First of all, I am not ashamed of the Lord Jesus and I am not ashamed of being a Messianic Jewish Believer. But I am ashamed of some ancestry I have and I feel really embarrassed about it when people ask what ethnicity I am.

It is not your fault what your relatives/ancestors did, you are only accountable for you. We can choose our friends, we can't choose our family o_O
Well the thing is that my ancestors really weren't evil. I am talking about on my paternal grandmother's side of the family (my grandmother who passed away in 2006, May God rest her soul), she had two grandfathers who one was an Ashkenazi Jew and one was a Sephardic Jew. Both of her parents were from Mexico and she thought that she was Mexican all of her life and I had thought that too at least until I was about 12 or 13 (now 21). She was not aware of being Jewish, and the fact that she did not have a matrilineal descent does not cancel out the blood or the ancestry!

It doesn't matter what your ansestry did or is from. It's what you believe right now in your heart.

-Do you believe in Jesus Christ and that He is the Savior?
-Do you believe that you are a sinner?
-Do you honestly seek forgiveness for your sins?
-Do you wish to be an active participant within the Kingdom of Jesus Christ?

If you answered "yes" to all of the questions, you are forgiving, you are saved! Rest easy my friend.

Yes, you are right. It is not worth going to hell over anything.

Why is that something to be ashamed of at all?

It sounds to me like you need a good dose of identity in Christ to be received into the deepest recesses of your soul. Shame about ancestry is a deep-level spiritual idolatry. It has to do with heroic images against prejudicial images you grew up with, which is psychological wickedness. Only Christ can heal the wounds and set right the attitudes. The Word of God transforms the heart and soul. When all that matters is that you have a Defender in Heaven, then all prejudicial attitudes disappear.

Thank God for His grace.

Well I really shouldn't be ashamed, I was just disappointed to find it out about my grandmother's ancestry (may God rest her soul).

EDIT: That and my grandmother (may God rest her soul) never knew that she was Jewish and knew nothing of the Jewish culture, religion or traditions. She was Christian and thought she was Mexican her whole life and Spanish was her first language. I am sorry I forgot to mention the ancestry of her grandmothers, but I am not fully sure about them either until I do a DNA test. Her grandmothers were probably not Jewish from what I know about family stories from my father and surnames.

It is disappointing because how would you feel if you thought you were an ethnicity, nationality or race your whole life and someone told you that you were something different than you thought you were?

Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all
one in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:15
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called
as members of one body. And be thankful."

I would be proud of that lineage.

But understand it shaking you. Hope you will see Yahweh's impact on those before you and who you are.

Yahweh determines the time and place of our births:
-“And he made from one man every race of men to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted epochs and the fixed boundaries of the places where they would live;” (Acts 17:26)

He formed them and you:
-“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb” Psa 139:13
"Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews." Job 10:11
-“Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?” Mal 2:10

You are making the mistake of evaluating yourself by what others did in the past or what religion they belonged to or what ethnicity or race they were? That is illogical since your value before God depends on how you behave.

Romans 14:12
New International Version
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.

BTW
Jews are presently members of many races. German Jews, Ethiopian Jews.
Geraldo Rivera identifies himself as a Puerto Rican Jew.
History of the Jews in Puerto Rico - Wikipedia

Rivera was born at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, New York, the son of Lillian (née Friedman) and Cruz "Allen" Rivera (October 1, 1915 – November 1987), a restaurant worker and cab driver.[4][5] Rivera's father was a Catholic Puerto Rican,[6] and his mother is of Ashkenazi Russian Jewish descent. He was raised "mostly Jewish" and had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.
