JN 17 - The High-Priestly Prayer of Jesus, prays that "they all may be one." Setting the desire and intention of Christ aside, so many of His "followers" reject the notion of One visible, institutional Church accusing it of being not "of Jesus" but of the evil one! They accuse His teaching as being not of His Heart, but a lie of satan, a seduction of Jezebel.

No, His will and intention has not changed. Man continues to edit and improve His will by fitting it to his own darkened intellect and misguided desires.

The High Priest Jesus Christ prays in the Heavenly Holy of Holies to the Father and says.....

That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (John 17:21)

I fully agree and bless what the Lord has to say to his Church. However the unbelieving world is not to be prayed to, so to be one with the body of Christ.

We are all to be one in Christ and through Christ.

We are NOT to be one with the world and without Christ.

As soon as a mainstream religious institution mingles itself with the world, to be one with the world and the kings of the world, then it reverts to being Jezebel, within a scriptural Babylonian construct.

Interfaith ecumenism by design is a Babylonian construct. John calls it mystery Babylon, because it was by design and not in his time so as to be familiar with, hence he called it mystery Babylon because it was mysterious to him.

Where mainstream Christainity is heading towards, is towards one world unity of religions. So I would have to agree with you, that....

Man continues to edit and improve His will by fitting it to his own darkened intellect and misguided desires.

You hit the nail on the coffin, ecumenical Interfaith movement is nothing more than just a darkened intellect and misguided desires by design of the strongly deluded.

Jesus has always being very strict with the Old Testament Jewish Church and the New Covenant Gentile Church, that if it strays to be one with the world, then it is labelled by him as Jezebel, within a Babylonian construct. John knew this, many good hearted Christians within denominations know this and I know this.

Here is the link to a movement towards unity with the world and without Christ, a stepping stone towards apostasy.....

Please watch and learn, you have eyes to see and ears to hear.....

When we scrutinise the efforts being made by men in ecclesiastical positions to give rise to the Babylonian one world geopolitical religious system, we can known the following......

Purgatory and Unitarian Universalism doctrine go hand in hand as the flavour of the day, because no longer is Jesus Christ the way to the Father, that is, according to the Universalist all are saved regardless of the blood of Christ. Unitarians Universalists will say that Christ bled for all regardless of faith, then you can basically wipe out Christainity and what the father's of faith believed, for the last 2000 years.

In these last days, we are witnessing the vain efforts of the hierarchy of denominational churches, having darkened intellect and misguided desires for world peace, to embrace the Antichrist, when he comes in the name of world peace to save the day for them, after some chaos by design.

Maybe, just maybe, God will allow them to believe that they are achieving this and will embrace the Antichrist godlike figure, only to find out that God wanted them as enemies of the cross, so that he can dispose of them quickly.

Some will say, how can God allow them to continue in Strong Delusion, so that they can be his enemies, in order for Him to quickly dispose of them?

Well said, I say... because Paul certainly thought the same.....

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

Paul is pointing to HIM as the Antichrist godlike figure and to THEM as the hierarchy of the denominational churchs who become their own decievers, due to their own unrighteousness and inability to discern the truth of Christ, rather they continued in their Strong Delusion of a one world peace agenda by serving the lie, so that they will be damned.

Note, that Paul's entire context above is in regards to the great falling away from the faith. Obviously this would be initiated at the latter times, before the brilliant coming of the Lord, by none other than the church hierarchy.

Purgatory is a doctrine that plays right into the doctrine of Unitarian Universalist salvation, because no longer do people living in our realm are required to show evidence of their faith, rather they within their own pious antithesis religions can be saved by indirectly worshipping the one true God according to Universalists and interfaith ecumenists, through their many gods and deities other than Jesus Christ.

The above is well accepted by those who have attended the interfaith gathering at Assizi. Again I post the link to the YouTube video below, for everyone to discern that where we are today is by design and not as a result of a threat from climate change or world peace, but rather in the 80s all were asleep and these Church hierarchy leaders were making their bed with one another in an orgy fest of apostasy.

Please watch the clip and see and hear the sounds of the orgy fest of apostasy, going back from 1986.

People ought to understand the mind of God, because in THE TIMES we are living in, we have to distance ourselves from the world, rather than embrace it, so that we may not be condemned along with it.

Did you know that God wants THEM to deceive one another, so to establish a global one world religious system under the headship of the godlike antichrist figure, so that they really would feel that they have achieved this all by themselves. Then once they are saying peace and safety and celebrating their new found Luceferean one world religious system under the headship of the Antichrist, then God wages a war against them that is so desisive, merciless, completely and utterly over and above what is required to destroy his Son's enemies to the point of God's response being INFINITY as to one in number by his enemies, in measure. He will destroy marvellously without any recourse to the overmeasure of devastation as compared to the force the enemy used to get its way. A total and utter unmeasured response that is a complete overkill and this is how it will go down.

Pick your sides people. You are either with Jesus Christ or the world. Don't take part in the sins of the world and pretend that peace can be given by humans who don't own peace in the first place.

Peace is only granted by the Prince of Peace Christ Jesus. Only Jesus Christ owns peace and we only ask him in prayer and supplication for His peace.

29I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. (John 14:29-31)

Daniel prophesied of Jerusalem being built up for the coming of Messiah Jesus the Christ. The Jerusalem built up today is for the other guy. ;)

Pray until God answers, trusting in Jesus.
Pergatery is not at all real - it is complete deception,
and there is a lot more deception as well -- remember Jesus says there are many false teachers, and false prophets, and false gospels,
not many true.
Read His Word - that is the only standard we can be sure of.
Man's traditions have sent billions of souls to judgment,
and ruined many multitudes of souls.

For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble each mans work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any mans work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire (1 Cor. 3:11-15).

Another Catholic writes:

The passage is quite clear: Gold and silver, when placed into a furnace, would be purified; wood and hay would be burned away. As this is done, Scripture says we will suffer loss, but be saved as through fire. The image of purgatory was becoming more vivid as I read. What else could St. Paul be referring to? He cant be referring to hell, because its clear that the people who undergo this purifying fire will be saved, while those who are in hell are lost forever. And yet he cant be referring to heaven, because he mentions the suffering of loss, while in heaven every tear will be wiped away (cf. Rev. 21:4).

Scripture teaches that God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29). The point St. Paul seems to make is that, as God draws us to Himself after death, there is a process of purification in the fire of Gods holy presence. God Himself purifies us of those imperfect deeds: the wood, hay, and stubble. And those works that are performed in faithfulness and obedience to Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, those of gold and silver, are purified. This purification is necessary because, as Scripture teaches of heaven the new Jerusalem and the temple within it, Nothing unclean shall enter it (Rev. 21:27). The biblical images of the purifying fire, through which the believer is saved while suffering loss, were now beginning to sound more and more like purgatory.

But where is the word purgatory? I began to see that this question revealed an ignorance on my part. The Scriptures were written in Hebrew and Greek. Purgatory comes from the Latin word purgatorium. In Scripture, we do find references to an afterlife that is neither the hell of the damned nor heaven. In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word sheol is used to describe this condition; in the New Testament, the Greek term is hades. I had always thought that hades was hell, but Scripture teaches very clearly that hades is not hell; it is distinct from gehenna, or the lake of fire which is the hell of the damned. In fact, the Book of Revelation describes how, at the end of time, death and hades are thrown into hell (gehenna). This is the second death, the lake of fire. Scripture teaches that at the end of time, there is no more death; and once the purification of all souls has taken place, there is no more need for hades. This same concept of sheol (in Hebrew), hades (in Greek), and purgatorium (in Latin) is purgatory as we have come to know it today (cf. Catechism, nos. 1030-32).

The major objection to purgatory is that somehow it undermines the finished work of Christ. Is Christ's death sufficient? Of course it is! It is sufficient to win our redemption and to allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify us. The work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, however, is the work of purification and sanctification. It is the application of the divine life won by Christ. Purgatory in no way should be viewed as a second chance, by which those who did not believe in and follow Christ can somehow suffer their way into heaven, despite their rejection of the Christian life. Jesus is clear that those who refuse to follow Him are guilty: [H]e who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God (Jn. 3:18). Spiritual purification is possible only for those who have been reconciled to God in this life (cf. 2 Cor. 5:18-20).

The concept of purification after death dates back to the Jews of pre-Christian times. Evidence of this can be seen in the Second Book of Maccabees. Catholics will quickly cite this as scriptural evidence for the reality of purgatory, but we must remember that Protestants do not accept 2 Maccabees as scriptural. Nevertheless, objective readers will have to note that, even if the seven books of the Old Testament accepted by Catholics and rejected by Protestants are not biblical, they are godly writings and worthy of our consideration. In 2 Maccabees, following a battle, the faithful Jews found out that their fallen comrades each carried with them sacred tokens of idols, which the law forbade the Jews to wear:

[T]hey turned to prayer, beseeching that the sin which had been committed might be wholly blotted out. And the noble Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen. He also took up a collection, man by man, to the amount of two thousand drachmas of silver, and sent it to Jerusalem to provide for a sin offering (2 Mac. 12:42-43).

The sacred text notes that this was an honorable deed, and the passage closes with the statement, Therefore he made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin (2 Mac. 12:45).

What is striking about this passage is not what it asserts, but what it takes for granted. This episode is not told in an apologetic style, as if to prove that prayer for the dead was a pious act, but rather assumes it. Moreover, once the Catholic Church is accepted as the Church that Christ founded, and thus as the Church that defines the canon of Scripture, the teaching in Maccabees takes on greater weight as inspired Scripture (cf. 2 Tim. 3:16).

What is clear and undeniable is the solidarity the early Christians felt with the deceased. Many ancient Christian monuments call out for prayer. For example, the epitaph of a bishop named Abercius, composed toward the end of the second century, provides: Standing by, I, Abercius, ordered this to be inscribed; truly, I was in my seventy-second year. May everyone who is in accord with this and who understands it pray for Abercius. This practice of prayer for the deceased predates a fully developed defense of this practice, which was provided at the ecumenical councils of Lyons II (1274), Florence (1439-45), and Trent (1545-63).

As I began reading the Church Fathers, I was struck not only by the confidence of these holy men and the reality of the purifying fire (cf. 1 Cor. 3:15), but also by how deeply the teaching was rooted in the apostolic Tradition. The historic evidence clearly pointed to a belief in a state of purification that would later be called purgatory. This term corresponded to the Hebrew concept of sheol, and to the Greek term hades in the New Testament. This third and temporary state of purification is biblical, apostolic, historical and, most of all, true and completely reconcilable with the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospels.

The doctrine of purgatory is completely reconcilable with a loving God who is a consuming fire. As we are drawn up into His love, into His very divine life Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we begin to burn with that same divine fire, and those impurities to which we have clung in this life must be burned away. This will inevitably involve suffering, as we let go of those imperfect things to which we are attached.

The hidden mystery behind the teaching of purgatory is our calling to live in God for all eternity, which requires us to give perfectly of ourselves (cf. Mt. 5:48)

More Extracts of Catholic writings in relation to Purgatory

All who die in God’s grace, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven (1030).

This seems so simple. Its common sense. Scripture is very clear when it says, "But nothing unclean shall enter [heaven]" (Rev. 21:27). Hab. 1:13 says, "You [God]... are of purer eyes than to behold evil and cannot look on wrong..." How many of us will be perfectly sanctified at the time of our deaths? I dare say most of us will be in need of further purification in order to enter the gates of heaven after we die, if, please God, we die in a state of grace.

In Matthew 5:24-25, Jesus is even more explicit about Purgatory.

Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison; truly I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny (Matthew 5:25-26).

For Catholics, Tertullian for example, in De Anima 58, written in ca. AD 208, this teaching is parabolic, using the well-known example of “prison” and the necessary penitence it represents, as a metaphor for Purgatorial suffering that will be required for lesser transgressions, represented by the “kodrantes” or “penny” of verse 26. But for many Protestants, our Lord is here giving simple instructions to his followers concerning this life exclusively. This has nothing to do with Purgatory.

This traditional Protestant interpretation is very weak contextually. These verses are found in the midst of the famous “Sermon on the Mount,” where our Lord teaches about heaven (vs. 20), hell (vs. 29-30), and both mortal (vs. 22) and venial sins (vs. 19), in a context that presents “the Kingdom of Heaven” as the ultimate goal (see verses 3-12). Our Lord goes on to say if you do not love your enemies, “what reward have you” (verse 46)? And he makes very clear these “rewards” are not of this world. They are “rewards from your Father who is in heaven” (6:1) or “treasures in heaven” (6:19).

Further, as St. John points out in John 20:31, all Scripture is written “that believing, you may have [eternal] life in his name.” Scripture must always be viewed in the context of our full realization of the divine life in the world to come. Our present life is presented “as a vapor which appears for a little while, and afterwards shall vanish away” (James 1:17). It would seem odd to see the deeper and even “other worldly” emphasis throughout the Sermon of the Mount, excepting these two verses.

When we add to this the fact that the Greek word for prison, phulake, is the same word used by St. Peter, in I Peter 3:19, to describe the “holding place” into which Jesus descended after his death to liberate the detained spirits of Old Testament believers, the Catholic position makes even more sense.Phulake is demonstrably used in the New Testament to refer to a temporary holding place and not exclusively in this life.

Then God our Heavenly Father sent down His only Begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ our "Merciful Saviour" for those whom turn to Jesus Christ from hearts open to receive Him into hearts through Repentance of sins made to Jesus.

"Repent and believe in The Good News"

The sins loosed on earth are loosed in Heaven

Jesus explained to His Disciples that they were to loose sins in His Name.

The sins forgiven through His Disciples/His Priests are the sins forgiven in His Name.

To date.

Therefore without repentance of sins made to Jesus through His Priests (and this occurred in the early days with God telling His Priests and Prophets before Jesus descended to earth from Heaven) that people were to offer Blood sacrifices to Him through His Priests and Prophets.

All repentance from the beginning to date until Jesus appears for the last time is to be done through His Priests and Ministers.

With Jesus Present Manifested in The Confessionals giving Absolution hidden behind His Priests just as God our Heavenly Father was Present in the early days in His Holy of Holies speaking to His Priests and Prophets guiding them.

And receiving our Lords Blessed Holy Sacred Sacraments one of which is Jesus "Himself" Physically and Spiritually all relates to Soul salvation and Holy Purgatory.

Because it is through Jesus Himself with The Holy Spirit and through our Blessed Virgin Mother Marys Loving Holy Intercession of which we can be saved to even make Purgatory saved from going to Hell.

And common sense must prevail.

God our Heavenly Father allowed Jesus to descend from Heaven to Earth to suffer His Bitter Passion in order to bring Mercy for soul salvation for those whom turn to Jesus and go through Jesus Himself, are loving and grateful to Jesus, and whom do as Jesus has requested in everything Jesus has taught of which include:

Praying to Jesus and The Holy Spirit and through God our Heavenly Father and through Jesus Mercy we have been Gifted with Gods Blessed Virgin Mother Mary as Loving Holy Intercessory - hearts and souls would do well to pray to Jesus, God, Holy Spirit and to our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary of Whom leads hearts and souls back to Jesus, receiving Jesus into their hearts with The Holy Spirit every time! It is Mother Mary of Whom has been doing this for centuries in Her Love and Humility through God our Heavenly Father, Jesus God Holy Spirit.

It is Holy Mother Mary of Whom tends the Holy Souls in Purgatory bringing them Holy Refreshments and bestowing Holy Graces to those suffering long years and dreadfully in Holy Purgatory through the Prayers of Catholics and Christians praying for The Holy Souls in Purgatory. God Gifted Himself The Most Holy Rosary to be prayed and for The Holy Souls in Purgatory with Jesus appearing to Saint Dominic in 1214 and 1216 and The Old Psalter was prayed by Mother Mary and The Hebrews prior to The Most Holy Rosary of which is all of The Holy Mysteries Gods Holy Word contained within it and The Holy Sacred Fruits of The Mysteries in The Most Holy Rosary. This is from Gods Holy Word Jesus' and Mother Marys' Life in Holiness from God Himself.

God our Heavenly Father said that "it is the greatest weapon against satan" and "mans last mean/s of Salvation" with Jesus encouraging hearts to pray The Most Holy Rosary through God to overcome everything. By focussing on Jesus' Sorrowful Mysteries, His Bitter Passion, we are, if wanting this, to receive Jesus into our hearts with The Holy Spirit more profoundly, receiving our Lord in Holy Communion with many things instantaneously explained through Holy Spirit, shown by Jesus and The Holy Spirit and Holy Mother Mary.

The reasons some people do not wish to pray The Most Holy Rosary is because it contains The Catholic Creed of which Jesus God and The Holy Spirit delivered to many of Gods Holy Saints from Jesus Himself.

Many many Holy Mysteries are shown while praying The Most Holy Rosary entering into The Holy Heavenly Realm with nothing but Love and Peace and Surrender to Jesus Holy Sacred Heart becoming one in Him with The Holy Spirit through Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

Sacrifice and time are essential to receiving Jesus into hearts communicating with hearts and its a sad disappointment that people have the denominational block, views and rigidness to focus on Jesus Bitter Passion entering more deeply into our Lord Jesus Sacred Heart and Bitter Passion suffered with love flowing through our hearts more deeply than imaginable in Holy communication.

Give to our Lord Jesus from hearts sacrificing all time and leisure focussing on Jesus Sorrowful Mysteries and nothing matters in the this life anymore and be rest assured the love, time and gratitude given to our Lord Jesus visiting Him in His Blessed Holy Sacrament, praying to Him in The Most Holy Rosary or His Divine Mercy Chaplet or Novena that Jesus Himself delivered and or His Holy Wound Chaplet, increases soul salvation because Jesus Himself said that whoever prays to Him, the prayers He has delivered to mankind, He takes into the abode of His Most Compassionate Heart and stands between God our Heavenly Father with Holy Spirit and the dying person for His Mercy given.

There are Jesus, God our Heavenly Father's Holy Promises attached to each of our Lord Jesus Holy Prayers prayed to God our Heavenly Father with The Holy Spirit and to our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

I have received so many of Gods Holy Promises yet much much more too lengthy to go into detail. Many people Blessed by Jesus Holy Spirit and Mother Mary through and by God our Heavenly Father within Jesus Divine Mercy Chaplet prayed, Holy Wound Chaplet and The Most Holy Rosary have received Gods Loving Holy Blessings Gifts and Graces and instantaneously for every person prayed for in honesty. This is for soul salvation most importantly and Jesus explained this to all of His Saints.

It is very sad people are suffering when they only need pray to Jesus God and The Holy Spirit one of these three Holy Prayers delivered by Jesus Himself with The Holy Spirit with our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary in Holy accompaniment.

So if we die having not been made 100% like him - that is, our passions not being completely eradicated and there still being parts of that "old man of sin" which St. Paul speaks of in his epistles, then what happens?

Do we just go on into the presence of God anyway? Please tell me what happens.

Yes. That is what happens. That's what salvation is all about--being forgiven. It's written all over the New Testament.

“It is a holy and wholesome thing to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from their sins.” (II Macab. XII., 46)
That sentence, if taken literally, would "prove" that you can pray souls out of Hell. Is that what you want to argue for?

If not, you can't claim that it refers to a Purgatory, most of whose inhabitants are there paying not for their sins but for ones already forgiven. That, at any rate, is what the church that invented Purgatory says goes on there.

I pray for the following Albion and it is our Lord Jesus in His Holy Will within His Divine Mercy and Holy Mysteries if my Blessed Holy Sacred Heart saves these souls and i say this not to boast - this is posted for others to encourage them to pray more regularly for The Holy Souls in Purgatory, for the sick and dying souls, for souls on their way to eternal damnation, for souls awaiting Judgement by God without receiving Jesus Mercy, (and we can immerse these souls in Jesus Abyss of Mercy and His Holy Sacred Wounds daily) before praying our prayers to Jesus, God The Holy Spirit and our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

For all souls on their way to eternal damnation - offering up the sufferings of Gods animals and creatures while praying for Gods animals and creatures against abuses and sufferings. Offering up past penances and the humility involving past Penances for all souls on their way to eternal damnation and anything at all if one thing, pleasing to Jesus, Holy Spirit and to Mother Mary.

For the sick and dying and/or injured souls

For souls awaiting Gods Judgement particularly those of whom are not going to receive Jesus Mercy; imploring Jesus for His Mercy for them immersing their souls in Jesus Abyss of Mercy and Blessed Holy Sacred Wounds and then immersing these souls in our Blessed Virgin Mother Marys Holy Immaculate Heart for Holy Mother Mary's Virginal Mantle covering and protecting them against hell and satan.

Offerings are made as Jesus has requested of His Hundreds of Saints to Jesus to choose if anything is at all pleasing to Him, after i have Beseeched God our Heavenly Father on The Strength of our Lord Jesus Bitter Passion suffered, endured and conquered.

In my love of our Lord Jesus'Glorious Holy Sacred Wounds and Precious Holy Sacred Blood shed for God our Heavenly Father and mankind.

Jesus/Gods Holy Prayer delivered by Jesus to Saint Gertrude prayed for The Holy Souls in Purgatory and for many other souls salvation.

For souls awaiting Judgement floating about for the 7 day Period until God our Heavenly Fathers Judgement and/or longer in God's Holy Will. We have limited time to pray for our relatives, friends or acquaintances soul salvation and this should be done with or without offerings however preferably Holy Catholic Masses offered up for souls urgently prior to Jesus, God, The Holy Spirits Holy Judgement in order for souls to be given the opportunity to receive our Lord Jesus Divine Mercy and not be lost to Jesus, God and The Holy Spirit. Our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary implores Jesus for Holy Divine Favours for many many souls and prays with Gods Holy Angels, Holy Saints, Holy Martyrs, Holy Souls in Heaven for many souls of whom are saved through Jesus Mercy and Gods Holy Graces to our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary His Holy Favoured Daughter and Holy Mother of God.

There are many Souls after this prayed for daily yet am too tired to post.

Therefore those whom have Blasphemed or Profaned our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary should really get down on bended knee and apologise humbly sorrowfully and genuinely to Jesus Christ our Merciful Saviour for Blaspheming God our Heavenly Fathers Most Humble, Loving, Obedient, Favoured Holy Daughter, The Holy Queen of Heaven and Mercy...for those of whom have turned to our Lord Jesus and not hurt or Blasphemed His Most Adored and Loved Holy Mother.

Is some sort of Intermediate State real? I would say probably so, at least for some people. However, I would not call it Purgatory, as the word has some really bad connotations connected to it, such as "burning", etc. The bottom line is that we really do not know. I like the Eastern Orthodox way of thinking. Our prayers can assist the deceased , but how it helps them, we cannot say. Such has not been revealed to us. Perhaps our prayers just ease their burdens somewhat? Perhaps our prayers do give them a final chance at salvation? We simply do not know. What we can say is that the practice of praying for the dead is an ancient Christian one, apparently going back to the early days of the Church.

God our Heavenly Father and Creator has His Holy Fire of Love and has His Holy Fire of Cleansing and has His Holy Fire of Wrath and this is directly reflected in His Holy Word. Many of God our Heavenly Fathers Holy Saints attested to this description and i can post these for you Basil if you wish.

So much so, that when God our Heavenly Father spoke to Moses, He told them not to go near Him or they would die. When Moses and other Priests and Prophets saw God our Heavenly Father's Holy Cloud enveloping Him, they saw Holy Fire in His Holy Cloud. Holy Fire used for different Holy Purposes of God our Heavenly Father's.

All of the Saints each Century of whom have seen Holy Purgatory describe it as the worst place apart from Hell indescribable sufferings of the poor Holy Souls in Purgatory whom cannot escape their punishments save people here praying for them, offering up Holy Masses for them, offering up Prayers and sacrifices for them, doing kind deeds for our Lord Jesus for them, offering up our Penances after Holy Confession from our Hearts to Jesus in Humility, for the Holy Souls in Purgatory to exit Purgatory more quickly. Jesus has delivered Himself to His Saints many Holy Prayers of God our Heavenly Fathers for the Holy Souls in Purgatory for Catholics and Christians to pray.

One of which is the following;

PRAYERS FOR SOULS IN PURGATORY
xSt.-Gertrude2.jpg.pagespeed.ic.Bwj_4PbPIk.jpg

Have you lost a loved one who passed away, or know someone who has? Prayers for souls in purgatory can help them! While we can derive great comfort from the hope that our loved ones are enjoying Eternal Life with God, it never hurts to pray for their souls in any case.

In purgatory, the souls of many of those who have died in God’s grace undergo purification so that they may enter heaven.

The Prayer of St. Gertrude, below, is one of the most famous of the prayers for souls in purgatory. St. Gertrude the Great (pictured at left) was a Benedictine nun and mystic who lived in the 13th century. According to tradition, our Lord promised her that 1000 souls would be released from purgatory each time it is said devoutly.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Many of the Fathers of the Church, such as St. Augustine and St. John Chrysostom, considered prayers for souls in purgatory to be essential. The church has endorsed the doctrine of purgatory from the Councils of Florence and Trent in the 15th and 16th centuries right up through Vatican II in the 1960’s.

The most famous scriptural reference, among others, concerning these prayers comes from the Old Testament where it is called “a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins” (2 Macabees 12:46).

Another Holy Prayer that Jesus Himself delivered to His Saints:

jesusitrustinyou.JPG

My daughter, tell souls that I am giving them My mercy as a defense. I Myself am fighting for them and am bearing the just anger of My Father (Diary, 1516).

St. Catherine of Siena to Blessed Raymond Capua: "I saw the pains of Hell and of Purgatory, [which are] so great that no tongue of man is able to declare them. I saw also the bliss of Heaven and the glory of my Divine Spouse, which only to think of fills my soul with a loathing for all things that are in the world." (The 33 Doctors of the Church, p. 403)

SAINT JOHN MASSIAS, {MACIAS}

Born: 2 March 1585 at Ribera del Fresno, Estramadura, Spain
Died: 17 September 1645 in Lima, Peru of natural causes
Beatified: 1837 by Pope Pius VII
Canonized: 1975 by Pope Paul VI
Memorial: 18 September

Saint John Massias, known as the "Helper of the Poor Souls", offered three rosaries every night for the souls in Purgatory, praying for them on his knees despite bodily fatigue. Saint John also sprinkled holy water on the ground several times a day for their relief. He also offered hundreds of short ejaculations ("sudden short exclamations, especially brief pious utterances or prayers") as he went around his regular work, applying the merit of these little prayers to the Holy Souls. Not a day passed that St. John didn't unite himself with the priest at the altar begging the Heavenly Father to grant all the souls eternal rest through the merits of Christ's death on Calvary.

The Holy Souls often appeared to him begging his powerful intercession, "Give us prayers", they cried with one voice. "Oh brother John, you are the friend of the poor and sick! Be our friend too! Help make us worthy to be with God and His Blessed ones."

- St. John Massias by Mary Fabyan Windeatt, page 89, 1972, Tan Books, Rockford IL,

SAINT NICHOLAS OF TOLENTINO

Born: 1245 at Sant' Angelo, March of Ancona, diocese of Fermo
Died: 10 September 1305 at Tolentino, Italy following a long illness
Canonized: 5 June (Pentecost) 1446 by Pope Eugene IV; over 300 miracles recognized
Memorial: 10 September

Saint Nicholas had a powerful intercession for those who had died. Two of many episodes which show his intercessory power for the Holy Souls in Purgatory follow:

On a certain Saturday night while he lay in bed, St. Nicholas heard the voice of someone, a deceased friar who St. Nicholas had known. The friar revealed that he was in Purgatory and begged Nicholas to offer Mass for him and many other suffering souls so that they might be set free from their sorrows. Nicholas offered the Mass for them, with permission, all that week. At the end of that week his friend Friar Pellegrino appeared to him once again with gratitude for the great favor he had done and the assurance that a great number of the persons he had seen were now enjoying the presence of God.

On another day, St. Nicholas was in Church lighting a lamp before the Blessed Sacrament. A loud voice suddenly called to him. Nicholas was startled. Thinking it was the devil who wished to tempt him as he so often did, instead, it was his own blood brother, Gentile, who had died two weeks previously and now was informing him that a great miracle had occurred: The greatest of all miracles. The salvation of his soul. "Do not doubt, Nicholas, I am your brother, Gentile. Your prayers and your acts of penance have saved my soul from certain damnation."

SAINT CATHERINE OF GENOA

Born: In Genoa, Italy in 1447
Died: 15 September 1510 at Genoa, Italy
Beatified: 1675 by Pope Clement X
Canonized: 1737 by Pope Clement XII
Memorial: 15 September

The Heavenly Father gave Saint Catherine some of the most extraordinary operations in her soul. This condition started when she was about twenty-six years old and lasted until her death. In this state, she received wonderful revelations of which at times she spoke to those around her. Many of her extraordinary experiences and revelations where about Purgatory with many of them being written down in one of her two most celebrated works, "Treatise on Purgatory". Some extracts from the book follow:

"There is no place to be compared with than of the souls in Purgatory, { save | except } that of the Saints in Paradise, and this peace is ever augmented by the flowing of God into these souls, which increases in proportion as the impediments to it are removed. The rust of sin is the impediment, and this the fire continually consumes, so that the soul in this state is continually opening itself to admit the divine communication"

- Treatise on Purgatory (Chapter 2, page 301)

"It is true that the Divine love which overwhelms the soul gives, as I think, a peace greater than that which can be expressed, yet this peace does not in the least diminish her pains, nay, it is love delayed which occasions them, and they are greater in proportion to the perfection of the love of which God has made her capable."

- Treatise on Purgatory (Chapter 12, page 318)

"So hidden and transformed in God are they, that they rest content with all His holy will. And if a soul, retaining the slightest stain, were to draw near to God in the beatific vision, it would be to hear a mere grievous injury, and inflict more suffering, than Purgatory itself."

- Treatise on Purgatory (Chapter 14, page 321)

Purgatory

"And the day following Judas [Machabeus] came with his company, to take away the bodies of them that were slain, and to bury them with their kinsmen, in the sepulchres of their fathers. And they found under the coats of the slain some of the donaries of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbiddeth to the Jews: So that all plainly saw, that for this cause they were slain. Then they all blessed the just judgment of the Lord, who had discovered the things that were hidden. And so betaking themselves to prayers, they besought Him, that the sin which had been committed might be forgotten. But the most valiant Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves from sin, forasmuch as they saw before their eyes what had happened, because of the sins of those that were slain. And making a gathering, he sent twelve thousand drachms of silver to Jerusalem for sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the dead, thinking well and religiously concerning the resurrection, (for if he had not hoped that they that were slain should rise again, it would have seemed superfluous and vain to pray for the dead), and because he considered that they who had fallen asleep with godliness, had great grace laid up for them. It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins." (2 Machabees 12:39-46)
  1. What is Purgatory? A place and state of temporary punishment in the next world. Hell, on the other hand, is a place of eternal or everlasting punishment.

  2. What does the word "Purgatory" mean? It means "cleansing" (or "purging"). Purgatory is a place where the soul is cleansed of unforgiven venial sin and/or the "debt" of sins already forgiven but not yet made up for.

"If any one abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up, and cast him into the fire, and he burneth." (John 15:6)

  3. How do you know there is a Purgatory? The constant teaching and practice of the Catholic Church, based on the Bible and tradition, and even common sense, prove the existence of Purgatory.

  4. How does common sense indicate the existence of Purgatory? Only people with mortal sin go to Hell, and on the other hand, no one can enter Heaven with even the smallest sin. Therefore, there must be a place in the next world where lesser sins can be taken off the soul.

  5. Who will go to Purgatory? People who die with Sanctifying Grace in their souls, but --
    1. who die with venial sin on their souls, or
    2. who have not completed (satisfied for) the punishment still due to their already forgiven sins.

  6. What is meant by the "punishment still due to sin"? This means that, even though God forgives your sins, He still requires that you be punished for them (i.e. "pay" for them), either in this life or in the next.

For example: A boy playing ball in his yard breaks his neighbor's window. He goes and tells the lady he is sorry, and she forgives him but she tells him he will still have to pay for the window.

  7. Do you suffer in Purgatory? Yes. Besides not being allowed to see God face to face, the souls in Purgatory suffer a great deal. "The fire of Purgatory",says St. Augustine, "is more terrible than man can suffer in this life."

  8. How long will you have suffer in Purgatory? That depends on the number and seriousness of the sins to be atoned for.

"My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God." (Psalm 41:3)

  9. Where do you go when you leave Purgatory? To Heaven to see God and enjoy Him forever.

"Amen I say to thee, thou shalt not come out from thence till thou repay the last farthing." (Matthew 5:26)

  10. Will Purgatory ever end? Yes, at the Last Judgment. After that all souls will be in either Heaven or Hell forever.

  11. Can you help the souls in Purgatory? You can shorten their stay by having Masses said for them, by praying for them and by doing good works for them.

"Have pity on me, have pity on me, at least you my friends, because the hand of the Lord hath touched me." (Job 19:21)

  12. Does the Bible say anything about praying for the dead (doctrine of Purgatory)? YES! The Bible teaches (a) that some sins are forgiven in the next world; (b) that some souls are saved in the next world "by fire"; (c) that it is useful and beneficial to pray for the dead.
Matt. 12-32: "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of Man it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, NEITHER IN THE WORLD TO COME." (Some sins can therefore be forgiven after death.)
I Cor. 3, 13 and 15: "Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, YET SO AS BY FIRE."
2 Machabees, 12-46: "It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins."

We also read that Judas Machabeus, "sent twelve thousand drachmas of silver to Jerusalem for sacrifices to be offered for the sins of the dead." (2 Machabees 12:43)

(This is one of the Old Testament books omitted from the Protestant Bible).
COMMENT: As nothing defiled can enter Heaven (Apocalypse 21-27), there must necessarily exist a state of cleansing or purgation usually called "purgatory."

  13. How can you avoid Purgatory? Avoid even the smallest faults, do penance for sins already forgiven, gain indulgences and receive the Sacrament of Extreme Unction.
PRACTICAL POINTS

  1. All Souls' Day is the day set aside by the Church for special prayers and Masses for all the souls suffering in Purgatory. It is celebrated every year on November 2.

  2. The souls in Purgatory cannot help themselves. We should help them by our prayers and sacrifices. They, in turn, can and do pray for us.

  3. The souls in Purgatory are known as the Poor Souls

Saint Padre Pio, as we shall see shortly, had a very particular relationship with the Holy Souls; indeed they were his frequent visitors - so much so that at one time he said:

"I see so many souls from Purgatory that they don't frighten me any more."
And on another occasion when questioned further on the matter, he replied:

"More souls of the dead than of the living climb this mountain to attend my Masses and seek my prayers."

Padre Pio was one who offered his pains, prayers and sufferings for the release of those in a state of purification, and those souls never ceased to thank him for this.

ST. ANTONINUS AND HIS FRIEND

St. Antoninus, the illustrious Archbishop of Florence, relates that a pious gentleman had died, who was a great friend of the Dominican Convent in which the Saint resided. Many Masses and suffrages were offered for his soul.

The Saint was very much afflicted when, after the lapse of a long time, the soul of the poor gentleman appeared to him, suffering excruciating pains.

"Oh, my Dear Friend," exclaimed the Archbishop, "are you still in Purgatory, you who led such a pious and devout life?"

"Yes, and I shall remain there still for a long time, "replied the poor sufferer, "for when on Earth I neglected to offer suffrages for the souls in Purgatory. Now, God by a just judgment has applied the suffrages which have been offered for me to those souls for whom I should have prayed."

"But God, too, in His Justice, will give me all the merits of my good works when I enter Heaven; but first of all, I have to expiate my grave neglect in regard to others."

So true are the words of Our Lord: "By that measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you again."

Remember, you who read these lines, that the terrible fate of this pious gentleman will be the fate of all those who neglect to pray for and refuse to help the Holy Souls.

Meditations on the Stations of the Cross for Holy Souls

1st Station – Jesus is condemned to death

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Let us go back to the Garden of Olives, where Jesus saw the sins of the world. He also saw luke warm souls, who would know what he had done for them, and still would turn their back on his love. This caused him the greatest pain, this caused the agony. The creator still longed to die for these people to give them every chance. His love is not conditional like ours. Do we only love those who love us?

His apostles ran away, and Judas betrayed him with a kiss. Only one apostle was going to follow Him to calvary. The guards savagely took our Lord, and beat him. They took him to the Chief Priest’s House where they lied and accused him, they spat at him, and beat him savagely. He then saw Peter, the one who earlier that night, had said he would die for him, now he denied Jesus three times. Do I make promises like Peter? He was savagely scourged at the pillar until he had lost so much blood he could have died there and then. All the while he remained obediently quiet, offering everything to the Father for our sins. Now they were going to have fun with him, so they dressed him up like a king in mockery, they danced around Him, slapping Him and spitting at Him. They forced a crown of thorns into His head, and it probably went through his head and eyebrows. Then the crowd, who only a week before had worshipped Him on Palm Sunday, now shouted “crucify him” at the innocent lamb, their creator who never did anything to anyone, but show love and give life.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

2nd Station – Jesus is given his cross

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Here we see our Lord given his heavy cross. He embraces the cross with love. He trusts in the Father. He is not strong enough to carry a piece of paper, he has lost so much of His precious blood, never mind carry a cross up a hill, but out of holy obedience he tries. His heart longs to free us. We ask ourselves here are we willing to embrace our crosses. All we need do is to try with a willing heart, and God will give us the necessary graces to do the rest. Can we trust God as the God of love and mercy like Jesus?

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

3rd Station – Jesus falls for the first time

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our dear Lord falls for the first time. The weight of the cross is so heavy it pushes him to the ground. He falls on the stony path, and probably his knees and elbows are ripped open, and then the heavy cross lands on top of him. He gets back up again however to keep trying, to keep persevering. We too must just keep trying for love of Jesus. Even the smallest little offerings are great when done for love of Jesus. We are sinners, and we will fall but we have to try and keep going. Go to confession regularly and examine our conscience at night. Dear Lord, please give us the grace to persevere with love, to keep going when the cross gets heavy.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

4th Station – Jesus meets his mother

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Here we see the Immaculate Heart of Mary meet the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Can you imagine the scene? Mary as co- redeemer is carrying her own HEAVY cross up Calvary after her son. Her pain is so great, a sword is piercing her heart watching her son suffer so much, surrounded by so much evil and hatred, yet she accepts this and continues to trust in God’s goodness. 33 years later and she continues to say YES to God. Do we lose trust in God at the slightest wobble? Can we trust like Mary when the cross is heavy and human instincts tell us to avoid the cross? Mary, please help me to trust in God’s goodness when I am carrying my own cross. Help me to learn from your obedience to God’s Holy Will, and to be meek and humble as you are.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

5th Station – Simon helps Jesus carry his cross

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Simon didn’t want to help Jesus when he was asked to help carry his cross. Perhaps he was afraid what people would think? Am I afraid to follow Jesus as I am worried about what people think? Would the crowd think he was a criminal carrying his cross? Does this remind me of myself? Am I too caught up in my own fears, worries, etc., to think of helping others? Dear Lord, open my ears and eyes to the crying needs of those around me such as my neighbour, the poor suffering souls in purgatory with nobody to help them, and the souls that go to Hell each and every hour.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

6th Station – Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

St Veronica had much to risk. The crowd were roaring abuse at Jesus, and by helping a condemned man what would they think of her? What would her neighbours say? Would the soldiers throw her in prison? Veronica did not care, she was too full of love, and she wanted to help ease the Lord’s pain. Are we also too afraid of the consequences to help the Lord? Veronica wiped his face but he was still going to die, but he was so grateful he left the imprint of his face in the shroud. This shows us how the smallest offerings, made as acts of love throughout the day, can help console our Lord.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

7th Station – Our Lord Jesus falls the 2nd time

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our Lord Jesus falls again. The just man/woman it is said falls at least 7 times a day. We are weak and sinners, but we must TRY to keep getting back up like the Lord. Think of him on the ground in agony. What had he to get back up for? Nobody was going to think him great and brave, and there was no cash prize or earthly reward…..just more and more suffering lay ahead. It was LOVE that made him get back up again. Love for you. If he had an ounce of self love he would have stopped the passion there and then, but our sins were so great it was necessary for him to continue to carry out the will of His Father, and he embraced his cross once more and carried on, even though he physically wasn’t able.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

8th Station – Jesus meets the holy women of Jerusalem

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

The Holy women weep when they see our Lord suffer so much. He somehow musters up enough strength to go over to them and tells them not to weep for him, but for themselves and their children. Our Lord is telling us here the great need for prayers and sacrifices, as he sees the troubled road ahead for people. Is there anyone in our family that we should weep for? He sees today’s world and the amount of suffering each person and family goes through. He gives us the solution. We should also ask ourselves here, when we are going through a difficult day, do we consider others as he does in this station, or is the focus just turned in on ourselves.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

9th Station – Jesus falls for the third time

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our Lord falls for the third and final time. Imagine him hit the ground again and the cross landing on top of him. The soldiers are angry now as he is wasting their time, so they whip him harder and get aggressive with him. He somehow stumbles to His feet, and gets up to continue suffering…..love again drives him forward. We think here of the members of our family’s and friends who have fallen and are away from God. We ask you dear Lord to bring them back to you.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

images

10th Station – Jesus is stripped of his garments

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our Lord is stripped naked of his garments. Can you imagine the clothes been ripped off him after being stuck to his blood stained body…..like one giant plaster being ripped off. This must be one of the most humiliating things a person can go through – to be stripped of their dignity and stand their helpless and naked in front of other people. They laugh at him…..He is their creator…..He gave them life…..He did nothing and is innocent…….yet He permits this to show us the way to salvation. He shows us that when people mock us we can offer this up, and turn it into something powerful and good. He loves us so much that he allows this to happen to him. He wants to show us His love and what is important to join Him in Eternal Paradise.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

images

11th Station – Jesus is nailed to the cross

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our Lord Jesus is now nailed to the cross. They grab him and throw him on the cross, and proceed to put nails through his hands and feet. Can you imagine the agony? He shouts out “Forgive them father. They know not what they do”. What would you shout if a nail was being hammered through your feet? How forgiving are we of those who offend us in minor ways? Do we ever try and put ourselves in the other person’s shoes? Our Lord here shows us that we must forgive, and love all those who in any way offend us, because they really do not know what they do. We are all weak.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

12th Station – Jesus dies on the cross

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Jesus came down to this earth to die for us, and now he hangs from the cross for 3 hours in the most intense pain possible. He is thirsting for souls. He is thirsting for your faith. They continue to mock him and make fun of the innocent lamb, their creator. He slowly suffocates in the immense mid day heat. How can he go through this pain for me when I hardly ever think of him, or show him any love? When he dies blood and water gush forth from his heart. Blood representing the new life, the sacraments that come through the church, which give us LIFE. They give us the graces needed to get through this life, and strength in the fight against evil. The water represents the sacraments of confession and baptism, which clean and wash away our sins. God is so merciful that the greatest sin disappears like a piece of straw into a great furnace, when we approach the Lord with a contrite heart.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

13th Station – Jesus is laid in his Mother’s Arms

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Jesus is now dead but his Mother’s pain continues. Can you just imagine her seeing her beloved son being taken down from the cross, and the nails being taken out? Can you imagine witnessing the crown of thorns being pulled out of his head? Mary then holds her son in her arms, and cleans him lovingly. Think of Michaelanglo’s Pieta. Mary, hold us too in your arms and protect us and our families. Help us to follow your example more dearly and to learn from you.

Holy Souls Prayer –

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, sinners within the Universal Church, within my own home, and my own family. Amen.

14th Station – Jesus is laid in the tomb

We adore you o Christ and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Meditation –

Our Lord is now laid to rest in the tomb. Can we sense Mary’s pain? We think of the resurrection which is coming now and the great light and glory which we can almost see beginning to light up the tomb. How Jesus had to suffer though to reach his glory. We too must remember that we must take the narrow road of the cross in life to also reach the light. No cross, no crown. No Good Friday, No Easter Sunday. Dear Lord, please help us to remember this when the times are tough. Our focus should not be on the temporary difficulties or pleasures of this life, which always disappear, but the eternal reward which awaits good and faithful servants.

Holy Souls Prayer –
