I have a lot of anxiety and fear about not being saved but don't know how to be saved. I have been afraid of the unpardonable sin (Matthew 12, Mark 3, Luke 12), the mark of the beast (Revelation I don't know what even the number six by itself sets off impulsive thoughts), apostasy and wilful sin/leaving the faith for itching ears (Hebrews 6, Hebrews 10, mentioned in 2 Timothy and 2 Peter I think I do not know where). Also Matthew 7:21 (?) makes me nervous that not all faith and not everyone who calls Lord will be saved. Proverbs 1 also causes anxiety, and the scriptures about, "These people honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me." How can I overcome the fear, and "confirm my calling and election" and be saved and gain assurance?

Edit: Grammar mistake.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you will not know with absolute certainty whether you are going to heaven or hell until the moment that you die.

In the meantime, I suggest that you put your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptized if you have not already, love God, love your neighbor, and obey the Lord's commandments the best that you can, and repent and ask for forgiveness when you do not.

What is the ONE thing made very clear that wars against our soul. ITS SIN.
cease it. IF you feel powerless against it......CRY OUT for HELP .
But your mind is way overthinking it all. Sin beguiles and a double minded man
is unstable in all his ways. JUST start fresh today.
Cease the lust . That is a major part of the problem
and remember fornication is the only sin against the body. Cease . Cease.

It IS fear-mongering no matter how much you deny it. "Believe or you'll be tortured for all eternity". That's fear mongering. That's the idea people have when they have anxiety over their salvation.
Would you say that these are fear mongering:

The Son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers, 42 and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?’ 45 Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’ 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

It's just so frightening. I don't want to be left outside in the dark, I don't want to burn. I am so afraid I messed it up or don't have faith and can't be saved and I'm scared.

Edit: My skin is hot but I feel cold and nauseous. :(

It's fear mongering. Do you think a God who claims to love you would torture you forever? That's the opposite of love. If that's what God does, then God is not love, God is fear.

Thinking like that is damaging and harmful. Being afraid about it is only hurting you.

I am afraid of having already fallen away or never having been saved.

Why don't you believe Jesus saved you? It sounds as if you might need to read more of the Bible. Surely you know whether or not you love God and want to please Him.

1 John 4
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

The Bible is full of reassurance for Christians. Please keep reading it and don't highlight the warnings.

Romans 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Even the struggles we face and the mountains we have to climb are for our good. They make us stronger and more compassionate to others.

Psalm 23
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Satan loves to make us afraid and accuses us of everything he can think of, but God is helping the believers to overcome.

1 John 4
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 5
4 For whatsoever[whosoever] is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Did you spend your childhood in a "hellfire and brimstone church," the kind that tries to scare you into believing? That's especially harmful to children.

Why do you think that is your fate? God loves you and wants you to be a part of his family. If you also want to be a part of his family, then that is what will happen. There is no reason to fear!

I used to be afraid of hell and God even for that matter. But then I started to read the New Testament and found Christ. I had always known God, but the missing link to me was getting to know Jesus. Once I did that, it was like I was transformed. I was no longer afraid. Focus on Jesus and God's mercy and how much He loves you. He knows it's hard down here. That's why he gave us Jesus in first place. You are here seeking comfort and help. You know that means you still have God. When you get doubts, counter them with positive. Jesus loves me. Tell the bad voices to go away and pep talk yourself. You have to try and take control of some of your thoughts too. You have to do some work also. God bless you. I always keep you in my prayers. I hope you find peace in God's love one day.

The unmistakable message all through the New Testament is this: we are saved by believing on Jesus. So rivet your attention on Christ in the gospels — John, Matthew, Mark, Luke — and the whole Bible. Rivet your attention on Christ and say what you see. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9). And say what you feel about this: “I receive him. I love him. He is my God. He is my Lord. He is my treasure.” Confess that. Let yourself hear yourself saying that. Say it to others. Say it to your wife. Say it to your kids. Say it to your friends. “Jesus is my Lord.” The Bible says no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3). So if you say it and mean it, God is at work in your life, you have the Holy Spirit.
How Do I Know I’m Saved? (Ask Pastor John) | Desiring God

This article is also good, but I'm only posting part of it:

The promise: “I will not erase his name from the book of life” does not necessarily imply that some do have their names erased. It simply says, to the one who is in the book, and who conquers in faith: I will never wipe your name out. In other words, being erased is a fearful prospect, which I will not allow to happen to those who persevere. In fact, there are two other passages in Revelation that teach that to have your name in the book of life means that you will most definitely persevere and conquer and thus meet the condition not to be blotted out...

You should know with absolute certainty that you are going to heaven because God has adopted you as his child. Spiritually, you are already in the kingdom of God. He will never throw you out of his family!
26 For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 A man who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

. . .

19 Now the works of the flesh are plain: immorality, impurity, licentiousness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, 21 envy,a]">[a] drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

. . .

Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?’ 45 Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’ 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

. . .

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

. . .

5 This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be made worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering— 6 since indeed God deems it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to grant rest with us to you who are afflicted, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his call, and may fulfil every good resolve and work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

. . .

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who sat upon it; from his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead in them, and all were judged by what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire; 15 and if any one’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

. . .

33 “Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers! how can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. 36 I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter; 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

. . .

You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

. . .

For he will render to every man according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. 11 For God shows no partiality.

12 All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

That's from Hebrews Chapter Six.

But then in verse 9 he says, "But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way." So he does not think that they will actually fall away and be lost. He is hopeful. He believes they will hear his warning and instead of resenting it and saying, "You have no business talking that way to born- again Christians," he believes they will say, "We know how fragile we are in ourselves. Thank you for keeping us alert to the dangers of the deceitfulness of sin, and reminding us to fight the fight of faith every day." He believes that the warnings will not drive them away in resentment, but will deepen their vigilance and earnest pursuit of assurance.

Philippians 1
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 1
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

But those who love God aren't controlled by sin. They repent.

Hebrews 13
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 John 1
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

God has made us new creatures --- that was something we couldn't do for ourselves.

Ephesians 4
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

God is working in us!

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

John 5
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1 John 3
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Romans 8
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

I have to end this here. It's getting late.

When a person believes (and is baptized) he does indeed pass from death into life. Absolutely.

But that doesn't mean he cannot pass back into death again, as the verse that I quoted from Hebrews (and many others) demonstrate.

And the verse I quoted is from Hebrews 10, not Hebrews 6. That moots the argument you made.

And if you study this carefully you should also see how it disproves your theory.

11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. 15 For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 23 And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

You can see St. Paul speak about the gentiles being grafted in to God, but that if they do not continue in his kindness, they too will be cut off, just as the Jews were cut off for their unbelief.

And let's not forget where this deceptive belief that sin does lead to death emanates from:

3 Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Have a nice night.

As odd as it may seem, having occasional doubts about your salvation can be a good indication that the Holy Spirit is working in your life; I say this to encourage the one with doubts, not to encourage doubts themselves. Conversely, such doubts can also be the result of doctrinal misunderstandings or demonic deceptions to shake your faith in the saving work of Christ. The source of the doubts are to be determined by two considerations by which you should examine yourself:

1. The present evidence of Christ’s working in your life, as manifested by growing Christ-likeness (John 15:5-6), and

2. Whether the doubts are motivating you to run in repentance to Christ or warding you away in hopelessness (John 6:37).

If such alarming doubts are from the Holy Spirit’s conviction, they will only arise from prolonged engagement in a carnal (flesh-oriented as opposed to Spirit oriented, Galatians 6:8) life for which there has been no repentance, because the Holy Spirit is warning you to repent to Christ in some area of your life. This should motivate you in righteous fear to run in repentance towards Christ. If after examining yourself honestly you find yourself spiritually stagnant, you need to honour the Holy Spirit’s grace, determine what is preventing your growth in Christ, and repent. Jesus said all who come to Him He will never drive away (John 6:37), and no one can snatch us from His hand (John 10:28-29). So you should not be anxious from a lack of assurance of God’s love or the efficacy of Christ’s sacrifice for your justification, which is evidence of ignorance or satanic deceptions, but only on account of continual unrepentant sin. Remember, while good works cannot save, they are the evidence of genuine salvation. Regarding securing the authenticity of our salvation, Paul wrote in Philippians 2:12-13:

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose." Concerning the Holy Spirit's conviction, he wrote in Ephesians 4:30-32: "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Again, concerning the severe nature of ignoring Christ’s purpose of making you holy, Paul sternly warns: “How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?” (Hebrews 10:29)

It can't be emphasized enough that Christ is the one who saves you from condemnation, not you with your works; righteousness cannot be gained by obedience to the law (Galatians 2:21, Romans 3:20). However, obedience to God is the consequence of a genuine salvation, for anyone who accepts Christ is freed from the power of sin and continues to bear fruits of righteousness. Jesus declared, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned (John 15:5-6)."

Salvation does not result from works (Ephesians 2:8-9) but works do result from salvation (Ephesians 2:10). When God saves us, He saves us for His glory and to enjoy His glory forever. It is to God's glory to demonstrate His perfectly holy nature in both His perfect righteousness and His perfect love. The power of God is going to be revealed in your life in one of these ways, and it is your choice which way that will be. But if you have sincerely chosen Christ, the only way of salvation to the Father, the power of God's love will become increasingly manifest in your life; this will happen (Ezekiel 36:25-27). Sometimes you may fall, and sometimes you may regress, but you will always recover, repent and return to the way, the truth and the life, and your life in Him will increase abundantly (John 10:10). Then, when you are already in or have restored yourself in repentance to the obedience of Christ, you should no longer have any fear:

"But if anyone obeys His word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:5-6)" John continues, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18)." The Scriptures summarize these truths in 1 John 3:5-10:

"But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin. No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness...My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One (1 John 1:8-9, 2:1)."

If you sin, repent to Jesus Christ and you will have God's forgiveness. If you stumble many times in a day, Christ will continue to offer you forgiveness through the justification that He provided. But do not be deceived; forgiveness and patience are for leading you to repentance (Romans 2:4), not accommodating sin. If Christ remains in you, you are already sinning more than you want to right now, and so will not find abandoning further sin to be an enduring burden.

I have a lot of anxiety and fear about not being saved but don't know how to be saved.

To become saved you must repent and believe in Jesus just as He told us in Mark 1:15: "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Repenting is turning away from sin and turning to God for forgiveness.

Believing is putting your trust in Jesus, committing your ways to Him.

When you repent and put your trust in Jesus, He will send the Holy Spirit to live within you. The Spirit guides us to do what is right. When we sin in some way, the Spirit will convict us (make us feel guilty) and, when that happens, we need to confess that sin for forgiveness just as 1 John 1:9 tells us.

If you are worried about your salvation you can be sure that you have not committed the unforgivable sin because when that happens the Spirit will no longer convict you of sin.

You need to read the Bible; do what it says; go to a good church that teaches you how to trust Jesus and have a holy walk with Him.

God bless,
Mick

I have a lot of anxiety and fear about not being saved but don't know how to be saved.

Get your Bible and highlight all the verses/an or journal them:
Romans 10:9-10
Ephesians 2:8-9
John 3:16
Hebrews 7:25

I have been afraid of the unpardonable sin (Matthew 12, Mark 3, Luke 12),

The unpardonable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit...which is what the pharisees
did here: Mark 3: 22-30, Matthew 12:22-32...they were saying Jesus was empowered by satan/and or attributed the work of the Holy Spirit to being
from the devil.
It is the Holy Spirit that empowered Jesus to do miracles on the earth...the pharisees continual rejection of Jesus as Messiah lead them to seek to have
him put to death.
The Bible shows that those pharisees didn't believe Jesus, they rejected him
and his miracles on a continual basis...it's totally sad because they witnessed
those miracles themselves and deemed them as evil and or being the work of
the devil.
Jesus spoke more on the subject here: Mark 3:23-29.

the mark of the beast
During the tribulation...
Those who worship the beast and the anti-christ are the ones
who get the mark...Revelation 14:9-10,
Also note, those who worship God, they will receive a seal
from God on their foreheads...Revelation 7:1-10, Revelation 9:4.

(Revelation I don't know what even the number six by itself sets off impulsive thoughts),

The number 6 symbolizes man/man was created on the sixth day: Genesis 1:26.
Man is to work 6 days and is to rest on the seventh day...Exodus 34:21
There are 6 cities of refuge in the Bible...Numbers 35:6
Number 6 can also represent imperfection.
And of course the triple 6(666) which is the number of the beast in...
Revelation 13:18

apostasy and wilful sin/leaving the faith for itching ears (Hebrews 6, Hebrews 10, mentioned in 2 Timothy and 2 Peter I think I do not know where).

2 Timothy 4:1-5
"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Our reply and stance is to be that of: 2 Corinthians 4:2
"But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways.
We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God."

Also Matthew 7:21 (?) makes me nervous that not all faith and not everyone who calls Lord will be saved.

There are pretenders whether they be of the religious persuasion or of the secular.
Kind of reminds me of impersonators...people who go around pretending
to be: Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Rod Stewart etc many of them are really good but
they ain't the "Real McCoy".
A lot of people want attention, fame, money, praise from man, don't matter if
the person be in church or not.

Proverbs 1 also causes anxiety, and the scriptures about, "These people honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me."

Matthew 15:8
..."These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me."
Jesus is talking about the ones holding to vain teachings and to man-made traditions/ regulations as to though they were the very commandments of God...take a closer look at that here: Colossians 2:21-23
"Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”?
These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.
Such restrictions indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-prescribed worship, their false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body; but they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh."

How can I overcome the fear, and "confirm my calling and election" and be saved and gain assurance?

Into the Bible...make notes/ memorize, renew your mind on truth and put into practice...
1 John 2: 23-25
1 John 4:15
Acts 16:31
Colossians 3:12-17
Micah 6:8

Edit: Grammar mistake.

Matthew 7:21...Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

That's right, no pretenders going to enter the kingdom of heaven...only those
who obey the God's Word.
the Lord said here: Luke 6:46
"Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I say?"

The key is being obedient to His Word/doing what it says.

I understand you now. I would like diagnosis but kind of fear actually going to a psychologist.

Christians love you --- be assured of that. Life is hard and we want to encourage each other!
