has.

Murray! I was reading him earlier. His influence is tangible in your writing. :)

Who else do you like? Say, have you heard of George Muller?

I love Muller too. I think Inread a story about him once that he needed milk for his orphanage and he prayer until a milk truck broke down outside his place. Great... GREAT men and women of God!

Simeon and Anna are some of my favorite NT characters and they only are mentioned in one chapter of Luke. Night and Day in the presence of God with prayer and fasting.

Joshua 3:1-6 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]tim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.

After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits."

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”

Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.” So they took it up and went ahead of them.

I'm afraid I missed what you meant to show me. My bad!

Can you explain?

Oh sorry brother....I was just wondering if that was what you meant by consecration. That's what came to mind when I read your post. Well, anyway it's a good scripture....since they all are. ;) God bless you.

Oh no friend, by full consecration I simply mean a total and complete surrender of oneself to God. :)

God bless you too!

Praying that God grants you wisdom, extraordinary discernment, and clarity, and that He guides your every thought, word, and deed as only He can. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen. (((hug)))
